• Progress Report: Items, Modding, and More - 14 January 2024

  Hello, Scrumlords! We've been making lots of progress on the new update, and are excited to share our work! ITEMS The last week or so has been almost entirely devoted to finishing the game's new item system. The work has certainly paid off, and SCRUMLORDS' campaign update will launch with a whopping 100 items, each with their own unique artwork. These items should help make each run feel more unique and encourage players to try new strategies and max different skills. MODDING? One of the biggest issues in the original Unity build of SCRUMLORDS was the fact that the items (such as player headgear and projectiles) were written in the game's source code. For those who don't know (like me at the time), writing items and their stats into a game's source code makes it difficult to add new ones in subsequent updates without breaking the game for some people. Thousands of layoffs, dozens of cancelled projects, and the official death of E3 (PBUI).   Hello Scrumlords! The dev team has collectively arisen from their Starfield-induced comas and are eagerly diving headfirst back into work on SCRUMLORDS.   Hello Everyone! We're almost through the second week of August and are creeping ever-closer to SCRUMLORDS' August 29 release date. We hardly contain our excitement at the studio, and we can't wait celebrate launch day! In the mean time, the dev team has been hard at working crafting new systems and adding new gameplay elements that we are finally allowed to share with you! In the Middle Ages, a lord was the master of all that resided in his (or her) realm. Everything within that realm, from the trees in the forests to the grain in the fields, all the way down to the peasants who worked those fields, was the property of that lord. In SCRUMLORDS, we have added new varieties of peasants (i.e. Enemies) to the game which add challenge, variety, and force you to develop new tactics!
