We’ve just pushed an update for Debris that greatly improves the overall performance and adds full support for six more languages. Debris has never been smoother, faster, or more multilingual. Performance improvements With this build, we’ve been seeing significant framerate increases and loading time decreases on all our machines. We’ve completely reworked our creature animation system, dramatically improving overall performance and allowing us to create larger schools of ambient creatures. We’ve also addressed a long-standing loading issue, streamlining level transitions and drastically reducing level reloading time (very drastically). This means that if you run out of power, you’ll be right back at it in a few seconds. If you were having performance is…
- Debris 2.0.1 - Minor Stability Update - 8 March 2018
Thanks everyone for the feedback thus far on Debris co-op. It’s been awesome to see people playing together on Twitch, so we’ll keep an eye on that. This new build addresses some networking issues we’ve seen including one where players would drop connections during level transitions. If you’re still having issues joining a friend’s hosted game, here's something to try that solved the issue in a few cases (Windows-only for now): Select Debris in your Steam library and right click > Properties Go to Local Files and click Browse Local Files Right click debris.exe and go to Compatibility Check "Run this program as an administrator" Click Apply Go back to your Steam library and relaunch Debris Important: Make sure you launch the game from Steam! As always, keep us posted if you have any issues and thanks for playing!

- Debris 1.2 - A Deeper Dive - 21 December 2017
Hello again! Just in time for the holidays, we’re excited to release our 1.2 update. A lot to go over here, but before we get started we want to thank everyone who’s played Debris. We’ve really taken your feedback seriously, here on Steam, on YouTube, and on Twitch. We’re doing a lot of things differently with Debris and your feedback has really helped us improve the game. Alright, let’s go: More to see While Debris is a narrative game, we want players to explore some of the more hidden reaches of our cave network. To do this we’ve added secret areas, a bunch of achievements, given Ryan a serviceable torch and tweaked the Squid’s AI so it stays with you more persistently (“Over here, Sonya!”). Achievements There are now 21 achievements for you to unlock by reaching certain endings, finding hidden areas, making it through sequences without taking damage and more! Dive into ALTA’s archive…

- Patch notes - 1.1.1 - 16 November 2017
Latest update just pushed with a few small but sought-after options: Additional options in Settings menu Enable/disable Raw Input for mouse/controller. This will remove any smoothing/acceleration on cursor movement. Enable/disable Motion Blur. Enable/disable HUD Warp. We’ve also re-introduced some special creatures, fixed a bunch of small bugs (like one where music would double up between chapters and reloads) and tweaked mouse control based on player feedback. Still working on larger updates to come. Thanks again for the feedback and comments!

Thanks again for all the post-launch feedback and we’re very excited to announce our first update. We’ve tried to address as many things as possible, but we’re still working on a few things. Lots new features and fixes: Brand new ice shader and smoothed ice This is a big one. We’re finally releasing our transparency-having, refraction-doing ice shader. To see the new shader, update and make sure you’re on the Fantastic quality setting (unfortunately this is PC-only). We’ve also re-surfaced all the ice geometry in the game, getting rid of some bothersome reversed normals and other artifacts along the way. You’ll have the new geometry on any quality setting on Mac & PC. Revised creature movement We’ve done a complete pass on creature animations and they sh…

- Quick update - 25 October 2017
Hey everyone, it's been great to see people playing Debris on Twitch and YouTube. So far we've really appreciated the reception, and feedback on both sides has been great to read after such a long development. Thanks to everyone for the support so far. Right off the bat: we miscalculated our pricing. We're a very small studio and spent a lot of time trying to find the right launch price for our first original game, but we missed the mark. We know a lot of people are interested in the game and want everyone to give Debris a try, so we're lowering our base price a bit to reflect that. We also want to be completely transparent because we respect our customers' time and money. If you have any concerns/questions at all or if you already bought the game at the old price, please send us an email at [email protected]. But there's more! Co-op is on it's way and we've been testing a bunc…
