All units: converge on Akihabara! On August 15, we’re holding a special Night Striker-focused event above the Hey arcade in Akihabara, Tokyo. The venue will feature merchandise sales—including limited and early-release items—an actual arcade Night Striker cabinet on display, and a hands-on play area. In the morning, we’ll host the “Night Striker Special Tactical Action Force Skills Trial in Hey” competition. Players will take on designated stages, competing for the highest Running Point score (displayed on the game’s gadget) at stage end. Entry is limited to 20 participants; if applications exceed this number, players will be selected at random. I thought TaosukeFox had clinched it with their 3.9m score, but then wr01r came in at 4m+ and an even higher score of 4.2m near the end, but fogg_manatic snuck in at the end with a staggering 5 million points! mtyankovich in 3rd climbed from 3m to over 4m, securing themelves 3rd place overall. The full game saw a score rush too, perhaps most impressive of all being sciencer0122 managing to top their own previous number 1 score! However, equally impressive were out 2nd and 3rd entries who lept from the 2m point mark to well over 3m, securing themselves top placing! So. This isn’t a new game. In fact, it’s basically the oldest game. There’s nothing in modern games we would have without Space Invaders , including the excellent Adam Sandler films Pixels. You remember Pixels right? It made $244,000,000 in 2015, because in 2015 we were all very stupid and bad. Not me though. I have been and always will be the most not stupid person because I did not pay to see Pixels in a theater. Take that, Adam. There’s a demo for Space Invaders Extreme . It’s a good game. A better game than Pixels is at being a movie. Don’t watch the movie and don’t take my jokes here as a reason to watch it ironically. Changed the shot input timer to reset when switching Power Hold on/off to prevent misfiring shot/power up weapons. If you experience any problems, please check here.
