Latest Steam announcements
- v1.0.8.3 - 7 April 2018
Changes: New "All In One" environment Optimized "City" environment Improved rain effects Improved rain sound effect Improved spawning of traffic cars Fixed loss of control when stopping drifting Decreased refraction intensity of rain drops on windows a bit Fixed reflection quality setting not saving Removed "No real-time reflections" option Improved "Low reflections" option Improved street lights and changed their color Fixed score jumping too quickly on non-VR version Tweaked head movement again
- v1.0.8.2 - 4 April 2018
I'm releasing this update early because I've found that the speed mode option was not working, it was stuck on the "medium" option. Changes: Tweaked head movement on acceleration Fixed Speed mode option and added a "Slower" mode Added a medium road width option Fixed fireworks (they were not showing up) Rendering optimizations by adding LOD to traffic cars and environment
- v1.0.8.1 - 3 April 2018
This is a quick update for the feedback received. In the next update I'll be looking into optimizing the Forest and City environments with reflections enabled. Please let me know how good/bad your frame rate is in VR with reflections enabled! And also what you would like to see done next! Changes: Added mode selection (Arcade, Hardcore, Hardcore drift) Added speed mode selection (Medium, Fast) Added traffic car count slider Added road width slider Added a "No real-time reflections" option Tweaked map generation Improved non-VR field of view Added a separate highscore for each setting combination Internal cleaning up (removed over 8700 lines and 1.4GB) Fixed light halos Small fixes
- v1.0.8.0 - 1 April 2018
I've taken a break from the game for a few weeks, but now I'm back with an update! I've been experimenting with the gameplay, but that led me to find out that the original gameplay works the best. I've been trying to make the game feel more realistic by improving the physics, but that makes the gameplay less interesting as I end up having to decrease the speed a lot in order to make the car possible to handle. So I've decided to only keep the original physics and focus on improving them instead. I've managed to move the old physics into the new map generation, which means I will still have more freedom in improving the environments. I was trying out new things, because the game was starting to feel way less interesting than it was at the very beginning. And now I think that the reason was it becoming too easy. The points didn't seem important and you could crash as much as you like. So…
- v1.0.7.0 Non-VR update - 2 March 2018
Changes: Added support for playing without VR Added (optional) reflections Optimized the Classic mode Classic: Improved collisions Bunch of various tweaks (including drifting, visuals, etc) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQK-oMi0lBA
- v1.0.6.1 Notes - 19 February 2018
A quick update adding a requested feature. Added a "Force Neon" toggle Some fixes
- v1.0.6.0 Getaway update - 18 February 2018
I wasn't very active for the most part after the last update, sorry about that. I was experimenting with a new mode (Getaway), in which you're protecting yourself with a weapon that fires automatically on the beat. I've decided to release it now to see what everyone thinks about it. Added a new experimental mode "Getaway" Realism: Made the gravity "more realistic" Realism: Removed the invisible walls Realism: Tweaked the handling more Tweaked beat detection Bug fixes (fixed falling outside the map in Realism) Let me know what you would like to see done next!
- v1.0.5.3 Multiplayer update - 6 February 2018
Added 2 player co-op online multiplayer (should be played on LAN or a really low ping) Improved song loading analysis Added a traffic cars count slider Tweaked and fixed a bunch of things
- v1.0.5.2 - 2 February 2018
Realism: Significantly increased the speed and improved handling Classic: Increased the speed a bit Added a speed multiplier slider Removed the "Deferred rendering" option Improved the rain effects Fixed clouds sometimes moving too fast Improved and added more buildings Some more small tweaks and bug fixes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2P8ccmq4j28&feature=youtu.be
- v1.0.5.1 - 31 January 2018
Added a new option "Deferred rendering", which allows more lights, but currently decreases the anti-aliasing quality Fixed the drifting bug using VR controllers Improved Classic mode trees Some small graphics tweaks
- 1.0.5.0 Update - 31 January 2018
In this update, I've added a new mode Realism and kept the original mode Classic as a separate one. Since the Classic mode was using my own custom physics and continuous track generation, I wasn't able to do most of the suggestions I was receiving. But now, with the new mode I've added more realistic physics with chunk-based track generation which gives me more freedom in adding more features. Added a new mode (Realism) containing more realistic physics, completely different chunk-based track generation and a new city environment Added a new traffic car Increased the amount of traffic cars Tweaked/improved the rain effects and graphics Graphics optimizations More bug fixes and small tweaks
- v1.0.4.3 Notes - 27 January 2018
I wasn't able to work lately, so I wasn't very active, sorry about that. Either way, I've just finished a new update! Added an "Endless (Local Files)" mode Improved/fixed rain drops on the windows Fixed car doing a random quick turn while drifting Fixed beats not appearing at the start of boost Some other fixes and tweaks
- v1.0.4.2 - 20 January 2018
A quick update adding local scores back.
- v1.0.4.1 Notes - 19 January 2018
In this update I removed the leaderboards as they don't really add much to the game, yet they are causing problems. I noticed that the score doesn't really matter to me or anyone else I see play. So I just removed it completely. I'll just focus on the making the game be a fun experience. Optimized graphics performance Turned boost into a bonus environment Added invincibility time after crash and boost Removed leaderboards Improved the crash animation Added back some things like the headlights Replaced hands with the actual VR controllers Made the steering wheel controllable from any distance with the VR controllers
- v1.0.4.0 - 15 January 2018
This update took a bit longer as I was experimenting with some things... This time I've done some bigger changes. Here's the list: Combined all gamemodes into a single all-in-one gamemode Removed the Rally gamemode for now Added back the crash animation Internal cleaning up More optimizations/bug fixes/tweaks Here's a gameplay video of the new update: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1DgJa1KtkA
- v1.0.3.0 - 8 January 2018
This is a bigger update containing a new gamemode, changes to older gamemodes, fixes and some new stuff. New gamemode (Rally), which has different (realistic) physics and new track generation Added rain on windows effect Improved audio analysis Decreased the maximum speed Optimizations Added support for more audio file formats (ogg, aiff) Fixed reading of some file formats Bunch of various tweaks and fixes
- v1.0.2.1 - 1 January 2018
* Redone car engine sounds * Realism: Added more background visuals * Arcade: Improved background visuals (made them bigger and "more 3D") * Added simple test driving in the main menu I'm thinking of adding online multiplayer and even though I haven't yet decided how I'm going to do it, I'm already experimenting with some stuff (test drive in the menu is part of it).
- v1.0.2.0 Update - 31 December 2017
* Optimized frame rate and fixed minor stutters by changing the way physics work again * Added leaderboards * Added a boost mechanic * Cleaned up the menus * Added a "How to play" menu * Added control settings * Made turns sharper * Made the built-in cars selectable * Improved Realism environment * Increased Arcade sky intensity * Bunch of other small tweaks and fixes Happy new year everyone!
- v1.0.1.2 Notes - 27 December 2017
Realism: Optimized frame rate Realism: Redone lighting Realism: Fixed cloud stuttering Realism: Made the turns sharper Realism: Added fireworks Realism: Made the speed intensity exponential Removed game over crash in all gamemodes Added a rear-view mirror (disabled by default for higher FPS) Some bug fixes Now I'll try to think of a good score system for Arcade and Realism. Then I'll add leaderboards and after that I'll be working on the workshop support again!
- v1.0.1.1 Notes - 24 December 2017
This update was focused on improving visuals. Added and improved some visuals Fixed Realism cloud movement Some more small tweaks
