- More Improvements - 6 May 2020
Hi all, Once again, it's been awhile since we've updated Firebird, and this time we've made a few major improvements. Firstly, following our tradition of being heavily inspired by some of the classics, we've added a 'Gorf' like space shield that will absorb some incoming alien fire. Be warned though, it doesn't stop all alien weapons and ships can pass freely through the barrier. Luckily, barrier damage will slowly regenerate.. If you survive long enough! We've also added the ability to shoot down all alien bombs, (if you're fast enough.) Thirdly, we've made some performance improvements which should see some lower-end cards showing some smoother game-play. We've also taken this opportunity to improve the visuals in a number of areas, so Firebird is now even better looking. Enjoy all, The JimJams Games team.
- Autumn Update - 27 September 2019
Hi all, It's been a while, but in keeping with our intention to keep our games fresh, we've revisited Firebird. This update improves a few features, redesigns the docking element to the game, and fixes a couple of reported bugs. 1) The player can now shoot down the alien Big Airburst bombs before they detonate. 2) Improved docking to make it more obvious when the player is aligned with the base. 3) Improved the explosion for terrorists. 4) A failed docking now longer loses a life, you just don't get the bonus. 5) Fixed a few achievements that appear to have been broken in a previous update. That's it, We've still got a few plans for a couple of additional features for Firebird, which we hope to release just before Christmas. Thanks all, The JimJams Games team.

- Another day, another update. - 30 November 2018
Hi all, We've uploaded a small patch today that fixed a rare crash caused by changing some options. We've also taken this opportunity to improve the alien movement on the very final stage, so the aliens now fly continuously, and weave around the mothership. Improving both the look and the challenge of the level. In addition, we've fixed another rare bug, where sometimes the final level would just loop, instead of increasing difficulty and returning to the first stage. There's still a possibility that we'll have one more small update before Christmas, so watch this space. Many thanks for your support. The JimJams games team.
- Firebird Christmas update 2018 has landed - 27 November 2018
Hi All, It's nearing that time, and as part of our commitment to keep improving our games, our take on the classic space invasion genre has received an update. So, what's new? 1) 14 new weapons upgrades, giving the player more ways to kill! 2) 3 New killing spree achievements. 3) An improved, button masher style control system, 4) A new player supercharger for mass destruction. 5) 2 new stages, featuring new aliens 6) More deadly terror attacks as the enemy now deploy explosive drop pods. 7) Improvements to the ship docking stages. 8) Performance improvements. This build also addresses a couple of small gameplay issues raised by a handful of players, small tweaks mainly, but we're here to please :). We might have time to release another quick patch before Christmas, as we've not added everything we wanted to for this build, but we need time to update the rest of our range in time for Ch…
- Firebirds collide! - 12 June 2018
Hi All, We've today launched a major update to Firebird, partially aimed at addressing a few small issues raised by our players, but also to stay true to our commitment to constantly upgrade our games as new ideas emerge. For this update, we've expanded on our gameplay, weapons, achievements, menus and effects to bring you an exciting new build. Here's what's new. 1) Added new docking levels, partly inspired by the 1980's classic, Moon Cresta. To make it clearer, these addons to the players ship are now available from the start.
