• Silent Hill 2 sequel hinted by ominous Konami copyright message - 19 October 2022

  19/10/2022 A new YouTube channel named Silent Hill (Official) has been created, seemingly for the October 19 event. The description of this channel references that the event will feature "Silent Hill 2", and the metadata for the chanel's front page references "Return to Silent Hill" and an unannounced project "Silent Hill: Ascension". Silent Hill 2, one of the best horror games , has been subject to a variety of rumours regarding a potential remake. But as Konami plans to unveil the future of Silent Hill at an event on October 19, it seems something other than a remake of the 2001 classic may be a possibility, as a YouTube streamer receives an ominous copyright notice hinting at a possible Silent Hill 2 sequel. • Silent Hill arrives in yet another horror game crossover DLC - 31 January 2021

  Multiplayer horror party game, Dark Deception: Monsters & Mortals, has teamed with Konami for a Silent Hill-themed DLC. While the details of the additional content have yet to be fully disclosed, developer Glowstick Entertainment says all will be revealed soon in an upcoming showcase. An accompanying video teaser (thanks, Gematsu ) gives us the familiar crackle of radio static and includes the words "In my restless dreams, I see that town... Silent Hill", intimating the content might be from the fan-favourite second game in the series, Silent Hill 2. Read more

• Silent Hill creator leaves Sony to form new studio - 3 December 2020

  Keiichiro Toyama, creator and director of Silent Hill, has left PlayStation after more than 20 years at SCE Japan Studio. Toyama has formed a new company, Bokeh Game Studio, and is joined by The Last Guardian and Puppeteer's Kazunobu Sato, along with Gravity Rush lead designer Junya Okura and other former colleagues. During his time at Sony, Toyama worked on the Siren games and then Gravity Rush and its sequel for PS4 and Vita. Read more

  Konami has been upping Silent Hill's social media presence, and fans of the horror game series are getting excited. A new Twitter account, and some cryptic tweets from Konami itself, has more than a few thinking we might finally get a substantial announcement for the iconic franchise. Let's start with Konami's tweets . On July 31, the studio put up a video of the siren sound from Silent Hill 2, along with the caption "Close your eyes. Always scary. Silent Hill 2 siren.". This caused quite a stir, many taking it as the start of some promotion or other.   Though Silent Hill received an upgrade of sorts courtesy of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories on the Wii in 2009, the original 20-year-old game is one of few instalments of the psychological horror series that arguably hasn't aged well.
