Dynamic battle camera is most prominent when using a gamepad.)Bug FixesVarious fixes to the UI related to gamepad navigation.Fixes to broken AI scripts.

It is now possible to heal an enemy or damage an ally. (This is to simplify new combat mechanics included with the major new combat zone, the Void Round.)New item types have been added to simplify the purpose of ways of learning new abilities:Runes are now only intended to be socketed into gear temporarily to learn abilities (as it was before). - Updates 0.7.8.0 - 0.7.8.2 - Gamepad Update - 16 January 2026
This update is focused on making gamepads a first-class citizen. Changes Gamepad control with the user interface (UI) has been overhauled. This includes: New buttons prompts (for keyboard/mouse as well as gamepad) Changes to how the UI is used with a gamepad (particularly in combat) to be more gamepad-typical. (Note that the gamepad buffs view may be changed in the future.) Some minor changes to the look of the UI. Some abilities can no longer be used outside of combat. Feedback on how gamepad use is appreciated! Bug Fixes Various bug fixes.
- Update 0.7.7.0 - New BarrylWinde - 24 December 2025
The general consensus on the BarrylWinde minigame is that it rather bland. It has been replaced with BarrylWinde 2.0. Changes The BarrylWinde has been changed to a side-scrolling shooter. Feedback on the new BarrylWinde is greatly appreciated! Bug Fixes Party members following you should now do so without teleporting randomly. This is still a work-in-progress. If you'd like to jump straight to the new BarrylWinde minigame, start a new game and enter the following console commands, accessible by pressing the ~ key (tilde) in-game. PartiesSwitchAndDisableOther("tl_towntown") LevelChange("levels\\\\final barrel\\\\barrel wind 2.staticbuilder") Do not attempt to continue this save after playing the BarrylWinde. Future updates will focus on controller compatibility and new content.
- Update 0.7.6.0 - Aether Defense - 9 December 2025
Changes The Aether Defense minigame is now available. Feedback on this minigame would be greatly appreciated! I've taken a slightly different approach to this from the others, such as support multiple difficulty levels and even a skip option.
- Update 0.7.5.1 - Save Migration Fix - 27 November 2025
Bug Fixes Save file migration should now function. A prompt will appear on game startup. Note that save migration will not take place if there are existing saves in the new location (if you have played and made any new saves) or if migration has already taken place. If you would like to force save migration, you can enter LegacyMoveSavedGames() into the console, accessible by pressing the ~ key (tilde) in-game. This will not overwrite duplicate save numbers.
- Update 0.7.5.0 - Steam Cloud Support, Chapter 5, Combat Updates - 26 November 2025
Changes The Twin Gods now supports Steam Cloud saves. The game will migrate your saves on startup but it will not delete the original folder. The game will not migrate your settings. All chapter 5 content is now accessible. This ends just before a new minigame called Aether Defense. The combat intro transition has been changed slightly. Pray it doesn't change further. New effects have been introduced for various combat mechanics (such as Preparation, Counter, and Interrupt). Bug Fixes Various bug fixes to buffs and abilities. Known Issues Party members following you may not do so particularly smoothly. Tester Notes Content for what will be chapter 6 is in the game but inaccessible by normal means. (Note that text can be pasted into the console.) The Void Round level can be played by typing LevelChange("levels\\\\roadon\\\\roadon-void maze 3.staticbuilder", "Start.VoidMaze2.South") in thβ¦
- Updates 0.7.4.1 - 0.7.4.3 - 20 September 2025
0.7.4.3 Bug Fixes Fixed an issue with the Narration window and text wrapping. π Fixed a terrain issue in Darkworld 1. 0.7.4.2 Changes Added an additional inventory filter for fishing items. Bug Fixes Fixed a crash introduced with last patch (related to text). Fixed another issue related to text wrapping. (Text may still appear incorrect in the Codex, since that uses an additional method to wrap text across "pages".) Tester Notes Inventory filters can now be customized through a new file, "base\\data\\Inventory Filters.data" folder. 0.7.4.1 Bug Fixes Text should now wrap correctly in all instances. π (Do you know how old this bug is. π) Fixed a potential crash on the Sacrifice Shrine window.
- Update 7.4.0 - 20 September 2025
Changes The intro to chapter 5 is now playable, which includes 2 new party members and Class Shrines. Frau and Mama Lasca no longer share a sprite. New sounds and graphical effects have been added and others changed. The Poems codex entry has been replaced with a short story. If you have already unlocked the Poems entry, you can manually unlock the new entry by entering CodexUnlock("SMOKESKULL") into the in-game console, accessible by hitting "~". Bug Fixes Various bug fixes. Known Issues Party members following you may not do so particularly smoothly. Various text layout issues may be present, such as during the introduction of Class Shrines. Party members no longer shake when hit in combat. This is intentional for now. Tester Notes You can set the "keyvalues.xml" setting "setting-battle-zoom-level" to "2" for a new battle effect. (Unsure if this stays long-term.)
- Update 0.7.3.1 - 31 August 2025
Changes Party is now fully healed at the end of every chapter. Bug Fixes In-progress saves should no longer crash when entering the Barrel Dimension from Backwoods. Drastically reduced an already-minor chance to get stuck when opening one particular barrel in Backwoods if it triggers a specific cinematic. (Chances are good you never ran into this, but hey.) Added a missing animation to Taliph (surprise-quick). Can no longer trigger "enter house" region when ending Chapter 2 (Backwoods Bonanza). (Doesn't cause any issues, but extends load time unnecessarily.)
- Update 0.7.3.0 - 30 August 2025
This release is mostly bug fixes. The release of chapter 4 is on the way, which will bring changes to chapters 2 and 3. Please note Twin Gods is still very full of placeholder sprites, sounds, and animations. For example, Mama Lasca shares a sprite with Frau. New Content Barrels opened in Island Trees now lead to new levels. Barrel opened by Nasrin in Island Trees now leads to a new Turtle Dimension. Get to know Pimel and Sevil a little (a lot) better! Changes The BarrylWinde and Windy Path minigames now keep track of your accuracy. Try for 100%!? They now also explicitly state the Dash button for reference. Wind gusts in the Windy Path now have an audio cue. Whenever the Storyteller or Adventurer talk over the "story" events, the screen will gain a cute little flashback effect. Chapter 3, "Clearing Backwoods", has been renamed "Backwoods Bonanza". We'll see how this feels. The gear icoβ¦
- Update 0.7.2.5 - 29 July 2025
Bug Fixes Version 0.7.2.5 has the following fixes: Updates to shaders to fix issues on Intel integrated GPUs. Updates to shaders to fix an issue on newer NVIDIA GPUs. Fishing should no longer sometimes cause the game to stick, forcing the player to close the game via Windows. Known Issues These are in addition to other known issues, such as apparent tile corruption in the first prologue level. The screen shake effect may affect some text, resulting in odd-looking prompts and dialogs. A hidden quest appears in the second prologue level, "darkworld-save-cutoff-2".
- Progress Update - 16 July 2025
It's been 2 years since the last announcement but the project is absolutely still going and is nearing a release candidate for Early Access. Roughly half the total planned content will be playable, about 4-6 hours of gameplay. Since then, there have been large changes to both the engine and the game itself, and a general refining of the turn-based combat system. Here's a summary of some of the additions.Game UpdatesNew Combat MechanicsEnemies "preparing" attacks can now be interrupted, while enemies "recovering" can be countered (assuming you don't miss the counter window!). Some enemies apply buffs that can be "broken", either simply removing them or completely turning the tables. "Menacing" attacks can be out-right blocked.Yes, it's still turn-based stuff but, hey, I still think it feels real good to hit these. All of these mechanics support the combat filler/finish combo system.(See iβ¦
- New Zone Development Completed: The Void Round - 17 January 2024
Names may or may not be final. Content presented in this announcement is not yet available in-game. This is only an announcement of progress to ensure current playtesters the game is still alive and will be receiving updates to its completion. The playtest pool is on pause and will continue with the next game update. The Void Round A new zone, tentatively titled the Void Round, has been completed. The name is in large part due to the ring around which most of the map's paths are built. It continues the story of the prior map and includes additional nuggets of information about the Twin Gods world. Compared to all existing levels in the game, this level is huge. There are no breaks, no loading screens. It is all one level. There's an estimated 45 minutes to maybe 2 hours of gameplay, depending on how complete one wishes to be. Seeing as how the game is intended to be 5-10 hours minimum,β¦
