- Game Availability Update - 3 February 2022
After four years on Steam, Commands & Colors Ancients will no longer be available for new purchases. Existing customers will be able to continue to download the game via their Steam Library.

We appologise for the delay in updates. This update is more about optimizing the game. The next update will be focused on rule fixes. Fixed the jittering camera when focused on an action. Sped up all units and shortened the card display time when AI pulls a new card, to improve gameplay pace. Additional bug fixes, improvements and optimizations.

Fixed an issue were auxilia units could not attack after moving. Fixed a couple of issues with Elephant Rampage.
- Patch 2 now live. - 5 October 2018
Hi all sorry for the delay on this one. Added a detach and move leader button: If you get a card saying you can move a leader a button will now appear above the end turn button. During the selection phase click that button and you will be able to select the leader of your choice. During the move phase click the button to move the leader if you have more than one leader selected click the button again to move the next leader. Elephants should now work as intended. Retreat now applies correct amount of retreat actions and you lose points for moving off the board. Fixed an issue which was causing some scenarios to have the player on the wrong side of the board. Command cards which issued an order to a number of a certain type of unit now lets you order 1 unit of your choice if you do not have any of the unit type required by the card. Hi all sorry to say we will not get a patch out this week. We had one ready to go but on testing we have come across issues which we are trying to pin down and fix. We will get it out early next week. Thank you for your understanding.

It's a little later than planned, but Commands & Colors: Ancients now brings Roman warfare to PC .  Launched yesterday on Steam, Hexwar Games and GMT Games have reimagined the 2006 tabletop original in digital form, with 15 war-torn scenarios and over 50 unique combat and command cards.  With a focus on "the historical deployment of forces and important terrain features on the scale of the game system", Commands & Colors: Ancients lets players fill the sandals of Syracusan, Carthaginian or Roman soldiers across three difficulty levels.  Shall we look at some of that in practice? - Commands & Colors: Ancients brings Roman warfare to Steam by end of August - 22 August 2018
A digital version of Commands & Colors: Ancients, developed by HexWar Games, should release on Steam by the end of the month. A scenario-driven game of historical battles, Ancients has 15 scenarios that span about 600 years of history. Ancients uses the series’ signature card-driven command system, introducing uncertainty and hesitation by limiting which units a player can activate at any given time.  The scenarios focus on Romans, Carthaginians, and Syracusans, placing a lot of emphasis on terrain and how to work around the limitations of units like chariots.
