Hi! After discovering a minor potential securty problem we decided to patch the game to correct it. Patch notes: - Fixed additional Lua vulnerabilities This should not change anything noticeable for you in your game. But there is the small possibility that mods you are using may be utilizing the security flaw in a non-malicious way and may therefore stop working with this patch. If that's the case, you can revert your game version by right clicking the game in Steam -> properties -> BETAS and select the "1.4-no_security_fix..." version. Please note that you do that on your own risk! That version does contain a known security flaw! Enjoy!
- Sengoku Security Update - 17 February 2020
Greetings! To resolve a security issue tied to the way LUA libraries were loaded for mods we released a minor update. This update will not change your version number or cheksum, and save files should be unaffected. The update has already been applied through Steam. To prevent IO or system/OS access in Lua (to prevent mods abusing it), we want to disable the `luaopen_io` and `luaopen_os` functions in the LUA library/dll. These are updated LUA libraries with that functionality disabled. This does not change behavior of the base game, or impact the multiplayer checksum. Some mods might use these libraries for benign purposes, but unfortunately they will not function after this fix.

It's been a few months since we've heard of a Deus Ex name being reserved and ultimately not turning out to be a big-budget game, so we're about due. Square Enix has now registered a trademark for "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided," which according to the registration office covers video game software, printed material like books, and online services.

Machinema teased a Deus Ex: Human Revolution fan film last week, but any would-be cyberpunks excited by the prospect didn't have to wait long. The full 12-minute short has now been released.

Human Revolution is a Deus Ex short fan film based on the game of the same title. Machinima has released a trailer for the impending release on March 25, and it looks, well, pretty much as you'd expect Deus Ex to look in live action. Except less yellow.
- Deus Ex: The Fall jacking into PC in March - 25 February 2014
Mobile spin-off Deus Ex: The Fall looked like a Deus Ex game, and swam like a Deus Ex game, but quacked like a Deus Ex game with horrible touchscreen controls. How very pleasant, then, that it's coming to PC with support for keyboard and mouse or controllers, of course, and a few extra changes t'boot.

Editor's note: Given its similarities to the original PC release, we decided against a formal review of the recently-released Wii U version. Instead, we focus on how the Director's Cut improves upon the original. The Director's Cut version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution updates Square Enix and Eidos Montreal's original 2011 game, reincorporating the Missing Link DLC back into the game and fixing some of the game's flaws. New extras, like second screen gameplay, supplement the overall experience.

- Deus Ex: Human Revolution PC can be upgraded to Director's Cut for as low as $5 - 12 October 2013
Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut is set to arrive on October 22. Fans that have already paid and played the original probably don't want to pay for a double-dip. Thankfully, Square Enix has heard fan concerns and has promised that the PC version of Human Revolution can be upgraded to the Director's Cut at a discounted rate.

Eidos Montreal today announced a yet-unnamed new game is in development for PC and next-gen consoles, as the centrepiece of a transmedia blitz called Deus Ex: Universe. It also confirmed that the revamped Director's Cut of Deus Ex: Human Revolution will launch October 22 on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U.
