- Telltale can "no longer sell" Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People - 31 May 2023
Original Story: Telltale can “no longer sell” the 2008 episodic comedy Strong Bad’s Cool Game For Attractive People , the developer announced in yesterday’s blog post . The studio have apparently lost the rights to the game and the series may or may not be pulled from storefronts soon, based on the slightly unclear wording of their notice. Read more
- Important Information for Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People - 30 May 2023
Unfortunately, we can no longer support Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People. We no longer have the rights to the IP and so we can no longer sell or support the game series. So, whether you’ve had a dance party with The Cheat or you poked fun at Homestar Runner, you can still download all your episodes from the PC digital storefronts where you bought the game. Thank you so much for playing. The Telltale Team
- Telltale's Wallace & Gromit and Strong Bad return to Steam - 8 December 2020
By the end of its run, Telltale was known primarily for adult-oriented stories in adapted franchises like Batman and The Walking Dead. But the studio's forrays with episodic adventure games began with some much sillier licenses, and now two of those original series have returned to digital distribution services: Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures and Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People (but you can play too). Like many Telltale games, these titles disappeared from digital distribution services following the company's shutdown in 2018, but now they're back courtesy of Telltale. Er, yes, that's the new Telltale , which picked up the rights to the company's name and many of its games back in 2019. Both Wallace and Gromit and Strong Bad are available on Steam and GOG for $14.99 / £11.39 / €12.49. They're both comedic adventure games in the style of, say, Monkey Island - much like…
- GOG announce a last call for Telltale Games leaving on May 27th - 23 May 2019
The sad saga of Telltale’s fall is due one last tragic chapter. GOG have just announced that all of the defunct choose-your-own-adventure studio’s games will be de-listed next Monday, May 27th at 11am BST. That includes Telltale’s own games like Puzzle Agent, and all three seasons of Sam & Max adventures, as well as licensed games like The Wolf Among Us, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Batman, and the excellent Tales From The Borderlands. The last of which has already been removed from Steam, though publisher 2K Games are working to bring it (and it alone) back, as reported by Eurogamer . (more…)
- Telltale Games confirm huge layoffs and majority studio closure - 22 September 2018
Following yesterday’s initial reports that Telltale Games were effectively shutting down, the studio behind licensed story ’em ups including The Walking Dead and Batman: The Enemy Within have confirmed the bad news. All but 25 Telltale employees have been let go (that’s 250-ish people gone, former members report), cut down to a skeleton crew to “fulfil the company’s obligations to its board and partners.” The studio say they’ve had “a year marked by insurmountable challenges.” Telltale haven’t yet confirmed quite what will happen to their past, present, and future games, saying they’ll talk about their portfolio “in the coming weeks”, but I wouldn’t expect much more from them. What a sorry mess. (more…)
- Indie Royale unleashes The Mash Bundle - 28 February 2013
It's time for a new bundle of PC games from Indie Royale, with this week's batch collectively called The Mash. This bundle of five titles includes something from Telltale Games, and no, it's not Sam & Max or The Walking Dead. Telltale's comedy adventure Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People headlines the batch . Also included are the team-based airship game Guns of Icarus Online from Muse Games; a martial arts beat-em-up called Kung Fu Strike: The Warrior's Rise from Qoocsoft; the platformer KRUNCH from LeGrudge & Rugged; and Delve Deeper, a turn-based strategy game involving Dwarven miners, from Lunar Giant Studios. The average price so far is $5.96, but paying $8 or more will get you Danimal Cannon and Zefâs Parallel Processing album for some easy listening. The bundle will be active until 5 a.m. PT (8 a.m. ET) on March 6.
