- Developer Insights - Bounty Battle Arenas - 7 August 2020
Hey everyone, Today we're sharing more insight from the development team behind Bounty Battle! This week Dark Screen Games developer, Francois talks a little about the fighting arenas in Bounty Battle, the inspirations and designs. "As in all other games of the genre, you can choose your battle arena when the game mode allows it. These are 16 arenas at launch, with 4 which have alternative versions. It is possible that in the long term each hero, whether or not they end up with their own fighting arena, will be referenced in iconic areas, with mentions of each universe." Darkest Dungeon's Crusader standing vigil over his arena "For each fighting arena it was important to stick to a special atmosphere. We also have plans for future DLC arenas with events, platforms or other creatures that could potentially interact with our heroes! Also, each of these arenas would possibly have alternati…
- Developer Insight - Bounty Points - 23 July 2020
Hey everyone, Today we're sharing more insight from the development team behind Bounty Battle! Even if in practise the game is closer to a traditional fighter: (life, energy and resources bar,) if I’m being honest, I liked the idea of being able to make an 'Ultimate Fighter' for the indie world. But the "brawler" system which consists of modifying power and/ or gravity according to a % did not please me more than that. I hated the idea of a copied/ pasted system that brought nothing new or personal to Bounty Battle’s core gameplay mechanics. I do not remember exactly how I came up with the idea of adding a bonus to the head of an opponent, but that added some nice background to the fighters, and also allowed us visually to find out who was the party leader. Then of course, that led me to wonder "what to do with this bonus?". Well, yes, this resource could replace energy and everything c…

Pankapu can spawn Chii, a small floating spider that will actively support Pankapu by slowing down opponents, allowing you to take your tiiiiiiiiiiiiiimmmmmeeee... The Unslain can summon a new sword, this floating sword reinforcement will be useful in due time. What fighter would turn down extra weapons? Agent of Death can cause Death to appear itself, so watch out for what is coming down from the sky! Trace can summon a very strange creature, be warned if it attacks you, it can make you freeze on the spot! The Crusader can create a flaming, flying skull, which will follow them everywhere, this minion will curse your opponents as soon as it can...that doesn't sound fun! Why not add Bounty Battle to your S…
- Developer Insight - Never Give Up - 17 July 2020
Hey everyone, Today we're sharing more insight from the development team behind Bounty Battle! There will always be little known gems from the indie world, and I am delighted with the idea of one day being able to help by uncovering games that in my eyes deserve to be discovered (or rediscovered). Of course the purpose of this dream would be to be able to add all the possible characters into Bounty Battle, but let's be realistic; there will be creators who will not wish to participate. For others, the rights relating to the use of the character are too complex and still at the end I cannot have infinite capacity to bring attention to every lost gem. Of course I have already been refused, and I understand well the creators who find it difficult to trust a stranger even if I have all the good will in the world. However, to stop there would be to restrict oneself to wanting only "big" gues…
- Bounty Battle Delay - 16 July 2020
We’re sorry to say that we’ve had to make the unfortunate decision to delay the launch of our upcoming All-Star Indie Fighter, Bounty Battle. Our goal to provide an amazing couch co-op experience to our community is within reach, but we felt that we still had significant improvements to make that we simply could not achieve without a slight delay. Our community's experience is of utmost importance to us, so keeping that in mind we decided to take the time we needed to deliver Bounty Battle as intended and intact. This means that Bounty Battle will no longer release on the 23rd July as previously announced. We will update the community as soon as we have a new release date to share with everyone! We would like to take this time to thank you all for your patience and understanding while we resolve this. Thank you,

- Developer Insight - Advent of Indie Gaming - 9 July 2020
Hey everyone, Today we're sharing more insight from the development team from Bounty Battle! To create a game like Bounty Battle, you must above all be passionate about gaming, especially independent video games. For me, indie gaming arrived in around 2005 and I was instantly intrigued, with the scene only continuing to expand since then. From the early 2000s, my decision was made, I would be an "indie" video game designer ... Fortunately, in these years, the popularization of creative tools and broadband allowed many independent and small studios to begin creating these magnificent independent games. After years of learning, modelling and development, it was finally time to embark on my own project. Of course we did not start a "major" project without breaking our teeth on models and other more or less functional prototypes, (including 2 familiar faces to Bounty Battle fans, Ollaf and…
