The following features have been added: Expanded webm player support -- Opus audio support -- Added GBR444/YUV444 pixel support Added original h4m -> webm converted videos to the Movie folder -- Original resolution, not upscaled Updated the config tool allowing the user to enable/disable "Enable Remastered Videos" -- defaults to "off/false" The following have been fixed: Fixed timing issue(s) where the webm player was discarding frames instead of displaying those Fixed video resolution for 04010101 (1920x1080 -> 1920x1056) Fixed some sfx panning issues Thanks to your feedback, we hope these improvements provide an authentic killer7 experience. Killer7 is a game that's pretty hard to sum up and defies categorization. It's everything all at once - it's a bubbling pot of ideas thrown at the player which somehow manages to work. It's a frothing, fizzing thing that shouldn't hold together but absolutely does, and nearly 20 years later it's still held up as one of the greatest gaming experiences you can ever play. In this update we have implemented a large number of quality of life improvements and fixed various past issues. Here are a few highlights! Remastered Videos The videos of killer7 have been updated based on the GameCube videos and updated so that they hopefully play smoother! remastered all videos based on the original GameCube videos all videos now use webm instead of ogv Graphic Improvements Various changes have been made in order to improve the general graphic performance to give you all a better visual experience. more reload animations now use 60fps added MSAA support (it can be enabled in the config tool) added framerate limiter support (it can be configured in the config tool) upscaled more fonts upscaled more textures added BC7 texture support enabled DPI awareness to allow pro…

- No More Heroes developers Grasshopper bought by NetEase - 25 October 2021
Chinese publishers NetEase have bought Grasshopper Manufacture, the Japanese studio behind stylish, swaggering games including No More Heroes , The Silver Case , and Killer7 . While NetEase have roots in mobile games, they have been investing in fancier things. Grasshopper say that with NetEase's cash, they plan to release "three even higher-quality 'Grasshopper Manufacture Games'" over the next decade. Read more

NIS America teased the upcoming release of Killer7 in September with a trailer showcasing the game's cel shaded graphics and first three assassins: The Cleaner, the Hellion, and Four-Eyes. What it did not have, unfortunately, was any hint of a release date or pricing. Today the publisher revealed both, by releasing the game on Steam entirely without warning.  Originally released in 2005 for the PS2 and GameCube, Killer7 is a "cult classic adventure game" about a man named Harman Smith who suffers from a form of dissociative identity disorder, a situation further complicated by the fact that each of his distinct personalities is a deadly assassin. Killer7 is out now on PC, and one of the weirder things you can play this week. It’s a hallucinatory adventure-slash-first-person shooter hybrid about seven assassins (who may actually be one person) hunting ‘terrorists’ that are apparently howling, self-destructing demons. It’s bizarre, profane, allegorical, drenched in blood and a little bit punk. Originally launched in 2005 by Grasshopper Manufacture (and directed by Suda51), it’s still holding up great thanks to its sharp, semi-abstract aesthetic. With killer7 available now, we’re super excited to highlight some of the noteworthy updates implemented into this title as it makes the leap from console to PC. All drawn animation sequences have been upgraded to fit the new 16:9 aspect ratio offered by modern computer devices. You can see an example here. The entire game is rendered at 60 FPS except the “reload” animation. We found that increasing the frames to 60 FPS during the “reload” animation introduces unwanted artifacts at every other frame, so in order to keep the behavior true to the original, we’ve locked this animation to 30 FPS. NiS America has released a trailer for the Killer7 remaster that was announced back in May , and is set for PC later this year. Killer7 gives you control of the seven personalities of Harman Smith as he searches for the leader of ‘Heaven Smile,’ a suicide bombing group that's set on world domination. The trailer gives an idea of how well the cel shaded graphics fit with the overall look and feel of the game and introduces the first three assassins—or personalities—and their special abilities. Garcian Smith (The Cleaner) can resurrect others, Dan Smith (The Hellion) has Collateral Shot, and Kevin Smith (Four-eyes) can turn invisible.  You can check out the game's Steam page here , though there are no further details on pricing or a release date at this time.
