- Keeping Memories Alive - 29 September 2026
As a part of the EVE Evolved initiative, work continues to upgrade EVE Online’s client and server from Python 2 to Python 3. This work is important to ensure we are building on a solid foundation and to set us up for many more years of future development. House of Records This installment of EVE Evolved examines NPC agent memory, both how it manages the bureaucracy of tracking the ~100,000 missions given out every day, and some of the interesting challenges it poses, that might affect players in the future. In this blog “agent” refers to the NPC agents that inhabit EVE: those lovable characters that (sometimes rudely) ask you to haul their trash to another station, eliminate the latest pirate threat, or yet again save that poor Damsel, in exchange for a reward. Starting Simple Because you all love a good technical deep dive, we will soon get quite detailed. But for anyone who just wants…
- GM Week is upon us! - 28 September 2026
GM Week is upon us! Every year, the Game Masters of Fenris Creations like to spend one week celebrating you, our players, and the community that has grown around the EVE Universe. This year, the event runs from the 28th of September to the 2nd of October, with returning activities alongside brand-new ones. Come chase down GMs in space, search the stars for password-protected containers, be on the lookout for roaming GMs loaded with goodies, finish freelance jobs for the Game Masters corporation, or seek us out in higher security areas where we will hang out and mine, chat, and enjoy this world that we’ve built together. On the official EVE Online Discord server, you can find a section dedicated to GM Week. You can hop in to see messages about events and happenings, talk about what’s going on, and share ideas on what we could change or add to make the week more fun. Starting with the str…
- Cradle of War Major Update Is Live - 22 September 2026
Capsuleers, The Cradle of War Major Update has arrived. Ansiblex jump bridges now run on capacitor charge, Pirate Insurgencies move faster, wormhole combat sites are modernized, and ships across New Eden are rebalanced. The highlights are written out below, but if you want the gory details, read the Major Update announcement, review the patch notes, and check out the dev chat with FC Okami, FC Kestrel, and FC Swift. Force Projection UpheavalAnsiblex jump bridges hold a limited capacitor charge that recharges slowly over time. Every ship passing through spends some of it, with different hulls carrying different costs, and jump distance playing a big part as well. Once the charge runs out the bridge goes quiet until it recovers. Access is tighter too. Ansiblexes carry subcapital ships only, and only for capsuleers in the alliance that owns them. Coalition partners now need their own infra…
- Major Update: Force Projection Revamped - 15 September 2026
Capsuleers, Something is shifting in the fabric of New Eden and Anoikis. Strange changes are beginning to make themselves felt, their cause still unclear, and even the technology capsuleers have relied on for years is struggling to keep pace. The Cradle of War Major Update arrives on 22 September, bringing upheaval to some long-established parts of life in New Eden. Ansiblex jump bridges are changing significantly, introducing new limits on how alliances project their forces across nullsec. Pirate Insurgencies will become faster and more dynamic, Class 1 to Class 3 wormhole combat sites are being modernized, and further changes are coming to Pochven, ship balance, and more. Many of these changes have been informed directly by constructive feedback from capsuleers, including conversations with the Council of Stellar Management (CSM), Factional Warfare Parliament, Wormhole UN, and other c…
- HUD, Sweat & Tears - 14 September 2026
If you're just catching up, be sure to read parts 1 and 2 of this blog series! The third and final blog in this series is focused on the future. These are early thoughts, some are concepts, others are aspirations. None of it is set in stone, but all of it informs the decisions made today to ultimately achieve our vision of the ultimate science fiction. Capsuleers, When discussions started about evolving the HUD, it was clear we were touching something that capsuleers have built years, and sometimes decades, of muscle memory around. That is exactly why we wanted to bring you into the process early. But before diving into the future we want to take a moment and thank everyone who has joined the conversation, challenged our thinking, shared concerns, and suggested ideas. We started gathering feedback at Fanfest, and it has already helped shape the designs which we shared in the second blog…
- Evolution, not revolution - 26 August 2026
Hey everyone,In this second HUD blog, we go deeper into some areas of improvement we have identified with the current HUD, how we want to tackle them, and introduce some of the new functionality we want to add.One of our main goals is to make the HUD easier to read and interact with while making sure that the changes also allow us to add new capabilities that are welcome for players who have spent the time to build muscle memory around the current HUD but would want more capabilities. We are not in a rush to a full release; we will start with an opt-in phase, take time to gather your feedback, and iterate in the opt-in phase before moving to an opt-out phase, and eventually fully transition to the new HUD.We take any change to this established core interface seriously and have done extensive research sessions with both new players and veterans. We brought in a group of new players to mo…
- The Move to Python 3 Begins! - 25 August 2026
Capsuleers, EVE continues to evolve, as a part of the EVE Forever initiative, and it is time to cast the spotlight on the code itself! Underneath every gate jump, market order, and fleet fight in EVE Online, there is a very large amount of Python. It has run New Eden for more than two decades and now begins its transition to Python 3. For you, that means better tools to fix bugs sooner, room for new features, and a faster EVE over time. The definition of success for this migration is simple: it should be completely unnoticeable, aside from the occasional moment when something runs more smoothly. Many of you have already tested our first steps on Singularity, and those changes were deployed today. This is only the beginning of a long road ahead.A Codebase Older Than Some of You EVE launched in 2003, built on Stackless Python, a version of Python whose lightweight "tasklets" let a single…
- EVE Evolved: A New Horizon for the HUD - 14 August 2026
TLDR;The EVE Online HUD is evolving. The goal: better telegraphing, legibility, and clarity for every player. This is the first of three blogs on the project, starting with the why, the guiding principles and how players will help shape it. Evolving capsuleers,The ongoing commitment of EVE Forever continues through EVE Evolved. Over the next few weeks you will see a few topics discussed: the evolution of the HUD, modernizing our codebase as we prepare the move to Python 3, and some exciting lighting and VFX improvements. This is the first post of three diving into the journey of evolving the EVE Online Heads Up Display (HUD) so make sure to check back for upcoming instalments. We want to be transparent about the reasons behind the planned changes, have a conversation, and most importantly to get your feedback to shape the development, much like we did with the 2D map and Photon UI. Over…
- Operation Avalon – a united response - 11 August 2026
Denizens of New Eden, Operation Avalon has drawn to a close, changing the face of the cluster in the process. For two weeks, from 7 to 20 July, the war reached across two fronts, warclones deploying planetside in EVE Vanguard while capsuleers completed Avalon Investigationsabove, all working toward a single goal: to build Avalon, a haven for the warclones, away from the reach of New Eden’s empires. Whichever side you fought on, thank you. Every hauler destroyed, every cypher traded, and every successful extraction pushed this shared story forward. This was one universe and one war, fought two ways, and both communities answered the call. War Above and Below On the ground, warclones fought on the surface in EVE Vanguard’s first alpha playtest, deploying into the all-new Lost Convoy battlefield, trying out rebuilt gunplay and advanced weaponry, and risking everything in the redesigned ext…
- Rampant Drone Fabricator Sites Are Back! - 23 July 2026
Rampant capsuleers, The Gallente Election was your first chance to experience Rampant Drone Fabricator sites. Thanks to your feedback they are now being made permanently available in C1-C6 wormholes, with a couple of changes, specifically tailored to wormhole space. Face escalating waves of Rogue Drones, with the threat level now building based on a point system known as “Rampancy”. The escalating threats are determined by the ships in proximity to the Fabricator. The more waves you destroy, the bigger your rewards will be. Not only that, but because you were so good at these, we had to up the ante and increase the wave cap from 30 to 100. Translation: It’s hard! Can you prove your worth? Who will be the first to outlast all 100 waves? The extremely brave can attempt to tackle the sites solo (at least the first half – you’re unlikely to survive past 40 waves or so), but they are tailore…

More tips and in-game tutorials have been added to assist you with extraction and expeditions. And much more. Read the full patch notes for all the details. Operation Avalon in EVE Vanguard Now is the time to deploy into the Lost Convoy battlefield, master rebuilt gunplay and advanced weaponry, and risk everything in the redesigned extraction experience.
