There were so many more issues with the music player that I was unaware of until now. I've implemented some new code that should stop audio from causing game crashes. It turns out the crashes were a result of a bug with the engine we use (Game Maker: Studio 2). I'm hoping they fix this eventually but for now I created a work around that users shouldn't notice. Let me know in the comments if it is all working properly now!
