  We're proud to announce that Nectarmancer is at Tokyo Game show this weekend.... or at least it was until the final day of TGS was cancelled due to extreme weather. We're scrappy, we're adaptable, we are, afterall, Nectarmancers, so we're opening up our playtest to EVERYONE today and we're making our playtest build our TGS demo for the time being.   Nectarmancer has a unique world, and it needed a unique approach to music to best serve what we're creating. Join us on a quick dive into the instrumentation and music styling for the OST.SynthsThe U.D.O Super-6 is a lush binaural analog synth that has a massive stereo field, it gets used in every single track for both pads, basses and leads.Other synths used include a very real Prophet 08, and a Digitone IIDrums & PercussionA Brazilian Serdo drum gets used to help make everything sound more organic. It's a great bass drum with metal sides that can also be played.VoxTo further organify the sound, we use real vocals on all the tracks. They get pitched up and down and receive a tremendous dose of reverb and are often used as the basis for ambient tracks. We've also used actual children to record children's choirs when possible.All music is made and performed by humans on real instruments.…

  As a Nectarmancer, your survival depends on both melee and ranged combat, this post is all about some of the delectable plants you can shootSeeds = Bullets, and all the bullets in the game are unique, grown from your own plants and taking on their traits. While you can plant your seeds into the ground and grow them into more bullet factories, you'll eventually have to use them against your enemies.The Spike Shoot is a really fun piercing weapon, line up enemies and watch them get pierced.The Candle Sprig is your simple explosive weapon, while explosions start small and simple, the plant can be cultivated to have extreme room-killing explosions, explosions that don't hurt you, and pressurized explosions.The Snake Bite makes for a good spread weapon, and is great at pushing back large waves of weak enemies like plant-eaters.   Greetings from beautiful Oakland, California! The Beauty Cult is just Zac and I (Don), and we've been so fortunate to be able to dig into making this crazy game of ours. It's been a long-time coming, but we'd like to share some details about what this game is as well as some development updates.Nectarmancer is a Gardenvania, that means that you explore a big seamless open world (like Ori, not like Blasphemous), doing acrobatic combat and unlocking new abilities that help you explore new areas and incentivize re-exploration. The world map is dense, and secret-laden, which is important for making re-exploration feel good and rewarding. But that's just regular metroidvania stuff that players should expect, as a gardenvania, much of Aisa's (that's you, the Nectarmancer) combat power comes from the plants that you grow.
