Crossover fighter Dissidia Final Fantasy NT isn’t one I ever expected to see on PC, so debuting with a free trial edition makes sense. Originally launched into Japanese arcades and developed by Koei Tecmo’s Team Ninja, Dissidia NT is a messy online six-way team brawler. Players bounce, fly and clamber around large, open arenas trying to whittle down each other’s stats until one party of players stops moving. Its large cast features most Final Fantasy heroes, plus villains like Kefka, although your first few games will mostly resolve around wild, blind flailing. See the console launch trailer below. - Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Free Edition comes to PC and PS4 next month - 3 March 2019
Square Enix has confirmed that a free-to-play version of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is coming to PC and PlayStation 4 next month. The 3v3 brawler - developed in partnership with Team Ninja at Koei Tecmo Games - will be called, unsurprisingly, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Free Edition. It'll offer "the opportunity to try out a limited roster of characters on a weekly basis" and permits players of the free version to mix freely with those who've stumped up for the paid version. "A variety of characters and weapons are also available for individual purchase," Square says, (thanks, Gematsu ) so your favourite characters "can be a permanent member" of your go-to team. Following the epic boyband road trip of Final Fantasy XV , Square Enix now plan to let us create our own pop trios in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT . Today they announced the 3v3 crossover brawler, made with Dead Or Alive developers Team Ninja and released on PlayStation 4 in 2018, is coming to PC as a free-to-play edition. I think my dream pop trio might be Noctis, Kefka, and Sephiroth? Or Yuna, Lightning, and Noctis could be an interesting musical dynamic. Squeenix insist the trios do fight each other, but I assume it’s mostly about building and admiring your dream lineup. (more…)
