The game could close on startup If your display setting was Fullscreen, the game asked for that mode before its window had been created. On some hardware that ends the process rather than reporting anything — the game appeared to launch and drop straight back to the desktop, with nothing on screen and nothing to go on. The display mode is now applied once the game is up and running, and falls back to Borderless Window if your display does not offer the exact mode requested. Your setting is left as you chose it; it simply stops being applied at a moment when nothing can survive it going wrong.
