- Yai Gameworks 10-year anniversary; releasing FREE updates to all of my games! - 7 May 2025
Hey! Did you know we're approaching Yai Gameworks 10-year anniversary? Well, now you do! I've technically been making games since 2013, starting with Blank Slate, but "Yai Gameworks" was made officially in 2015 as part of becoming a Steam developer to release Close Your Eyes: Redux on Steam. So I have some surprises for y'all! I'm doing a HUGE 10-year celebration. What does that entail? I'm going to update every single game I've released on Steam. This will start in a few days from now, but the updates will roll out through the next 477 days (until August 31st, 2026). I will not reveal everything I'm adding to these games here, just the core new additions. Small update to just fix a few small bugs. -Fixed it so you can leave the Forest Warehouse if you have 5 or 6 talismans. -Fixed a bug where the game would crash in the Warehouse if you last input a blue button code incorrectly. -Fixed the hit detection of the dumpster in My Hole is a Mouth of Dirt. -A hypothetical attempt to fix a bug where you'd automatically when the "Spider" death zone in the doodily train section if you entered it a second time. - Close Your Eyes Version 0.3 Out Now! - 23 December 2024
Close Your Eyes Remake has updated to version 0.3! This update while a relatively big one, didn't end up quite as fully cooked as I desired. This mostly ends up being an update adding more to content already in the game. Some of that content is practically all new; Some rooms have been completely reworked, there's various visual and audio additions, new flavor text added, new secrets, new surprises, and more. This has been more an "Art Final Pass" update than anything. But that doesn't mean there isn't any new content, in fact all the WIP game modes outside of A Ghastly Tale have a small update to get to their next save point with new rooms, cutscenes, surprises, etc. But the next update will have to be the one that really expands on adding more content in a linear story fashion to the current dead ends that exist. Released an update for Close Your Eyes finally! This update mostly brings all the content in the game to its "Final" version. Close Your Eyes Remake saw the most additions, and I highly encourage replaying it from the start as there's honestly quite a few new sights, sounds, events, etc, to experience within it. The other game modes have also experienced smaller updates. My Hole is a Mouth of Dirt: Director's Cut is also now officially starting, with the first section of it fully playable. - Voice Acting Update, Small Update Before The Storm - 21 June 2022
Released version 0.2.2, which is releasing a few weeks ahead before Version 0.3, which will be a major update. Version 0.2.2: -Adds voice acting for The Girl in every scene she appears in (about 100 new lines of voiced dialogue in the current build). In Close Your Eyes Remake, her voice acting only plays if you enable the "New Voice Acting" option when starting a new Close Your Eyes Remake game, in "Old Voice Acting" she remains unvoiced like the original game. -Several dozen The Host lines redone for Close Your Eyes Remake's "New Voice Acting" option. -Added new stuff to the Warehouse Path in The Forest in the Close Your Eyes Remake. -Several bug fixes. -Added a few secrets. Close Your Eyes -Anniversary Remake- just had an update, but not a content update update, but an update prepping for that. The update fixes Steam achievements (on Windows), improves game performance, fixes up the launch-up bug, fixes the save/load menu lag bug, & fixes a variety of bugs & errors people had reported to me. A bigger content update for the game will be out in a few months, but THIS IS TORTURE TOGETHER will be happening first. Close Your Eyes -Anniversary Remake- has just launched a major update. Here's the patch notes: The Annex has been completely overhauled for a new look. Close Your Eyes: Forest Section now added. A Ghastly Tale's first 10-15 minutes now playable (earn 20 achievements to unlock.) Girl's Graveyard Mystery's first 30-60 minutes now playable (earn 25 achievements to unlock.) New Voice Acting Option added to Close Your Eyes Remake. When starting a new CYE game from The Annex, may select new or original voice acting. A big update for Close Your Eyes -Anniversary Remake- will be hitting on August 28th. The new updates brings: A completely redesigned Annex. A new, more organized look! The Close Your Eyes Remake gets a big content expansion, including two new sections and branching pathways. Girl's Graveyard Mystery is added, with half of that game mode being playable as of this update. The beginning 15-20 minutes of Close Your Eyes: A Ghastly Tale will be playable, not a lot like the CYE & Girl's Graveyard Mystery updates, but a bit for those who unlock it to be expanded on in the future. New voice acting added to Close Your Eyes remake. When you start a new game of the CYE Remake, you'll get an option to play with original voices, or newly recorded voice lines. - Version 0.13 "Prison Update" releasing on August 31st - 13 August 2019
Thought I'd give an update/mention here ahead of time that Version 0.13 of Close Your Eyes -Anniversary Remake- will release this month on August 31st, which is the 4-year anniversary of the Steam release of CYE. This is the "Prison Update", which includes a new area expanding on an idea in the original game that never made the cut. The update only adds about another 15-30 minutes to the original CYE game mode, but I think you guys will really like some of the new and expanded stuff from this slice of the game. The update also will add a few minor bug fixes, and implement a few easter eggs/secrets in earlier parts of the game for people to stumble upon, and update the Annex just a little a bit (both in its content and visually). Sorry for the long delay in this update, there's a mixture of reasons for it but updates should begin hitting more rapidly now that I have a new workflow and through a certain period of my life. Update 0.12 for Close Your Eyes -Anniversary Remake- is out now! Restart Steam to download it immediately, the update includes: -10-20 minutes more of CYE Game Mode, making you go through the revised Judith Manor sequence of the game. -Couple new secrets, one is tied to an achievement, the other I don't expect people will find for some time. -Various small fixes. This was one of the harder sections to make for the remake as I kept redoing certain scenes debating how close to stick to the original, how much to change as the original Judith Manor was arguably one of the weakest sections of the original CYE. - June 23rd is the date for the Red Haze, Close Your Eyes & Found Horror Game 11.exe Updates - 11 June 2019
Okay, I can finally announce this to everyone . On June 23rd, the following will release: -Red Haze update is added which adds several dozen new hidden events, four new areas, two new endings. -Close Your Eyes -Anniversary Remake- Judith Manor Update. -Found Horror Game 11.exe Game 5 "The Pure Field", and Game 6 is ready as well whenever Game 5 is completed with Game 7 pretty far along. I waited to announce this until all of them were ready, but I can announce this now finally I am confident, all three will release then.
