  • Responding Roadmap and Dev Update June 2026 - 22 June 2026

Since the release of our Early Access on Steam earlier this year, we have been hard at work behind the scenes on an Engine upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.7.4 and decoupling the project files to allow for a streamlined process for our developers to work on their respective parts of the project. Developers you ask? Responding up until recently has been a solo developer venture, being a passion project for our lead developer DySands. Recently we have expanded our development team with the official addition of two new developers, an animator and a 3D/environmental artist, with the intention of bringing more developers on soon. It has always been our goal to expand our development team and we are excited to have begun this next step in Responding’s development journey. Whilst we await the release of our next game patch, here is a development update, and a revival of our Trello roadmap.Trello Roa…

  • Responding Pricing Feedback - 11 April 2026

Hey everyone!Responding has received a lot of feedback, both good and bad, which we have been addressing with patches. One thing we have not yet replied to is the pricing feedback. I know we have been quiet about the pricing feedback, but there was a lot to check and discuss. Apologies for the delay! We have decided to lower the base price of Responding to $24.99 for the foreseeable future. In full transparency:The plan is to increase the price of the game again as milestone updates are released. We feel that what we are building is well worth the initial price, but we also agree that the current state of the game does not yet justify that price. In the interim period, we will work hard to justify a gradual return. With that being said, we have also released another patch, the changelogs are available on Steam and Discord.Thank you to everyone who has shared their feedback! There are more…

  • Post-Launch Feedback & Plans - 2 April 2026

Hey everyone! It has been a crazy 2 days since our launch into EA, and with a lot more eyes on the project we also got a lot of feedback! We don't like beating around the bush, and it's certainly no secret that we're sitting at a 27% positive rating on Steam right now, so we'll address that first. Responding has always been a passion project and proceeded despite of a lack of external funding, and this is not going to stop us either. A lot of what we have seen in feedback are things we expected due to the early nature of the project, but we have also gained a lot of valuable insight into pain points that our more established veteran community simply did not run into as much. Our immediate priority is, thus, clear: Implement more player onboarding measures to improve the new player experienceAddress priority bugs reported to BetaHubUpdate the roadmap to communicate clear expectations On…

  • Development Update | Release Window Adjustment - 31 December 2025

A couple days ago, we’ve shared new gameplay showing where Responding is today. The response and engagement around that update have been incredibly encouraging, and it’s been great to see so many people react to the direction the game is heading. As development has continued, it’s become clear that our original release window no longer reflects the quality bar we want to meet at launch. The foundation of Responding is now solid, and the moment-to-moment gameplay is starting to feel like what the game is meant to be, but we want to take additional time to ensure that experience is consistent, polished, and stable across longer play sessions. With that in mind, we’re moving the release window to March 2026. This decision wasn’t made lightly. It’s driven by progress and by a commitment to delivering a strong first impression when Responding arrives on Steam. We want the initial release to…
