  • 8 New Languages to Test: 简体中文, 日本語, 한국어, Русский and More - 30 September 2026

Code: Terraform can now be played in eight more languages. They are on the experimental branch today, and before they come to the main version for everyone, I would love native speakers to try them and tell me how they read. The new languages 简体中文 (Simplified Chinese) 日本語 (Japanese) 한국어 (Korean) Русский (Russian) Deutsch (German) Français (French) Español de España (Spanish, Spain) Português do Brasil (Portuguese, Brazil) Everything you read in the game is translated: menus, machines, research, transmissions, achievements, DOCS and the Code Lab lessons. Your code stays the same in every language. Python keywords, function names and the game's API don't change, so a script you write or share works for everyone. To switch, open Settings > Language and pick one. The game doesn't follow your Steam language on its own. The change takes effect straight away: on the main menu the game reloads…

  • Update 0.1.28: Titanium Sooner, 49 New Code Lab Lessons and a Faster Game - 24 September 2026

This update brings titanium within reach much earlier, a whole new set of Code Lab lessons, and a faster, smoother game throughout. Titanium now arrives much sooner. The Wide Sonar that finds it and the Industrial Drill that mines it both unlock far earlier, right in your early steam progression. I have been listening to all the forum and Discord and feedback posts that you have made about it and hopefully this is going to feel like a more refined and smooth progression. The Code Lab gains a Concepts half: 49 short lessons that explain the language step by step and how it works inside the game, from how get_component hands you a machine to scripts that run for as long as your colony does. Every lesson comes with examples you can run on the spot, and the first eight practice lessons now start you off with the shape of the solution, so you fill in the key detail. Big colonies autosave smo…

  • Retail v0.1.23 - 15 September 2026

v0.1.23 Fixed every save failing once a breakpoint was set from an external editor. Fixed saves that took minutes to finish, and stopped the game rescanning your scripts folder after its own writes. Fixed a black screen on startup caused by recovery files the game was not allowed to write. A save that cannot be read is now listed and explained instead of quietly vanishing from the list(e.x. the very rare situation that the OS temporarily blocks it (like AV scanning). The save list now appears immediately instead of looking frozen on a folder of long playthroughs. Hardened the pause menu so it can never write an incomplete save over a good one. Fixed Bluetooth audio on Linux going silent or stopping after a few seconds. Restored the game's desktop icon and name on Linux under Wayland. VS Code setup now explains what went wrong when it cannot finish, and Settings carries the manual steps.…

I have spent pretty much the whole weekend making a ton of fixes and additions to the game, so here is the list of the new things that you will see right now when you update the game: ==== Added Feed Maker Mk II and faster depot-handling upgrades. • Release Date Update - 25 July 2026

Due to some logistics related issues with my setup I will unfortunately have to delay the release of the game. There is some administrative work on my side that needs to be finished before the game can go live, so I have set the release date to Coming Soon rather than hold on to a date I cannot promise. I will post the new date once everything is confirmed, and that one will be final. Nothing is wrong with the game and nothing is being cut. It is paperwork, not development. What this does buy is time, and I am going to use it. Two things: More testing. The extra runway goes into play testing and balance, especially the later systems where a rough edge costs the most. The final game is very complex and includes vehicles, drones, factory lines with fabricators and smelters, weather, events, fulfilling Earth orders, and a lot more. The extra testing will go a long way to make sure that thi…

  • 10,000 wishlists - Release in 2 weeks ! - 13 July 2026

Hey everyone, 20 days ago I posted about Code: Terraform passing 5,000 wishlists. Today, the game passed 10,000 wishlists and the game is getting more daily wishlists than ever. 🎉 Saying thank you is obviously not enough, but I am really glad that more and more people are interested in the game. What I can promise is that I have done my best to make something worth your time. For anyone landing here for the first time: 🪐 Code: Terraform is a programming game. The planet is dead, you have a code editor, and nothing moves until you make it move. Drills, power, pipes, atmosphere, biology, all of it runs on scripts you write in a friendly Python-like language. There is no button that says "do the thing." You decide what the thing is and you write the code for it. The game releases in two weeks. If any of that sounds like your idea of fun: ⭐ Wishlist it, it's the single biggest thing that…

  • 5,000 wishlists - A MASSIVE Thank You All ! - 25 June 2026

Hey everyone, Code: Terraform just passed 5,000 wishlists. 🎉 I'm a little stunned, honestly. When I started building this, I wasn't even sure that this concept would resonate with people.I did hope that people would agree with my vision of making an automation/programming game where all systems can be fully programmed by players, allowing for a ton of different interactions that even I, who develop the game, cannot fathom. So sincerely, thank you. I can only promise that if you have already played the demo, the full game is not going to disappoint you. It's packed with carefully curated content, and a ton of systems that are going to keep you busy for some time while you terraform Nocturna. New here, or one of the 5,000? Code: Terraform is a programming game. You land on a barren planet and revive it by automating everything. Mining, logistics, power, atmosphere, biology, in a friendly…

  • We're in Steam Next Fest — welcome, and what's coming next 👋 - 17 June 2026

Hey everyone ! Code: Terraform is part of Steam Next Fest right now, and the free demo is live too. A bunch of you just discovered the game this week, welcome aboard. Hope you are having fun ! The response to Steam Fest this week has genuinely blown me away, thank you! Seeing this many of you dive in, and send real feedback is exactly why I'm making this game. New here? The 20-second pitch: Code: Terraform is an automation game where you don't click to do things, you write code to do them. Real Python-like scripts, a full in-game editor, console, and docs. Script a rover to survey and mine. Write the policy that runs your power grid. Your scripts keep running while you plan the next one. The more you automate, the more the planet, and the story, responds. Worth trying in the demo: Get your first solar tracker following the sun in a few lines of code. Send a rover out to scan the map, th…

  • Code: Terraform — free demo out now - 10 May 2026

The free demo is live. Try the first slice of Code: Terraform now. You've been sent to a frozen alien world. Your ship is silent, sensors offline. The only way to bring this place to life is to write code — real code, in a Python-flavored language with a full editor, console, and documentation built into the game. The demo covers the early arc: Boot your systems and calibrate sensors Write scripts that run autonomously Deploy a rover and harvest minerals Terraform the planet, give it life with oxygen, pressure, and heat Watch the atmosphere react to your engineering A few hours of content, and a clear sense of how deep the full game goes. ▶ Download the demo or wishlist the full launch at https://store.steampowered.com/app/868160/ I'd love to hear what you think — drop your feedback in the comments below or on Discord.
