  MAJOR UPDATE IS LIVE — PROTOBALL We fixed a few small bugs and QoL things, added Turkish + re-translated every other language, dropped three new skins, made the shield bigger, and added a ton of new stuff (including game modes) in so more of you balla's never stop ballin'.   Added Vote Forfeit option in Pause Menu (press ESC while playing) Fixed player FOV when joining from spectator to player Added mercy clause on golf mode, can score no higher than double par Bots & behavior/skill have been updated, should be more fun (will keep improving) Added Curve Lock, when setting a spin (right click to enter spin mode) press WASD to set curve direction, press ALT to lock that curve direction. When locked you can move character any direction without affecting curve direction. Shield pickups now RESET shield cooldown

• Added first iteration of bots - they're bad - 12 July 2026

  Bots are in on the Orbital arena. They're not good yet, but they will be soon. Important part is that bots are working! Also don't forget party join also works, so you can be in a party with a friend and search for a match.   We added three new skinz, and there are a bunch of updates and quality of life tweaks. Still working on a few things before spring's major update, but we're getting close. • Added Golf Mode! - 27 April 2026

  Host your own golf server and play 9 holes! Click and hold to charge the meter, then click again hit it in the middle. Wind is a big factor and being adjusted, it's different for each hole. Click Play > Host a Server and choose Golf Mode

• New Characters + Old School Maps Are back! Big update - 8 April 2026

  We added 4 new characters and a new Character Artist to the team! We'll be adding more characters and skin variants soon, and eventually a character creator too. The smaller Streets arena is back, and so is the classic Championship Arena from the original Protoball game. It feels so good to be back. Grab a friend and start playing today!

• Fixed annoying bug! New alpha-characters - 27 February 2026

  Fixed an annoying error when doing the tutorial, and randomly when in free play. Added a new female character that looks better. Also big news, we've acquired a new Character Artist! We'll be making some super dope characters asap, so stay tuned. In the mean time... get good. Join the discord, play with other fans, get ready for this spring's big events.

• New Game Mode and an Engine Upgrade to UE5.7 - Linux and Windows! - 8 January 2026

  Big updates! We're live with the latest version of Protoball! This time with a brand new game mode, "PitBall" but probably being changed to Lavaball, as it's being called in the discord. Use the shield's explosion & push back effect to knock your opponents off the platforms, and into the LAVAPIT. Using all the same Protoball mechanics (high tech space athlete most amazing movement tech you've ever played) in a whole new setting and mode. It's a blast, and it gets crazy. The more you get hit with a shield, the more you fly. When your bar hits 100% you better dodge everything. If you lose a team-mate you can bring them back by scoring in your opponent's goal with the ball. The ball also pushes people back if you can manage to hit them with it.   Match making is working for 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 matches! There's a channel in the DISCORD that shows you when people are searching for a match. Please join and help us grow the community of hardcore eSports gamers.
