  The Third Reich were bad enough to begin with, but now they’ve got squid-men there’s twice as much reason to gun them down in Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics . Developed by Auroch Digital, it’s a pure tactics game with some light RPG elements based on Modiphius’s pulpy Call Of Cthulhu spinoff tabletop setting – it’s out now. While superficially similar to XCOM, Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics seems more like Call Of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land with a dash of Hellboy. A team of military hard-nuts and mystics fight a secret war against Nazi mad scientists, occultists and monsters from beyond. • Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics slithers into stores on October 4th - 20 September 2018

  I’m no expert on eldritch elder fiends, but I’m pretty sure that you’ll need more than a WW2 SMG to bring down a Shoggoth – maybe the troopers in Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics know better, though. It’s a superficially XCOM-ish tactics game based on Modiphius’s Call Of Cthulhu spinoff RPG setting , building on the old trope that the Third Reich were dabbling in the occult. Stands to reason that they’d try to summon everyone’s favourite squid-faced alien sea-god. Developed by Auroch Digital, it was Kickstarted in February and launches on October 4th.
