- Wield weaponised words in Dreamfall dev's new game Dustborn - 13 June 2020
Red Thread Games, the Norwegian developer behind Dreamfall Chapters and Draugen, has revealed a brand new game called Dustborn. It's a storied, single-player action adventure about a black lady called Pax who recruits and leads a group of misfit friends with weird powers on a road-trip across the Divided States of America (that's how it's referred to). It's brightly coloured and looks like a graphic novel in motion, and it's going to have more action than in previous Red Thread games. Brilliantly, you'll also be able to wield weaponised words. They'll be fuelled by misinformation and used to fight, manipulate and motivate. Read more

UPDATE: Due to miscommunication on our behalf, we neglected to fix a bug that affects the Russian language version of the game. This bug blocks progress when playing with Russian subtitles. The only workaround right now is to switch to English or another language. We are currently working on a fix and expect to patch very soon. This one's been on the beta branch for a while, but we're finally bringing the long-awaited Russian translation (subtitles only) to the main branch! At the start of the year we brought you the news that Dreamfall Chapters' "Final Cut" update would arrive this March—'March' being a word that here means, apparently, 'July'. OK so it's a bit late, but you can now play Red Thread Games' five-part episodic adventure with enhanced art and sound effects, improved performance, and a few other pleasant additions, and that's not bad at all for a free update, now is it? The final episode of Dreamfall Chapters may have arrived in June 2016–also tolling the end of The Longest Journey –but developers Red Thread Games aren’t done with their adventure game quite yet. Red Thread Games has announced in a Kickstarter update that Dreamfall Chapters , the five-part episodic sequel to The Longest Journey and Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in March. This is of interest to us because coinciding with that, the studio will also put out an updated "Final Cut" edition of the game for the PC.  "We’re very excited about this opportunity to revisit Chapters one final time. There are several improvements and changes we’ve wanted to make for years—along with requests and suggestions from our players and community—and we finally have the time and resources to address them," Red Thread wrote. Our German localisation partners are still working on the voice-overs for the fourth and fifth episodes. These will be added to the game as soon as they're ready.
