  • Scorn brings its fleshy world to PS5 later this year - 2 July 2023

Last year's previously Xbox-exclusive, HR Geiger inspired survival horror game Scorn is making its way to PS5 later this year. After a very lengthy development period, Scorn finally released on Xbox Series X/S and PC last year, with reviews being a bit mixed , though mostly on the positive side ( including our own ). Now, as revealed over on the PlayStation Blog , Scorn is making its way onto the PS5, offering up the decidedly fleshy game up to a whole new audience. While the game only has a vague release window of "later this year," the blog did go into some details behind the port, including how the DualSense controller will offer a new experience. "As we were developing the game for PlayStation 5, we finally had the opportunity to tap into the potential of the DualSense wireless controller to immerse you even further in this twisted world," writes technical artist Jovan Vučkov…

  • Patch 1.2.2.0 for Scorn is out now! - 16 March 2023

Greetings Scorn players, We have some important updates to share with you. We will be implementing pre-caching of shaders to prevent stuttering during gameplay. This version of the PSO cache is improved and covers more cases to ensure that your gaming experience is as smooth as possible. In response to feedback from some of our players, we are also adding Steam Trading Cards to the game. We hope that this feature will enhance your overall experience and provide an additional layer of engagement with Scorn. Last but not least – Scorn is part of the Steam Spring Sale with both editions on sale at 40% off. So if you have yet to venture into the nightmarish labyrinth of Scorn, this is a great chance to do it. Thank you for your continued support and stay tuned for m…

  • The Pulse Monthly - 10.0 - 3 November 2022

Hey everyone! It’s been an incredible journey from where we started to where we are now with Scorn having officially launched on the 14th of October. If you missed it, you can check out our launch trailer below. Scorn has been such a passion project for all of us here. Ebb Software had humble beginnings as a team of four with a very small budget. Led by our Creative Director, Ljubomir Peklar, the studio worked incredibly hard to realise a world he’d imagined as a game for years. We emailed game keys out to backers a couple days before launch, so if you still haven’t seen a game key, first search for Ebb Software in your email, as it may have gone to spam or a social folder. If you still don’t see your key, please send us a Kickstarter DM, or an email to [email protected] and we’ll be able to assist. We’ve also received a nomination for the 2022 Golden Joystick Awards in the c…

  • The best Halloween 2022 treat? I think it might be Xbox Game Pass - 26 October 2022

Halloween is right around the corner, and I don’t know about any of you, but it’s definitely one of my favourite holidays of the year. Mainly because, unlike Christmas (in which I rarely get to relax, let alone boot up a game), it’s the perfect excuse for me to kick back and chill out with my favourite genre of game, and that’s horror. Admittedly, I’ve jumped on the Halloween bandwagon rather late this year. I’ve failed to decorate my flat with cardboard bats and fake cobwebs, and I’m still yet to go and acquire candy for any trick-or-treaters. That said, I dove into Xbox Game Pass recently to line up some games for the Halloween weekend; it appears that while the children knocking on my front door may not get any treats, I certainly have already got one with the gems that are on Game Pass right now. • How to solve the first puzzle and open the door in Scorn - 17 October 2022

You're confronted with Scorn's first door puzzle almost immediately after starting this first-person horror adventure. As you wake up and begin to venture through the grotesque architecture, you'll find the way forward is blocked by a solid door. You'll need to do some exploring if you want to open it but with so many branching paths heading off the main room, it's easy to become disoriented... Read more.

  • Scorn's review scores hit scoreboard, might leave critics scorned - review round-up - 14 October 2022

Scorn comes from the folk over at Ebb Software, and is a simultaneously grotesque and fascinating horror experience. That said, what does everyone actually think of it? The first-person horror adventure arrives on both PC and Xbox Series X/S today, 14 October, and is also a Game Pass day one release. So, if you’re a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, you can install the game for free on PC, Xbox Series X/S, or even try the title out via Xbox Cloud Gaming. It also happens that Scorn is one of Ebb Software’s first games, and in my humble opinion, it’s an incredibly impressive one at that. It’s an unsettling game that started out with an unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign back in 2014, but it’s now managed to find its feet and since run a much more successful campaign. Read more

  • Scorn review: a staggeringly impressive horror world with messy combat - 14 October 2022

Scorn is a deliberately grim game with a lot of body horror. Best avoid it and this review if you have issues with body horror themes. I was talking to a friend about Scorn and they asked, "Is there a story ?". And yeah, Scorn has a story. At some point there'll be a two hour YouTube video outlining how it has a clear and nuanced plot, or that it's a metaphor for periods and erections, or both. In the immediate, it's about slithering out of a pod, staggering through the desert, and finding yourself in a strange, huge rotting machine made of rock and flesh that's already decades into abandonment and decay, and where most things look a bit penisy or womby. It's about the lizardy parasite latched to your back gradually transforming your body. It's about grim squishy noises and survival. Scorn doesn't have dialogue, or a map. It doesn't really have a HUD, it doesn't have quest markers, and…
