  • Psst hey, delightful puzzle game Windosill is now on Android too - 24 January 2023

After almost 14 years, I am still delighted by Windosill . It's still a joy to poke and prod at the wee indie puzzle game, tugging on orbs, spinning carousels, and jabbing at the many beaks and eyeballs and mouths and noises emerging from an ever-shifting box. It's such a reward for curiosity. And it still looks great too, with that unaging smooth vector art from developer Vectorpark. Now it's out on Android phones and tablets too. I bought it, and really enjoy how much a touchscreen adds to the tactile experience. Read more

  • Quiet as a Stone - Version 0.7 - 13 September 2021

Hello friend. It has been a while hasn't it? Here is a small update for Quiet as a Stone. I have fixed some bugs and things, I have even added some new content and features! It’s not as much as I wanted to do, and it's not as much as you all deserve but we make do with what time we have available to us don’t we? Now lets see… * Project updated to the latest version of Unity. Was a bit of a trial but this should bring with it some general performance improvements and so on! * Improved MacOS support. * Native Apple Silicon Support. * Photography Mode : The camera now has exposure controls. You can shift the current exposure up or down in 1/3rd stop increments. The default keys for this are ‘9’ & ‘0’. * Photography Mode : The current position of the photo camera is now represented in-game using a nice model. Handy if you want to put objects in its view. You can toggle it on or off using th…

  • The 8 most peaceful gardens in games - 24 January 2020

One Off The List is our weekly list feature. Is there something you think doesn t deserve to be on this list? Comment with your reasons why, and next week it may be struck off. Put the 9mm down, for crying out loud. Not every game is about shooting your enemies in the shin bones. Honestly. Give me that, here, take this trowel. Now, follow me, through this tranquil landscape of blooming daffodils and perfectly arranged stone paths covered in happy moss. Yes, that s it, you want a turn around the garden. A bit of soil on your fingers. And there’s more where this came from. Here you go, 8 peaceful gardens in which to calm your trigger-happy soul. Breathe it in, shooter. Breathe it in. (more…)

  • Quiet as a Stone Update 0.6.1 - UI Toggle - 19 July 2019

Hello everyone! It is very grey and wet here... hope the weather is nice where you are? A small update. . Added a toggle for the User Interface. Hit the TAB key to hide / show the UI. Could come in handy if using Steam's screenshot feature, which is the F12 key by defaut. Also I recently uploaded a player's guide for Quiet as a Stone which lists other features and controls. http://quietasastone.com/quietasastone_guide.html Bye!

  • Player's Guide / Manual - 15 July 2019

Hello everybody! Hope you are having a nice day? Here is the first pass of the Quiet as a Stone Player's Guide I probably should have put up ages ago. Hope you find it useful or perhaps mildly entertaining in some way. http://quietasastone.com/quietasastone_guide.html Also, the next little update of Quiet as a Stone will include a UI toggle option! :)

  • Quiet as a Stone - Update 0.6.0 (Create Mode) - 14 May 2019

A Quiet as a Stone update! 😲 Create Toggle. For freer and easier creation there is now an optional 'create' toggle on the side of the screen. Click this and you can place from any subset of items. Select using the on screen buttons or 1 & 2 on the keyboard. Place the item using the middle mouse button or the 3 key. The campfire no longer makes a sound whenever it generates a new memory. The version of Unity has been updated to 2018.4 LTS. Hopefully this should result in some optimisations too!

  • 7 toylike games to play during the winter holidays - 25 December 2018

Happy holidays! Time to see what s in your stocking. Oh, it s another copy of The Golf Handbook (Third Edition). And some toenail clippers. Great. No, honestly, that s fine. It s not like little Jemima over there is dashing about in her cool lion slippers, making you ache for an era of innocence and novelty that you can never revisit. And who cares if she s clashing her dinosaur figurines over the ruins of a Lego city? You certainly don t. Why, you barely notice as her damned wonderful slippers go rarr with every step. Oh well, better go set the table for dinner. No! We won t allow it. Turn that holiday frown upside-holiday-down, adult friend of mine. Children do not have a monopoly on fun. Here are seven playthings that ll make you click, smile, discover, and giggle. These are all toys as much as they are games, and they’re your real stocking fillers. Enjoy. (more…)

  • Diorama em up Quiet As A Stone skips onto Steam - 4 December 2018

Fans of pretty little scenes, dolls’ houses, landscaping, and clicking on things might fancy a look at Quiet As A Stone , a game I have for several months struggled to explain well. These wee rocks are floating in space, right, covered in trees and grass and rocks and things, and you can click to cut grass and break stones to get scenery pieces like plants and trees and walls and new rocks to redecorate the scene as you please. It’s a quiet and pleasant curio, and it’s now launched on Steam with a big update. (more…)
