- Codemasters extends its F1 deal to 2025 - 31 October 2019
Codemasters has just announced that it's extended its rights on the F1 licence to 2025 - with a further option for 2026 and 2027. Coming off the back of two outstanding entries in Codemasters' series, it's fantastic news for fans of the sport, and it marks the longest extension in the franchise's history. Codemasters first signed up in 2008, with the first entry being Sumo's stopgap Wii effort in 2009, with the fully-fledged F1 2010 following soon after. There have been lulls - F1 2014 marked a low-point for the series as the studio prepared for a new generation - but since then it's gone from strength to strength, with F1 2019 an enjoyable, detailed and passionate take on the sport that's bolstered by an esports offering now going into its third seasons that's become part and parcel of the sport itself. - Sci-fi strategy game Stellaris joins Xbox Game Pass for PC this month - 9 October 2019
Microsoft has confirmed the latest batch of titles coming to Xbox Game Pass on PC - and while a few have been revealed previously, some new names, including sci-fi grand strategy game Stellaris, will also be making the leap to the subscription service before the month is through. Alongside Stellaris, quirky (and tremendously entertaining ) 60-second puzzle adventure Minit joins the Xbox Game Pass line-up on PC, as does F1 2018, a racer that Eurogamer's Martin Robison called "one of the very best F1 games to date" in his Recommended review last year. - F1 2019 getting off to an earlier start - 29 March 2019
Because reasons, Codemasters tend to release their Formula One games near the end of the racing season they’re simulating, which is weird. Wouldn’t it be better if motorheads could themselves play through all the tracks ahead of their Grand Prix? Or maybe even race alongside it, listening to the actual team’s racing radio? Wearing a full fireproof racing suit in their house? Shouting for their flatmate to deliver new cups of tea to the desk at every pitstop? Pissing into a big nappy? - It looks like junior formulae are coming to Codemasters' F1 games for the first time - 28 March 2019
Codemasters is bringing the release of its annual F1 game forward from its regular slot, with the release confirmed for June 28th this year for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. And it looks like that's not the only change that's being made. There's an edgier new look, and the introduction of a 2019 spec car designed by Ross Brawn and Pat Symonds that will allow players to employ their own choice of liveries, allowing for a little more customisation when it comes to multiplayer races. The most exciting part, though, comes in a brief flash at the end of the short trailer as we see the silhouette of the current Dallara F2 car, which strongly suggests the series - which supports several rounds of the F1 calendar - will be making its debut in F1 2019. - Patch 1.16 - OUT NOW - 25 February 2019
Patch 1.16 is now live on Steam, and contains an update for a tyre physics issue, where the temperatures behaved differently depending on frame rate. The fix will bring temperature behaviour in line across all three platforms, PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and regardless of frame rate. As we’ve previously commented, we log and assess all user feedback which we receive via any of our channels. In some situations we’re able to act upon issues more readily than others, depending on the complexity and development requirements. In this instance we felt we could quickly and safely apply an important fix which will impact upon the validity of players performance in game.

Fixed several issues where spectators and players could get stuck in a perpetual load state in multiplayer. The Safety Car/Virtual Safety Car should no longer trigger after a flashback. Hey all! Patch 1.13 is now live on Steam, and you can find all the patch notes here: Added option to disable tyre carcass temperature - the Tyre Temperature option can be found in Gameplay Settings and there are two choices: 'Surface & Carcass (Simulation)', which is the setting that 2018 has used up to this point, and the alternative 'Surface Only' option. Fixed an issue where online stats would fail to update correctly – if your stats fail to update after this patch, please let us know in the Discussion thread, please be sure to include which stats are not updating for you. Improved times generated when a session is fast forwarded or Flying Lap / Return To Garage are used (i.e. time is skipped / accelerated). Patch 1.12 is now live on Steam, and you can find the patch notes below: Invalidated lap times will no longer be incorrectly set back to valid when returning to the garage. Added new PC anti cheat. Improvements to the Safety Car behaviour when it’s deployed to the track. Broadcast speech will now play correctly after all sessions. Stopped spectators seeing the garage for a frame followed by the car on track for a frame causing a nasty flicker when spectating OSQ. Rebalanced Rank and Safety Rating calculations. We are continuing to track down and fix more bugs and we’ll have more information about any further patches soon.

Hi all, Patch 1.10 is now out on Steam - and you can find the notes below\; Players will no longer be incorrectly overtaken under the Safety Car when they have high engine or gearbox wear. Fixed an issue that caused AI drivers with a puncture to not pit. Numerous improvements to the Interviews with Claire. Co commentator commentary should now always play correctly. Fixed an issue with the track rubbering in and marbles not working. Players will no longer be able to select reverse gear while driving forwards. Updated the Power Unit & Gearbox Management tutorial audio in German to correctly reflect the 2018 rules. Fixed players occasionally getting stuck waiting for players in Multiplayer when loading in to OSQ. We are continuing to track down and fix more bugs and we’ll have more information about any further patches soon.

Hi all! Patch 1.08 is now available on Steam, you can check out the patch notes below. Patch Notes Usernames should no longer be completely missing in Multiplayer lobbies and races. Note that the issue on PC where player names are shown as Unknown is a different issue. Fixed an instance where players could be stuck waiting for players in a multiplayer game following a host migration. Fixed an issue where players were unable to join a ranked session. Fixed an issue where cars would spawn on top of each other in multiplayer races. Known Issues Time Trial Leaderboards – There is currently a bug where the game will update your leaderboard time with your last lap time and not your fastest lap time. We are currently working on this issue and we aim to have the fix out soon.
