  • Version 0.9.0 Release - 27 February 2020

    Version 0.9.0 has been released to closed alpha testers. Added new ship assets for all Gaian ships. Fixed an issue where the player could get stuck in the training mission and be unable to proceed by examining an enemy ship near the start of the mission. Fixed an issue where the ship card The Archleon King would have zero ship statistics, such as speed and power. Fixed a major layout issue with the stockpile (resource totals) shown on the user interface. Fixed a few minor issues with text positioning on card layouts.   • Version 0.8.0 Release - 15 January 2020

    Version 0.8.0 has been released to closed alpha testers. We've made some major visual improvements. For more information, check out the patch preview. New Features Added new assets for stars and planets. Added new ship assets for the Archleon Empire. Pressing F11 will now toggle display of the in-game user interface. Changed the lighting model from gamma to linear for more realistic rendering. Some parts of the interface may have changed color as a result. Added a higher-resolution background. Improvements and Fixes Upgraded the engine from Unity 2017 to Unity 2019. Expect some performance and stability improvements. Updated the text on some of the in-game menus. Fixed an issue where it was possible to select an empty hex after destroying the ship on it during the training mission.

    Version 0.7.0 of the game has been released to closed alpha testers. Added the training campaign, accessible from the main menu. The tutorial, introduced in 0.5.0, has been removed. For more information, make sure to check out the patch preview posted on the website. Good luck, commanders.

    Version 0.6.0 of the game has been released to closed alpha testers. This new release will automatically start the tutorial for brand-new players. We highly recommend you try the in-game tutorial if you haven't already.

  • 0.5.0 Release Notes - 29 May 2019

    Version 0.5.0 has been released to closed alpha testers. A training button has been added to the main menu. We highly recommend all aspiring commanders to press this button and go through basic training to learn the fundamentals of interstellar warfare. A feedback button has been added to the main menu as well. We strongly encourage that you press this button and fill out the feedback form so we can make the game better. This form can also be used to report bugs.

    This is our first patch. Added background music when playing a match against the computer or other players. Fixed a major issue where capital worlds would appear on the game board when starting a multiplayer match. Made some minor tweaks and fixes to the main menu.     This is the initial closed alpha launch of the game. Major Features You can start a match against a computer player with by pressing "Play Now" on the main menu, or by pressing "Setup Game" on the main menu. You can view existing multiplayer matches and start your own multiplayer match by pressing "Multiplayer" on the main menu. You can place ships and planets on the game board. You can attack with those ships to destroy enemy ships and conquer planets. You can win the game by conquering the enemy player's capital world. (Of course, this means you can lose the game if your capital world is conquered.) Known Issues There are some desynchronization issues that can occur in multiplayer. Card effects have not been implemented yet, although you can see information about card effects by examining cards. In the setup game menu, certain deck names are cut off in the user interface.   • The Closed Alpha Begins! - 22 December 2018

    We are proud to announce that Solar Command™ is available for download on PC and Mac via Steam with a valid alpha key. We would like to thank everyone who helped us reach this important milestone in the game's development. Every little bit helped, whether you tested the playable prototype, tried out a demo build of the game, or simply gave some advice. Please make sure to give us feedback about the game in its current state by filling out our feedback form here. We'll be doing our best in the coming months to continue to polish up the game and address feedback in future releases. We have many new features planned for the game, so make sure to check back regularly for game updates.
