- "Our Journey Continues" 10th Anniversary Expedition - 17 September 2026
Hello everyone,Today, we're so excited to be launching our special anniversary expedition: Our Journey Continues. This expedition celebrates ten years since the launch of No Man's Sky, and it felt celebratory to make! Everything from the developer commentary, to the nostalgia-themed rewards, to the mechanics all felt like a celebration of No Man’s Sky and of Hello Games. As a team, we tend to have our heads down, and don't often take time to reflect - but we've now released 41 named updates for No Man's Sky! So it was lovely to take the time to look back over that long journey. We don't want to spoil too much, but we had a lot of fun resurrecting elements from previous versions of the game, and hiding easter eggs for long-term players to discover. We hope that Travellers who have been with us for a long time will enjoy remembering some of these updates, and newer Travellers will find it i…

- 'What if you could own a space station?' asks No Man's Sky's Sean Murray, as he lets you own a space station - 9 September 2026
Somehow, it's been 10 years since No Man's Sky launched on Steam, an infamously inauspicious occasion that over the space of that decade evolved from a cautionary tale about the excesses of hype to one of the best and most enduring exploration adventures you can play. And it's not done yet: Hello Games has now released No Man's Sky's 7.0 update, Cosmos , and it's another big one... Read more.
- No Man's Sky отмечает 10-летие масштабной переработкой космоса в обновлении 7.0 COSMOS - 9 September 2026
No Man’s Sky

- A complete overhaul to space arrives in the form of No Man's Sky COSMOS (7.0) - 9 September 2026
Hello everyone,Thank you for helping us celebrate our 10th Anniversary last month. It was emotional to hear people’s stories and memories from playing over the years. We feel lucky to still be able do big crazy things with No Man’s Sky after ten years, and our next update COSMOS is one of our biggest and craziest! Full patch notes here.No Man’s Sky is often referred to as “a Space Game”, it’s a huge part of our game, but we’ve never really updated space since release. In most sci-fi games, space is just an empty void. With Cosmos we wondered - can we make space feel truly alive? And could we make space feel more like home? What if you could own a Space Station? If you could build star bases, and create alliances with other players. We’ve added so much to space in this update, here’s just a sampler of what’s new…Star Map - Warping to a system now, your first action will often be a quick…
- Light No Fire от авторов No Man’s Sky будет крайне амбициозной игрой, но поклонников просят запастись терпением - 13 August 2026
Кооперативная приключенческая игра Light No Fire от создателей No Man’s Sky давно не появлялась в новостях, но работа над ней по-прежнему активно ведётся. Студия Hello Games просто не хочет преждевременно раскрывать все карты и предпочитает сосредоточиться на производстве. Об этом в беседе со СМИ рассказал геймдизайнер Шон Мюррей .
- Even 10 years on, Sean Murray feels like he could work on No Man's Sky "forever," even if he knows "there probably is some end date" for it - 11 August 2026
What's that? It's been 10 years since No Man's Sky launched? Oh! That's gone by a bit too quick! In that time the planet hopping survival game has changed drastically, starting life frequently derided for missing promised features, slowly morphing into what it is now. The game now has a massive mish mash of features that have kept people coming back year after year, and according to Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray, he could keep going as long as they do. - Celebrating 10 Years (!) of No Man's Sky - 10 August 2026
Hello! I feel surprisingly emotional today. Ten years ago, on 9th August 2016, Travellers across the universe set foot on their first alien planet in No Man’s Sky. Perhaps you were there ten years ago, or maybe you joined later. It’s very cool to me that all around the universe, other Travellers have woken up on countless other planets, light years apart from each other. They took their first steps on their first planet and brought a new unexplored universe into existence together. Since then millions of players have made No Man’s Sky their home, created insane bases, built communities, made friends, and built really creative custom ships. For any game to reach its ten-year milestone is impressive and I think that is especially true for No Man’s Sky. It’s really a testament to the passion of the team here and of the players for the game. Over the last decade, the No Man’s Sky players ha…

- Introducing..No Man's Sky: The Swarm - 27 May 2026
Hello,No Man’s Sky turns 10 in August and we feel very lucky that we still get the chance to work on it every day. What we love about sci-fi, and about No Man’s Sky, is that it can be a canvas for so many ideas. Our last update, Xeno Arena, introduced Pokemon-style pet battling, which players have put a ton of hours into, but takes place on just a small table… our next update is something much larger. Full patch notes can be found here.Something new, huge and foreboding is hanging in the sky above planets. Unlike anything we've seen before.Players are going to need a combined community effort to figure out what is going on. Travellers will boot up to be greeted with a personality test, dividing players into three factions, each will need to co-operate, strategise and compete to counter the Hive of Glass, an existential threat to the universe.A war effort is being launched from the Nexus…
- New No Man's Sky The Swarm update threatens the universe with a murderous, robotic hive - not the bees! - 27 May 2026
It's hard to think that No Man's Sky is nearly ten years old. I remember being there in the glorious summer of 2016. Pokémon GO was all the rage, but I was even more excited for Hello Games' space game to drop. As we know, it was an underwhelming launch, and so would begin one of the best comeback stories in modern gaming. No longer the bland, isolated experience of yesteryear, No Man's Sky is now one of the genre's heaviest hitters. What better way is there to celebrate that than by pulling us all together and having us face off against a giant drone armada? - Helldivers 2-esque war against a giant evil robo-eye beckons in No Man's Sky's The Swarm update, invading the galaxy right now - 27 May 2026
It's the Death Star! Well, sort of. It's a big robo-eye invading the galaxy with a swarm of killer drones, as No Man's Sky goes a bit Helldivers 2 -ish in its latest update. Dubbed The Swarm, it'll see folks filed away from their not quite Pokemon battles to join three factions who'll need to work together in ship battles to fend off a big Robo-eye with a space station-scorching laser. - New No Man's Sky Xeno Arena update adds a full-fledged Fight Club for your alien pets - 8 April 2026
You can't really go wrong with creature collecting. Give me a colorful world with cute critters to capture and pit against one another and my wallet is yours. It's what being raised on a diet of Pokémon and Digimon will do to a person; not that I'm complaining. No Man's Sky already sports some incredible views from the space game 's generated planets, and you've been able to tame many of its Xenos for several years. The only thing that's been missing is some good ol' fashioned brawling, but its freshly-launched Xeno Arena update changes that. Read the rest of the story... Hello everyone,This is already shaping up to a big year for No Man’s Sky, as we celebrate our tenth anniversary year!Even we struggle to know how we pulled off so many large updates in 2025. 2026 is building steadily on that momentum. Our small team is excited to share our latest update. Full patch notes here. Our new update is called XENO ARENA and it's pretty wild! Xeno Arena lets you raise, train and battle the alien creatures found across the universe. - No Man's Sky's latest update is a whole new Pokémon-style creature-collection and battle system that's 'an entire multiplayer game all of its own' - 8 April 2026
