  • The Eve Of HallowAIn Returneth - 30 October 2023

Spooky Greetings Everyone, In case you are already in the mood for some eerie shivers, don't forget to play Rainbow Reactor before October 31st is over. Otherwise, you'll miss the only time of the entire year when Dottie's AI will be possesed by some unholy software glitch, a cursed code of the darkest origin. In other news, we have recently been asked about the status of a SteamVR version of Rainbow Reactor: Fusion. We still have not given up on the Steam version, but the problem is that it would take a lot of work to improve the graphics of the mobile version to be more "PC worthy", and from our recent experiences with our latest VR game Snow Scout, we know that the game will probably not even make enough money to make these graphics updates worthwile. So what do you think about it - would you also like to play RR:Fusion with only slightly improved graphics, or would this be a no-go?…

  • Celebrating Snow Scout With A Discount - 22 March 2022

Hey Everyone, We just released our new game SNOW SCOUT on SteamVR Early Access and to celebrate this, we're having a bunch of discounts - A 10% launch discount for Snow Scout and a whopping 80% discount for both Rainbow Reactor and its soundtrack. The latter now also contains all the new music for Rainbow Reactor: Fusion, the vastly expanded Meta Quest version of the game. To tell you a bit about Snow Scout; it's an adventure game on skis that combines exploration, job simulation, adventure and communication with a virtual person in one game. We released it as an Early Access title, since it still needs quite a bit of polishing and bug-fixing, and this format has worked very well with Rainbow Reactor 3 years ago. Of course we know that Early Access is not everyones cup of tea, but if you'd like to get a glimpse into game development, it could be interesting. Also, we will reward your co…

  • Happy New Year … In A Double Sense! - 28 January 2022

Hey Everyone, It's time to celebrate the Chinese New Year as well as Dottie's 3rd birthday. We released Rainbow Reactor in January 2019, and those years really flew by … We are happy that after a somewhat rocky start, the game blossomed and was quite well received … with many updates, we nurtured it from a defenceless cub to a proud tiger, who now seems to enjoy its golden years, as its gotten a lot more quiet around the game. This is in part due to the fact that the follow-up has been released for Oculus Meta Quest. Rainbow Reactor: Fusion adds a full blown adventure story to the tried-and-true chroma ball throwing. We still have the Steam version for it in the making, but the problem is that we just do not have any time to remodel all the graphics to PCVR specs, and we don't want to disappoint anyone with a simple "Quest port". Currently, we are very busy getting our next game "Snow S…

  • The Cursed Eve Of HallowAIn Cometh - 28 October 2021

Hello Everyone, You are surely aware of the coming arrival of HallowAIn, a time where any artificial intelligence, be it Alexa, Cortana or Siri, is prone to be posessed … And you have probably noticed that our HoverBot Dottie has a bit of a "strong personality" herself - there seems to be a lot of depth to it. Deep in the bowels of her A.I. Core there is a hidden glitch, a split personality created from past trauma, that will only come to light during that special time of year. And then, Dottie will turn into her evil twin Pumpitty McDotkin – so beware and start the game on October 31st at your own risk! Those among you who also have an Oculus Quest and have reached the "true ending" of Rainbow Reactor: Fusion will of course know a bit more about the traumatic events that slumber deep in Dottie's core. At the moment, we are still wondering how to proceed with the Steam port of that game…

  • Rainbow Reactor: Fusion is out on Quest => Free OST Upgrade - 16 September 2021

Hey Everyone, To celebrate the release of our new game Rainbow Reactor: Fusion on the Oculus Quest, we released a free upgrade to Rainbow Reactor's Original Sountrack. That way, this OST now contains the complete music from both games :D As some of you may already know, Rainbow Reactor: Fusion is a port of the Steam version to Quest on the one hand, on the other though, it features a full blown story mode that has you fixing up the reactor building under Dottie's watchful eyes. So aside from the arcade gameplay you all know, there are now a bunch of other typical VR activities that will keep you occupied for 3-4 hours, depending on how much you want to know about the back story of Rainbow Reactor ;D We are also planning to release the game on Steam, but since we are a small team, we had to push back the release date, as we do not want to release the Quest version on PC without any upgra…

  • Rainbow Reactor now has Trading Cards :D - 2 May 2021

Hey Everyone ːDottieSmileː Being able to make this announcement makes me extremely happy ːDottieHeartː Probably, you already have an idea what I'm talking about from looking at this text ːDottieWinkː RAINBOW REACTOR NOW HAS TRADING CARDS ːDottieWowː ːDottieHeartː And of course, with great trading card comes great responsibility - in the form of emoji, and now we can all finally have DottieMoji, a thing that everyone definitely needs in their life ːDottieJoyː The reason why I'm really proud about this even goes a bit deeper, because in order to have Steam trading cards for a game, the game has to reach a certain size first, and this is not easy at all - after all, Rainbow Reactor needed almost two and a half years to grow so far. And before that point, actually, games don't even count into owners' game library and achievement count! This is something not everyone realizes, and since the…

  • Rainbow Reactor: Fusion announced with first trailer :D - 24 April 2021

Hello Everyone, Finally, we can show you what we worked on the last six months: A Rainbow Reactor spin-off with a full Story Mode! The new game will be called Rainbow Reactor: Fusion, a little play on words, as the gameplay is a fusion of the classic Match-3 formula with story-based exploration. This time, you don't play a loader bot, but yourself! You have learned that some distant relative of yours is the eccentric Professor Alfred Luzian von Hoffenhasselbrock, inventor of Rainbow Energy, and he needs your help. Who cares if this is probably a case of mistaken identity - the Rainbow Reactor has fallen into a state of disrepair and apparently, no-one else is able to tolerate Dottie and carry out the much-needed repairs! Here's the trailer: The game's story will last for about 5-6 hours if you 100% it, and we hope everyone can have fun with the several different tasks, tools and difficu…

  • BIG APRIL GIVEAWAY! - 1 April 2021

Hello Everyone, we want to announce the announciation of a coming announcement! Well, right, today is the 1st of April but this is no joke: Later this month, Rainbow Reactor: Fusion will officially be announced! We will launch the first trailer and try to get some attention in the community, but also, we want to celebrate the work of other VR developers ːlunar2020hearteyesrabbitː This is why we will be having a BIG GIVEAWAY where we'll give away 33 Steam Keys for other developer's games, with big titles like The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, Dirt Rally 2.0, Pixel Ripped 1989 and many others ːwinter2019happyyulː This is the link to our Official Tunermaxx Discord: https://discord.gg/4XStG6Swvp Since we have only 60 people on there at the moment, the chances of winning should be pretty epic! So keep your eyes open in the next 3 weeks … We'll start with a big Virtual Egg Hunt this coming…

  • Happy Lunar New Year! Hot News Are Coming … - 11 February 2021

Hello everyone, we've been mostly off the radar these last couple weeks, as we're super busy working on the next Rainbow Reactor game, which will have an official release on Oculus Quest, before coming to Steam a bit later. If you want to keep track of all our developments (and try your luck in some some giveways), please join our Discord server: https://discord.gg/4TvMWDrYJR But for now, it's time to celebrate the Lunar New Year! Of course there's a big sale on Steam, and we are happy to participate, adding a 70% discount to Rainbow Reactor as well as a 50% discount on the game's Original Soundtrack. And people who don't have either of the two yet, can grab the bundle, which is discounted by about 71% :D We also have a completely free New Year's Present in store: Those among you who use the Signal messenger app and would like to represent VR in their chats can get this free Dottie Stic…

  • Happy 2nd Birthday, Rainbow Reactor (and Dottie) - 15 January 2021

Hello Everyone, On January 15th, 2019, we launched Rainbow Reactor as an Early Access Game on Steam! A lot has happened in that time, we have improved the game through your feedback and a lot of updates, and it was a super interesting journey for us! Here's a little look back at the very early development of the game, up to the launch of it's "Music & Rhythm Update": Now, we can proudly announce that we are working on a new VR game that will officially be releases on Oculus Quest, and a bit later hopefully on other platforms as well! Head over to our newly minted Discord if you'd like to know more :D https://discord.gg/FR6UUZTy3z All the best from The Rainbow Reactor Team =)

  • Harmony On Discord - New Game & Giveaways :D - 9 December 2020

Hello Everyone, we've been a bit quiet lately, but the reason for this is that we are working on a brand new VR game! We have to admit, Rainbow Reactor was off to a slow start, but we constantly improved the game and learned a lot, and now the game spent quite some time in Steam's top 10% of VR-Only Titles and it's got a bunch of really nice mentions, like being featured in BenPlaysVR's Steam sale picks, or VoodooDE's "the best VR games" video. So we took quite the leap of faith and funded a "real" company - the Tunermaxx GmbH - in order to be able to work on new titles in a professional setting. And the really big deal about all of this is that we were able to get the attention of a major player in the VR business - so keep your eyes peeled for our big reveal, which will be coming to our brand new Discord server first. If you like, head over to https://t.co/tmLudX2hQQ?amp=1 and be our…

  • Halloween is Here, and Print's Not Dead! - 29 October 2020

Hello Everyone, The spooky season is upon us once more, and this year it's even scarier than usual! An invisble, remorseless killer is on the prowl outside so it's probably better to stay indoors and just play VR! We're celebrating October 31st with a special surprise which can only be experienced on that day, so be sure to start up Rainbow Reactor, if you have it in your library. And if not, now would be a really good time to add it to your bag of treats, as it's currently 67% discounted! Yeah, Steam somehow didn't allow us to make a discount of 66,6% - no idea why they are so boring in that regard ;D Another nice piece of news is that the VR world finally got its very own printed magazine - fittingly titled the VR TREND MAGAZINE. And guess who's in it - Rainbow Reactor! I think it's safe to say that these fantastic people deserve all our attention and some candy, too - so if you like,…

  • Breaking Even – Time To Celebrate :D - 17 August 2020

Hello Everyone, we've been nagging long enough how hard it is as first-time VR developer to make any money - so of course we'd like to share good news with you too, as soon as they happen. So now, after selling Rainbow Reactor on Steam for 20 months, we can finally reveal that we broke even on our production cost of around 5000€ ! This is not a huge sum of money by any game's standard, and to be honest, Rainbow Reactor would've cost over 10 times more if it were a fully paid project. But we are happily working on the game in our spare time, so we're only counting what we had to actually spend in hard-won cash to get some things on board we couldn't have done ourselves. And right after launching the game, it didn't look like we'd ever see that money again, to be honest. There are just too many VR games out there on Steam to get noticed, in total there are about 4000 now, out of which 90%…

  • A Small Service Update - 4 July 2020

Hello Everyone, We released Rainbow Reactor Version 91 today. This is mainly a stability update which improves the game's startup, especially for people who have problems with their internet connection or a PC which is not the strongest for VR apps. In some cases, starting the game for the first time could take up to 60 seconds now – subsequent startups should be much faster & more stable though. If you are in the mood to send a tip our way, you could snatch up the game's newly improved OST, write a Steam review about our update policy or recommend the game to your friends ;-) Have a nice weekend and for those in the US, a great 4th of July :D All the best, The Rainbow Reactor Team

  • Community Update To Game & OST :D - 25 June 2020

Hello Everyone, The Steam Summer Sale is here and for us, this is a great opportunity to celebrate with the fantastic VR community! It's no secret that while Rainbow Reactor does well and ranks in the top 5-10% of VR-only games in Steam, this is not an area where you make money, due to the small user base. From our experience, only the top 1% can make back their investment with VR at the moment, but for us, this doesn't matter too much, as we have great fun with all of you guys! So our take is to be patient, make the game grow and make a lot of noise for VR while doing so, so the community will become bigger, ultimately enabling more and more indie devs to create financially sustainable VR games :D One big source of motivation this year was the German Remix Competition held by the popular local blog VR-Legion.de - there were lots of great entries and prizes. To share the fun we had with…

  • Party Time! - 5 June 2020

Hallo Everyone, it seems the situation with the coronavirus is slowly getting better and a lot of countries and states are relaxing their lockdown measures, especially over here in Europe. It can't hurt to be extra careful, but even if you're still hunkering down at home with your family, you can still have your own little party with two or three people! For those occasions, we listened to our player Shapeshifta who asked for more streamlined sessions in Party Mode. We originally thought of this to be a mode for big events where every single contestant's name is entered by hand on a physical keyboard - but for a smaller group of players, this can be done much better! So now you can enter a list of player names using a software keyboard - you'll see it floating to the right of Dottie once you enter name entry mode. Put in the names of everyone who wants to play and then, the name of the…

  • Update #76 for more Stay-At-Home-Fun - 17 April 2020

Hello Everyone, times are a bit crazy with Coronavirus running rampant in many countries so many of us have to stay at home. For us as a small indie team from Finland and Germany, not much has changed on our game development, as we collaborate using the internet anyway. Still, it's kind of bad for us that we lost a bunch of paid jobs to the situation, but things could be much worse. At least now we have time to get to work on some deeper layers of the game – a lot of work has been done "under the hood" so the latest dowload is 789 MB, which is almost the size of the entire game. A lot of this stuff is meant for future features and collaborations we're currently working on with some 3rd parties and we may not speak about those yet. Still, you can see a lot has changed as the game is much more physics-based now. VR games evolve in a breathtaking manner and after playing stuff like Bonewor…

  • Update 75 is now live, with another community request :D - 29 February 2020

Hello Everone, it's that time of year again … or rather, that time in every fourth year – February the 29th! So first of all, Happy Birthday to all among you who were born on this day some years ago – we hope had an incredibly cool day today, with your rare Birthday even falling on a Saturday :D Time for all of us to celebrate too, so we just put Update #75 live. This one (and the unreleased #74) feature some regular bug fixes and improvements under the hood, but the most noticable feature is a thing that was requested by our longtime fan, Youtuber Hoshi82 - also known as "The Angry German VR Game Nerd" - and it is to stop Dottie from claptrapping all day! At the push of a button, you can now make her skip the current line, no matter what it is. So wether you want to speed up the countup at the end of the level, or you're just tired of being told that you just created another residue re…

  • Now With LIV Support - 5 February 2020

Today, we released Update #73 for Rainbow Reactor. There are some fixes and stability improvements, but the major difference to the game's code is one that you cannot see at first glance: We have now included a LIV interface, so content creators and video enthusiasts can now make mixed reality videos featuring Rainbow Reactor! For more information on this software, head over to the homepage https://liv.tv/ It can be used to create really cool mixed reality videos, where the player appears to really be "inside" the virtual reality environment. Awesome stuff, we're looking forward to the first results from the great VR community. Speaking of which, German youtuber Hoshi82 was so kind to model for us so we could create this incredible news preview thumbnail: In other Rainbow Reactor related news, the German VR webpage www.vr-legion.de is currently hosting a remix competition where musician…

  • Update 69, Unlockables and OST out now! - 25 January 2020

Tirelessly, we keep improving Rainbow Reactor and our Update #69 just went live. Once again we made some visual changes, improved game controls and added unlockables. But the real news is that if you have too much money and not enough Synthwave, we may be able to help you ;-) But let's talk about the unlockables first. For the first time ever, you'll be able to change the look of our flying HoverBot Dottie through the (relatively) new Museum Tour. We've added some exhibits on pedestals, and once you've beaten the 5th Work Shift of the game, you can touch the model of a SOY9000 HoverBot in the Blue-And-Orange styling of a Riegfried800 to change the look of your robotic supervisor. if I say "Bub" and "Bob" now and you still don't know what I'm talking about, nevermind! Just try it in-game :D In any case, the real luxurious eye-candy is reserved to those upper 1% (literally, when I look at…

Welcome to the future! In this fun-packed VR game which is easy to understand but hard to master, you

About this game

Update Notes Now with Valve Index Controller support - Finger tracking, grabbing and throwing :D About the Game ATTENTION: THIS GAME REQUIRES HIGH-SPEED CONTROLLER TRACKING Unfortunately, Steam removed some VR compatibility indicators, so we have to put it plainly here: Rainbow Reactor uses extremely accurate physics that only work with high-speed controller tracking. This means that throwing accuracy can suffer greatly from using wireless solutions like Air Play, Virtual Desktop etc - depending on your setup. Also, the game does not support lower frequency positional tracking like what is used in WMR for example. In short, it is advised to play this game using external tracking like lighthouses. On a side note, this makes this game an ideal tool to find out how good the inside-out tracking of HMDs and also the speed and reliablity of your wireless transmission is. // end of Public Service Announcement // Welcome to the future! In this fun-packed VR game which is easy to understand but hard to master, you'll help to provide an entire city with the future's very own and very clean Rainbow Energy - at the RAINBOW REACTOR! Normal operations have collapsed when the loading crane malfunctioned. Now it's up to the player, controlling a clueless Cleaner Bot, to load the reactor manually. Not an easy task, as the chromium balls which are full of precious energy are very volatile. Any mishandling could end in disaster… FEATURES: - 9 levels of rising difficulty and additional features and hazards - 9 groovy Synthwave tunes which are synched to the action - "SINGLE SHIFT" mode with modifiers for higher or lower difficulty & score - "PARTY MODE" for localized play with individual name-entry for the leaderboards - 11 different leaderboards to compare scores with your friends or the whole world - 17 unlockable achievements - "Museum Tour Feature" lets you teleport and explore the reactor room - Index Controller support - Colorblind Mode (see news article for details) - Downloadable manual (see right hand menu on Steam Store page) - High-End visuals without any use of pre-made assets - aimed at perfomance GPUs - Funky music & punchy sound effects - Spoken l…

Price History Overview

USD uses SteamPulse's own locally recorded daily store snapshots, so this overview reflects the exact regional price history that SteamPulse has captured for this currency.

Coverage And Tracking Window

  • Snapshots: 1
  • Coverage: Sep 24, 2026 to Sep 24, 2026
  • Lowest observed: $14.99
  • Highest observed: $14.99

Rainbow Reactor's USD price history spans from Sep 24, 2026 to Sep 24, 2026, with 1 recorded snapshot across 1 calendar day. Each row records the available final price, listed base price, and discount metadata for that observation. Within this coverage the lowest recorded price is $14.99, the highest is $14.99, and the first visible tracked price is $14.99. These comparisons apply only to the snapshots SteamPulse holds; missing observations can contain changes that are not represented here.

For USD, SteamPulse uses locally captured regional storefront snapshots and does not reconstruct older prices with exchange-rate conversion. The chart and table show the values recorded for this exact currency from the stated coverage start. Additional snapshots extend that record, but they do not fill unobserved days or prove what the storefront displayed between observations.

Discount Windows And Sale Timing

  • Discount windows: 0
  • Discounted days: 0 days
  • Deepest markdown: No discount tracked
  • Latest sale window: No sale window tracked

Rainbow Reactor's tracked USD rows do not contain a discount window. This means no available snapshot in the stated coverage has usable discount metadata; it does not prove that the game was never discounted. Missing snapshots or archived rows without complete metadata can hide a sale, so SteamPulse does not infer pricing strategy from this absence.

If a later snapshot includes discount metadata, it will appear here with its recorded depth, price, date, and sale name when available. Until then, this section should be read only as a description of the available rows, not as evidence about the publisher's promotion policy.

Observed Price Changes And Stable Runs

  • Observed price drops: 0
  • Observed price rises: 0
  • Longest stable run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking
  • Current run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking

Outside rows carrying discount metadata, the tracked price has not recorded a separate price rise or drop yet. That means the observed undiscounted level has stayed stable across the snapshots SteamPulse currently holds. This is a statement about the recorded coverage only; it does not prove that an older or missing price change never happened.

The longest unchanged price stretch in the current record lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $14.99, from Sep 24, 2026 through Sep 24, 2026. Among rows without discount metadata, the longest unchanged run lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $14.99. The latest run records $14.99 for 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking as the same recorded undiscounted price. Run lengths describe consecutive stored observations only and do not establish that a price is permanent.

Latest Snapshot And Sales Context

  • Current price: $14.99
  • Current list price: $14.99
  • Distinct observed prices: 1
  • Source mode: SteamPulse local tracking

The latest tracked snapshot records Rainbow Reactor at $14.99 in USD, with no active discount metadata. Across the available history SteamPulse has recorded 1 distinct final price in this currency. This supports comparisons with the lowest, highest, and most common values present in the retained record, subject to the stated coverage limits.

The live sales view and Steam sales record provide calendar context for these dates. A date overlap can be compared with a named Steam event, but it does not prove why a publisher changed a price. As new daily rows arrive, this overview recalculates its observed prices, discount windows, and run lengths automatically.
