  • Announcing my new game! - 13 September 2021

My newest project is called Mars First Logistics and it’s about delivering lots of awkwardly shaped cargo across a rugged open world using your own mechanical creations! I’ve been enjoying the process of making this game. Instead of designing individual levels or puzzles, I’m making a set of toys and seeing what they’re like to play with in the game world, finding and exploring interesting interactions, with just enough direction so the player doesn’t feel lost. The game’s graphics are inspired by Lego instruction manuals. The simple black outlines and flat primary colours have a simultaneously playful and utilitarian vibe that I think suits the game. If it looks appealing, give it a wishlist :) https://store.steampowered.com/app/1532200/Mars_First_Logistics/

  • Fix for crash when windows path has non-ASCII characters - 27 June 2021

I fixed a bug that caused the game to crash when the path to the save file had non-ASCII characters in it. Sorry about that!

  • Dissembler unfolds new puzzles - 4 September 2018

Pleasant puzzler Dissembler has whacked in four dozen new puzzles for your tile-flipping pleasure. Y’know, Dissembler, the game about flipping tiles to make matches and clear puzzles away so you end with a clean slate – the game I enjoyed when it launched in February . The new puzzles include new tiles with new behaviours, creating some big headscratches and some pretty pictures like that cup of coffee. I’m so tired this morning I instinctively reached towards the screen. (more…)

  • Big update with 48 new puzzles. - 4 September 2018

I've just updated Dissembler with 48 new hand-made puzzles featuring 2 new tile types to wrap your head around. The first tile type is a diagonally split tile that allows tiles of different colors to be combined into one matched group. It also allows for more interesting puzzle compositions and I had fun making some pictogram puzzles, for example a puzzle that looks like a cup of coffee, or a fish. https://cdn.steampulse.org/steam/asset?u=https%3A%2F%2Fsteamcdn-a.akamaihd.net%2Fsteamcommunity%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fclans%2F31995658%2F54a25b64007611f61851a5fb5a31d9122a0152dd.png The second type of tile is a "linked" tile. If two tiles are linked then moving one causes the other to move as well. This creates some complex cause-and-effect chains resulting in some tricky puzzles. https://cdn.steampulse.org/steam/asset?u=https%3A%2F%2Fsteamcdn-a.akamaihd.net%2Fsteamcommunity%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fclans%2F31995658%2F870c7b2f77aad3c3d4390bf8580fafaaaab7c1be.png I hope you enjoy the update!

  • Colour-matching tile puzzler Dissembler flips out - 22 February 2018

Ian MacLarty is very responsibly tidying all his colours away in his new puzzle game, Dissembler . He has splashed colour about with gay abandon before, sending poor Pip into a tizzy with the shifting colourbomb that is The Catacombs Of Solaris and slopping paint all over in Action Painting Pro , but now he wants us to carefully clean colours away. Dissembler presents us with colourful jumbled collages of tiles to flip to align matching sets so they vanish. It’s a bit cheeky that Ian wants us to clean up the colours that he himself spilled everywhere, but I have enjoyed what I’ve played so far. (more…)
