- A Strange New Flavor Bubbles Forth in the Soda Dungeon Universe - 16 June 2026
Hey everyone, it’s been a while (do I say that a lot?) So I’m not here to ruffle any feathers or yank any chains, but I do want to let you know that pox and I have been workshopping a lot of ideas lately. In fact, we even put together a little teaser image: We needed a healthy break after SD2, but it wasn’t long before we started dreaming of effervescent, multicolored glass bottles once more.Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and all of that.I can’t confirm any details about the teaser yet. New content? New game? It’s complicated! All I knew is that I couldn’t come back to the series unless I could do something a little bit… different. So I’ll leave it at that. But here’s the other thing, friends. I’ve actually been working on a brand new game for the last… well… three years at least? It technically started while we developed the Primal Lands update, but it gets messy. It’s a hand-anima…
- NEW GAME ANNOUNCEMENT! Designated Demigod, from 1/2 of Team Soda Dungeon. - 13 May 2024
Hey everyone! Shawn here from AN Productions. I’m the programmer/co-designer of Soda Dungeon, and I wanted to share my new project with you: Designated Demigod! It’s a turn-based combo RPG about a girl and her dog setting off on an adventure filled with gods, warriors, and a menacing research center. It's sort of a Paper Mario/ Street Fighter hybrid featuring hand-drawn animation, vivid environments, and high-energy combat. I've been working on it for almost five years now and I'm excited to finally be able to share it! While it does contain the turn-based DNA of Soda Dungeon it's not quite the same idle/farming experience. Consider it more of a "sit down in front of the TV and play with a controller" title. I hope it catches your interest, and that you’ll consider wishlisting! It would go a long way in supporting the project. Thanks! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2379160/Designate…
- Version 1.2.2 Released - 20 September 2022
Version 1.2.2 makes for another maintenance update. We fixed a few more small bugs and made some stability changes that should improve the mobile experience. But of course we had to toss in a few new gems and an oddity just for fun :) Three new gems can be crafted: Uranium, Platinum, Copper. Seven new legendary/mythic gems will now drop in the Primal Lands. New oddity available: Treasure Trasher. Fixed some small bugs and reduced memory usage to improve crash rates. Before I go I wanted to drop a quick plug for a new project I'm working on called Signy and Mino; It's a fighting game RPG! It's... much different than Soda Dungeon, but Soda Dungeon isn't going anywhere either. If you'd like to see an extended writeup about this, please see this thread on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/sodadungeon/comments/vnoysr/the_future_of_soda_dungeon_and_my_new_game/ Signy and Mino doesn't have a St…

- Soda Dungeon 2 Has Launched! - 9 July 2020
We're proud to announce that Soda Dungeon 2 is now available for Steam (WIN+OSX) and mobile! We want to give a heartfelt thanks to all the users that have helped us during our testing phases, as well as those of you that have just been patiently waiting for news. We have a ton of updates planned for the game and will be looking to start on new content as soon as possible. Please leave us a review or comment with your thoughts on the game, we'd love to hear it! We're also excited that we're able to launch the game in six different languages: English, French, German, Russian, Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese. Localization is no small task but luckily we learned some lessons from Soda Dungeon 1 that made this process easier. The big one was to make sure we avoided placing any text into images, because then you need to export unique translated copies of each image for as many languages as…
- Soda Dungeon 2 comes to Steam on July 9th! - 29 June 2020
This announcement has been a long time coming, so we'll keep it brief: Soda Dungeon 2 launches on Steam, Android, and iOS on July 9th, 2020! Thank you for being patient! We're eagerly awaiting initial feedback so we can start developing new content as soon as possible. In the meantime, join the conversation on our Discord, Reddit, and Twitter: https://discord.gg/sodadungeon https://twitter.com/SodaDungeon https://www.reddit.com/r/sodadungeon/ PS it's entirely possible that we meant to post this update last month and just forgot to click the publish button but who could ever really know, not us that's for sure.
- Changing The Formula - 8 May 2020
As we've touched on before, our goal has always been to maintain the feel of what made Soda Dungeon 1 enjoyable while adding to it and improving on it in any way possible. AKA "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." While this has been a guiding principle of ours, it also doesn't mean we wanted to copy Soda Dungeon 1 verbatim. We've talked before about brand new features and mechanics for the game like crafting, quests, and custom battle commands (Soda Script). But I also wanted to cover some of the smaller changes we've made to the mechanics moving forward into part 2. You can hire six team members There was always room for six, why not let players make use of it? There is now a separate "Status Resist" stat In SD1 you either had protection from status effects, or you didn't. Now there is a percentage chance depending what class you're using and what items you have equipped. We still have u…
- Before There Is An Endgame, There Must Be A Game - 20 March 2020
Hey everyone- I hope you're staying safe and quarantined out there! It's a weird time, for sure. So the endgame for Soda Dungeon 2 is something I see players ask about every now and then. In the interest of transparency, I wanted to give a short and simple answer: we have a list of content ready to develop but we need to see how you play the game first! See, Soda Dungeon 1 didn't really have an endgame until we realized that players were pushing far beyond the game's core 1000 levels. The relics + essence system were our way of saying "go nuts! have fun!" It wasn't until later that we added caps, the dimensional shop, the Lair of Despair, and more. SD2 follows a similar formula: Ten dimensions of story content spread across 1000 levels. And we can be fairly sure that many will grind beyond that this time. Here's the problem: SD1 and SD2 are still different games with different scaling,…
- February Progress Report - 17 February 2020
As we do our best to get Soda Dungeon 2 ready for launch we'll be looking to roll out more frequent updates. It's been about a month since our last announcement, so what's new? Bugs First, and probably least exciting: bug fixes. Although the game feels very solid now it's getting harder to add and update features without affecting other code that was written 2-3 years ago. Shout-out to the QA team at Armor Games (Ivan + Tasselfoot) for keeping us in check! Stables Last time I mentioned finalizing the stables and pets, which is now complete. Ten new little friends await! Items All items are now in the game. By my count we have about 170 total: 78 resources, and 92 pieces of equipment. For comparison, Soda Dungeon 1 launched with about 80 items. This increased to 126 after all of our updates. However, SD1 never had resources, so all of those were equipment. (we already have a lot more pla…
- Soda Dungeon 2, 2020 - 16 January 2020
Happy New Year! ..ish, sorry, we're a bit behind on that. The year is 2020 and that's exciting because Soda Dungeon 2 comes out this year! Here's what we've finished up recently: Story Mode All dimensions, quests, and character interactions have been taken care of. Bosses have more dialogue and more attack variety. We've also added little intro and ending cutscenes for the game, something that's a definite improvement from Soda Dungeon 1. We also tried our best to make new dimensions look more unique this time: All Characters Most characters and most skills were present for the final beta update but we finalized the tenth and final launch character. Cross-Platform File Transfers For the beta we introduced automated backups with your platform's cloud solution- ie, Steam Cloud, Google Drive, or iCloud. However, we've also brought back the ability to actually move the file between platform…
