Thanks to your detailed feedback, I was able to track down and squash some tricky, hard-to-find issues, making The Great Gaias even more polished. Your support means a lot, thank you! Bug Fixes Can no longer skip the Orgard camp trigger by walking south. Can no longer skip the 2nd dialog trigger in the Celestial Realm. Can no longer skip Lost Cove trigger by navigating mountains. You can no longer leave the Necromancers area without collecting the Necromancers Gem. Removed old pre-release text event in Alme. The Orgard Teleporter inside the Sorbithian Lexicron now works as intended. If Gerard teaches Atrius Mug it will no longer take 10,000 gold off your party. - Engine Update - 22 January 2023
We’ve just created a Beta Build branch for The Great Gaias. It has updated engine features which should prevent the horrible desktop crash when internet loss happens. While we believe this update shouldn't have any negative side effects to the game, we are not 100% positive that there could be some unforeseen issue that crops up from it. Because of this we decided to make it a beta branch before introducing it into the main build branch of the game. If you right-click on The Great Gaias and go to "properties" you can select "Betas" and find this build on the list. Not only should this fix the internet loss crash, but it should also allow Steam Overlay to work properly. Again, this build has not been tested yet. When we started working on Gjallarhorn over four years ago, we had a vision to make something new, something that beloved fans of both WRPGs and JRPGs could immerse themselves in. We are happy to announce that The Great Gaias OST is now available for download in the Steam Store! The original soundtrack to The Great Gaias features over two hours of symphonic music with a total of (52) songs. The soundtrack was originally created with an idea of and using music as the tonal based narrative driving the compelling story that we crafted. Inspiration was drawn from the old school RPG years of the SNES. The soundtrack was composed by Aaron Krogh and Bryan Davis. - Gjallarhorn Release Date Announcement - 4 October 2022
After two long delays we are finally ready to announce our official release date for Gjallarhorn, January 10th, 2023. We were really hoping to get the game out in November of this year but due to personal obligation Gjallarhorn had to take a backseat for some time. We are still thinking about releasing an early access version sometime during November, if so, I’ll make another announcement letting everyone know. The Great Gaias is also on sale this week at 50% off in celebration of our Gjallarhorn release announcement!
- Phase 3 Closed Beta - 26 August 2022
Phase 3 of the Gjallarhorn closed beta is now live. At this point we don’t expect many issues pertaining to game systems, so the focus of phase 3 and beyond will be story thread continuity and game balance. Because Gjallarhorn has a choice and consequence-based story design we want to make sure every story thread is tied up nicely. This will be the last chance to join the closed beta so if you are interested, please join our discord and private message me (Pots Talos). Phase 4 will only be made available to people who are currently testers and those who join up for phase 3.
- Gjallarhorn Closed Beta Phase 2 - 29 March 2022
We had originally hoped to have Gjallarhorn early access out by the end of 2021, but there were still some issues we had to iron out. So, instead we have been holding a closed Beta to help address some of the bigger bugs before we look to early access. Phase 1 of our closed Beta is coming to an end, and we will be entering Phase 2 of our closed Beta shortly. If anyone is interested in entering our closed Beta, please join us on our Discord. Phase 2 is for the first two chapters of the game. But it's the first two chapters for each of the four starting areas. Which should be a decent amount of gameplay if you decide to play each starting area. Please keep in mind that the closed Beta is pre early access so you should expect more issues during gameplay (crashes, stability problems, soft locks, broken systems).
