- Dreamfall Chapters is now on Discord! - 14 February 2025
Long time, no see! But we missed you and actually have a small community update for Dreamfall Chapters… *Pretend there’s a drumroll sound here* Our Discord has been updated to include Dreamfall Chapters (along with our other older games)! This means there’s finally a place to discuss the fate of April Ryan or share fan art of Wonkers. We’re still working hard to create games we think you’d enjoy, and Discord is one of the best places to keep up to date. There will also be some exclusive giveaways for our old merch in the future, but you probably don’t care about that. Free merch… Given away for free… People tend to not like that kind of stuff. Anyway, we’d love to see you there! You can join through the QR code or just click this link.
- Wield weaponised words in Dreamfall dev's new game Dustborn - 13 June 2020
Red Thread Games, the Norwegian developer behind Dreamfall Chapters and Draugen, has revealed a brand new game called Dustborn. It's a storied, single-player action adventure about a black lady called Pax who recruits and leads a group of misfit friends with weird powers on a road-trip across the Divided States of America (that's how it's referred to). It's brightly coloured and looks like a graphic novel in motion, and it's going to have more action than in previous Red Thread games. Brilliantly, you'll also be able to wield weaponised words. They'll be fuelled by misinformation and used to fight, manipulate and motivate. Read more

- From Russia with Love: Version 5.7.6 patch notes - 20 September 2018
UPDATE: Due to miscommunication on our behalf, we neglected to fix a bug that affects the Russian language version of the game. This bug blocks progress when playing with Russian subtitles. The only workaround right now is to switch to English or another language. We are currently working on a fix and expect to patch very soon. This one's been on the beta branch for a while, but we're finally bringing the long-awaited Russian translation (subtitles only) to the main branch! Version 5.7.6 also brings with it a few other fixes: Russian localisation, created by a group of dedicated fans (see below) Fixed occlusion bugs in Northlands forest Added baked lightmaps that were missing in "Deleted scenes" Fixed Facebook integration to work with latest API Small UI fix for the in-game language menu Fixed material on protestor in Europolis We want to extend a very special thanks to the awesome fans…

Red Thread Games has announced in a Kickstarter update that Dreamfall Chapters , the five-part episodic sequel to The Longest Journey and Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in March. This is of interest to us because coinciding with that, the studio will also put out an updated "Final Cut" edition of the game for the PC.  "We’re very excited about this opportunity to revisit Chapters one final time. There are several improvements and changes we’ve wanted to make for years—along with requests and suggestions from our players and community—and we finally have the time and resources to address them," Red Thread wrote. "There are changes to character art and animations, music, sound-effects, shaders, lighting—and gameplay. We’ll be talking specifics soon, and we’ll have more on the console…

Dreamfall Chapters has been updated to version 5.2, which addresses a number of bugs. This update: Fixes a problem with buggy graphics on Mac, resulting in square, coloured artefacts appearing in scenes. This also includes other visual fixes for the Mac Fixes an issue with missing lights in the Enclave in Book Two, affecting dialogues with Enu and Likho Makes it easier (we hope!) to solve the musical puzzle in the Journeyman Inn for tone-deaf players Fixes an issue with the materials on the Dreamer in chapter 7, to make it less shiny.
