  • Series-wide updates! - 10 April 2024

Hi everyone! I’m happy to announce that I’ve rolled out some minor but useful quality of life patches for all my finished games. Especially since a lot of people who played Memoirs are looking into my older (and even less polished) work :D. The Singularity Wish This is my first commercial game and you can tell it was where I learned a lot of the basics. I re-played it recently and was actually pleasantly surprised by how much I like it! Revisiting old games you've made is actually a really neat experience. Reminds me of when I used to write short stories. In the patch I’ve added a cheat mode and rebalanced the methods needed to achieve the best endings. One thing that’s always bothered me is how hard it was to achieve some of the rarer endings in this game, so I finally went back and made is slightly easier (or much easier if you use the cheats). A reminder that this game’s endings are…

  • Big new bug patch incoming - 8 July 2020

Hi all! Just an update that there will be an upcoming patch to fix various bugs and errors in the game. Shoutout to SamuelHans and other players who have been pointing out bugs. :D File size for the update will be negligible.

  • Upcoming 25% discount - 16 January 2020

Singularity: Tactics Arena will be available at a 25% discount starting 1/21!

  • Patch 1.01 - 23 December 2019

Patch 1.01 released to fix several issues, including: A glitch in Day 19 where the player is able to enter the caverns twice Bugged turrets for the support class A soul jar that can be sold multiple times various typos and errors.

  • Thank you - 17 December 2019

We have launched! I want to thank all my supporters and especially my backers on Kickstarter and beta/EA testers for making all this possible. It has taken me well over a year to build Singularity: Tactics Arena, and I'm very proud of the final product. It may be rough in places, with a few bugs here and there, some balance issues, and cobbled together assets. All hallmarks of the solodev process, but I am very glad to have made the game I wanted to make, without cutting any corners or making any compromises. Although my attention has switched over to my next project, which is both very similar and very different compared to S:TA, I will continue supporting this game with patches and updates as we head out from launch. My next step will be writing a game guide, although this may take some time and be released in increments, as S:TA is a surprisingly deep game. I expect to refine the sys…

  • Launch primed for around next week - 12 December 2019

I'm excited to say that I will be likely releasing the next patch, and officially launching the game, sometime next week. I have not found any significant, game-breaking bugs, although a few minor issues remain, such as sticky controls on certain gamepads and controllers. As I've said before, I will continue to support Singularity with regular patches and updates as needed.

  • Singularity: Tactics Arena is now 100% content complete - 25 November 2019

I'm glad to announce with the newest patch on windows that 100% of the content in the game is now live, save for some minor things such as credits. Moving forward, I will take some time to hammer out the remaining bugs and issues the game has, as well as some balance changes for combat. Then it'll be moving onto the full launch! The price will also be increased to match the game's transition out of beta/early access, so if you want it at a significant discount, now's the time to get it. The updated mac version will be released shortly. Thanks again for supporting me!

  • 100% content version coming soon - 11 November 2019

Just a quick update that the 100% content version is nearly finished, at this point I'm just finalizing some of the final "boss" fights, as well as balancing endgame equipment and economy (end game items are currently priced way too high). Additionally, I'm working on completing the stretch goal/optional area (Anomalie's arcade) as well as a sort-of-hidden sidequest.

  • Beta Version 0.563 live for Windows! - 19 October 2019

Hi everyone, Beta version 0.563 is now live for Windows, with a Mac version to come very soon. As promised in the last update, this version brings the game content up to 75% and adds on the Trauma system. The trauma system is a hard mode that adds permanent status modifiers and can be turned on or off by using one of the machines in the Augmentation room. Other changes include the addition of an error log, reworking critical hits, animation fixes, rebalancing some skills and items, and several major bug fixes, including (hopefully) reducing the occurrence of the battle placement crash. And probably a slew of new and exciting bugs! Also, moving forward, patches and updates will have more detailed changelogs. Let me know your feed back either here or on the discord: https://discord.gg/azkt8RD

  • Roadmap to Launch - 12 October 2019

We’re in the final stretch Hi all, so there’s some curiosity about how the current roadmap looks, and I’m pleased to announce that we are in the final stretch to a full launch. There are a few obstacles in the way (including one rather persistent bug that affects a small section of players), but I don’t anticipate any major issues. Next Major Patch The next major content update will bring the playable story up to 75%, introduce the Trauma system (which you can turn on and off at any point), and introduce a variety of bug fixes, optimizations and new features. The most important of which is how critical damage is handled (now scaling max crit damage to 1.7x rather than 3x+), a new function that logs crash errors and more. I expect this patch to be available sometime next week. Final Beta Version Following the release of this patch, I will be preparing the final beta version, which will i…

  • Early Access/Open Beta begins tomorrow - 1 October 2019

It's finally here! Early Access will begin tomorrow. Why Early Access? “We are nearing the end of development for Singularity: Tactics Arena. Our early access period is essentially an open beta. We are hoping that player feedback will help us fine-tune the game and remove any bugs. The Early Access version of Singularity: Tactics Arena is a little over 50% of the game’s total content, so the EA price reflects that.” Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access? “We predict the game will be in Early Access until late November, at which point the official release will be launched.” How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version? “A more content-complete, bug-free experience with several features (which are now missing) fully implemented. In particular: The story content as of Beta version 0.559 is only 50%. As the game is developed through Early Access…

  • Mac version ready, major and minor bugs patched - 2 September 2019

Hi all, Both the Mac and Windows versions are now available, and some feedback from testers has been implemented. If you would like a beta key or to join the discussion, visit our discord here: https://discord.gg/JCfVAhE

  • Update: Windows BETA is Ready, Mac Version Coming Very Soon - 28 August 2019

Hi all, Great news, the closed beta for windows is ready on both Steam and Itch.io. The Mac version is postponed slightly due to some technical issues, which may require me buying a new Mac to fix. If you want a beta key, contact me on my discord channel here: https://discord.gg/azkt8RD. Got 100 spare keys so it's first come first serve. What you should expect from the Beta: The first phase of the Beta will cover the first full 1/3 of the game. As the test period progresses, I will update the Beta until it covers 100% of the game, and eventually, towards full release. I am attempting to do this in such a way where testers can download new files and pick up where they left off, with all of their progress intact, when an update drops, but bugs may occur. There is currently no hard level cap. Players may level up their characters all the way to the soft cap of level 20 (after which no new…

  • The Beta is Finished, Closed Testing Period Coming Soon - 15 August 2019

Good news everyone! The first phase of the Beta has been completed and I’m getting ready to launch the closed testing period. What remains is a few administrative/technical tasks, such as uploading the beta to Steam and Itch.io as well as generating keys. I’m planning on creating keys for both Steam and Itch.io for Windows and macOS, but can’t guarantee they will come out at the same time. I am currently aiming for the week of August 26th as the Beta launch date. What can you expect from the Beta? The first phase of the Beta will cover the first, full 1/3 of the game. As the test period progresses, I will update the Beta until it covers 100% of the game, at which point the game will go into full release. I am attempting to do this in such a way where testers can download new files and pick up where they left off, with all of their progress intact, when an update drops, but bugs may occu…
