- What can you expect from the new update? - 23 August 2026
What can you expect from this new update, you might be wondering? It's been the the works for about a year now and it be a while before it's ready. What have I been cooking?Well, heres what you can expectFirst: The NameUp until now, no ending has ever just been "ending 1" or "Ending A", they've all had their own names. Usually these names are a reference to something like how name for the neutral ending is a reference to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. For the true ending, however, I wanted something more relevant to the games lore and character.Which is why I've landed at the name...Son of the NephilimYou might think you know what that means, trust me, you don't. It's gonna be exciting. Second: More level variationEvery level in the current relase of Night of the Abattoir Man have mostly been very similar to each other, not that thats a bad thing, and the new levels for the true ending path…
- Been a while, huh? Hows that update coming along? - 21 August 2026
Hi, yo. So yeah, been a while. When did I last do one of these? a year? Well if you've been waiting for the update I have good and bad news. Bad news first, I'm not really sure how far I am into development. Level wise, I'm pretty far into that, but there's still a ton of art assets to make and cutscenes to write and other things, I have no idea when this update will release. The good news, this update will double the current game, probably more. Of course just saying "I doubled the game" is not always a good thing, it can make the game repetitive. I can assure you this update will be anything but repetitive. Every level has their own vibe, assets and even mechanics. This update might genuinely make the current game look tame.Safe to say, the true ending is gonna be super ambitious and I gotta make another post with all the features you can expect with its release.I'm just making to say…
- Quick emergency update on the game - 11 October 2025
So I had to do a very quick emergency update for this game that consisted on removing a script that disabled the f12 key. As some of you may know, f12 in rpg maker resets the game, I wanted to prevent this. The script I was using required a dll file.Well the problem is that I was in the talks with a game reviewer and he ran into an issue. The god damned game would not start up because of that script and dll file. Why? Idk, more than likely a steam side issue.I have not seen this happen to anyone else before but as a game developer you start fearing that this might be happening to more people that you don’t know.So I made the decision to just remove the script, obviously it was causing more issues than it was fixing, and besides the f12 key resetting the game, while annoying imo, is not that big of an issue. So it’s gone. Bye bye.Anyways, that’s the update.Thank you to everyone.
- My pc is back from repairs! I can get back to work! - 15 August 2025
In my last post, I said I was gonna send out my pc for repairs to change the battery. About a month later and I have it back, not only did they change the battery but also the motherboard for some reason, I'm glad it was still in warranty because I cannot imagine the cost.Oddly enough, I was told that all the files on my pc would be deleted while they were fixing it but not only are thet still here, they remain pretty much untouched. I guess I spent all that time backing my stuff up for nothing. Well it's never for nothing, it's good to back your things up in case of an accident.Anyways, yes, I can finally get back to work on this game and it's safe to say that during this month some ideas have sprung up.I hope you guys are as excited as I am.Another thing! Aparently if a steam game gets at least 50 reviews it starts getting more visibility on steam which I'd say would be pretty great f…
- Playtest build update + computer issues - 14 July 2025
Ok, first things first, the playtest build. Before, I shared a drive link so you could access the playtest build. Now I'd like to announce that I set up an itchio page where you can access the build as well. Here's the link to that:https://knucklesthechuckles.itch.io/night-of-the-abattoir-man-true-ending-playtesting-buioldOver this week I've been updating the playtest build with fixes and some new content that was suggested to me so ya'll might wanna give that a try. Here's one of the cool things I added. Animated portraits, like in doom and pizza tower! Sencondly the computer issues. Yes, for almost a year now I've been having issues with my computers battery. Basically it doesn't charge any more. This isn't that big of an issue and I can just keep it plugged when I use it but I'd rather have it fixed before the warranty goes out. What this means is that I most likely won't have my pc…
- Playtest build Released - 4 July 2025
Greetings everyone I have been working on the update for a long while now and in that time I've actually got a pretty considerable ammount of content done for the true ending path. However so far the only person who's gotten to play that content is myself which isn't great for playtesting. So I have made the decision to release a playtest build that any of you can play. You can access it throught the Discord in the channel called Playtest-Buildshttps://discord.gg/Wd6MdDVWQ9Or you can just access it from here through the drive linkhttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1H-PxCpchw2VaZjyna-Gq3NfUpjkZpihG/view?usp=sharingIf you find any bugs or glitches or you have feedback, please report it on the discord Thank you all
- Progress? - 3 June 2025
Hey there. Couple of things have happened in my life, good things.~ But as for the game, I've done a couple of things. Mostly writing stuff for cutscenes and structuring stuff. I also I worked on some character concepts for the update. If you’re wondering why these characters are even gonna be in the game, don’t worry about it. Trust the process. I promise it’s gonna all make sense. Anyways, Thank you all and have a good one. Here’s some of the concepts.
- More Progress on the big update - 18 May 2025
Finished another big level for the update, the Metro Station. Thats right, you get to leave the factory, how nice. Im pretty proud of this level and it might genuinely be my favorite of the whole game so far. Got a couple of videos to show you guys. Hope you guys are excited
- New Map Transition Animations Added - 3 May 2025
I was debating if I should add these animations to the game already or wait for the big update but, considering how long it will take to finish the big update and the fact that they are genuinely really cool, I figured I should just add them now. Much like in game such as Resident Evil, this game now has transition animations between maps. These animations include going through a brick wall corridor, going up stairs, going down stairs, going up and down a ladder and teleporting. If you want to see these animations you can just play the game and see them in action now or watch this video. I hope you guys enjoy these new anymations.
- Cool new things I'm working on - 2 May 2025
Been working a bit on this game as of late, doing some writting, trying to map out the continuity and what levels will come, having some ideas for puzzles and Lore, of course. The other video is a boss fight I'm still working on, it's not finished. The first video is this cool animation for entering a new map, very Resident Evil. What purpose does it serve? It looks neat. I'ts a lot like the final chase scene from the default ending but while that one has a focus on opening doors and pushing things out of the way, this one is more focused on running away and your reflexes, as Trevor is way faster here and will always be on your tail. Here's Michael eating chalk sticks
- Michael's Gautlet - 20 April 2025
Here it is, the level from yesterday completed. Well, the core of it is complete, there’s still the aesthetic of the level to work on, you know, destroyed walls, debris on the floor, all the good stuff that make you think of an abandoned factory. Also there might be some stuff I’ll have to change around but for the most part, this is the level. It’s name is “Michael’s Gauntlet”. Is it Michael D’Amato’s gauntlet or maybe some other Michael? Who knows. Well, I do but I won’t tell. Here’s a video of the level What’s special about this level? Well, as the gauntlet name might imply, this level is more like three smaller levels in one map. Pretty neat I think. Word of warning for any aspiring game dev, and this is something I had to learn the hard way while making this level, DO NOT MAKE LEVELS WHERE THE LAYOUT IS BASED ON A SYMBOL. It’s not gonna make for fun level design and you’ll most cer…
- Quick Update on Progress - 19 April 2025
So, what have I been doing so far? Well a few things. Mostly, I've been working on some writing. I’ve also been working on a map, I got an interesting idea for this one but I won’t go too much into it. No spoilers. But I did record a little sneak peek of what I’ve been working on. Hopefully I'll be able to get the update finished before the end of the year. I see no reason why it should take that long to complete it. If everything goes well, this update might outdo the current game.
- Attempted to fix the bug that causes the killer to be stuck floating AGAIN! - 3 April 2025
What is it like the 5th or 6th time I try to fix this problem? Just when I think it's fixed, it happens again and I have to scramble to see what caused it. That's what happens when you use an decade old engine meant for rpg games and not horror games with bear trap mechanics. Alas, this time it should be fixed, hopefully. We pray. Anyways, what was the fix this time? Well, I made it so when a taser knife is used then the player can't instantly start placing bear traps. This was already a really weird quirk of the game and it might have contributed for the bug, so hopefully that fixes it.
- Content from a cancelled dlc added as extra content - 31 March 2025
This should be the last update I release before I start working full force on the true ending update. For this update, I decided to add three extra bosses that are accessible to the player from the ending room after they beat the default ending. These three bosses are: -The Labyrinthian -Incubus End -BetaV1 The Labyrinthian and Incubus End are two bosses made specifically for an unannounced dlc that I ended never going through with, you know, not wanting to bury myself in projects when I still had the true ending update to work on. While very little was done for that dlc, I didn't want to wast the work I did on those bosses. The Labyrinthian is very similar to the final chase in the default ending but it's shorter and it kinda forces the player to go out of their way to collect the blue keys. Incubus End was to be the final boss of that dlc and it is incredibly difficult, unfairly so at…
- Good news! College is over, kinda. - 29 March 2025
As the title implies, I have finished my master’s degree. It's not officially over just yet and there's a chance that there might be something else I'll need to do but I've already presented my final project and the professors said I'd pass so it should be done now. I’m saying this because this means I can devote more time into working on the update again. I predict that it should take a few months of work before it comes out. I will be posting updates regularly, maybe even posting videos of things I’m working on. Hopefully I can make this game better than it already is.
- News on the True Ending Update? - 18 March 2025
Hello everyone. I'm writting this just to keep everyone up to date on the progress on the True Ending Update and this whole game in general. As I mentioned before, I'm more focused on finishing my masters degree right now, it's almost complete. This means that the game is taking a slight back seat for now. This, however, does not mean that I have been working on the update at all. Granted, work has been slow. For the most part, I've done some writing for some cutscenes I’m planning, drew one new character and have been coming up with ideas for maps and mechanics. I understand this is not much but as I said, I've been busy. Rest assured, I have not forgotten about this game, I have so many plans that I want to put into practice and I can’t wait to be able to focus on this game once more. Thank you to everyone who has played this game and left reviews, it really means a lot to me. Once ag…

Some minor fixes ive been working over the month. Been more focused on college work to be completely honest but I haven't forgotten about this game. Some minor fixes include some fixes to the minigames hit detection, some fixes to the traps and now in maps where you need to type a password, you get an option to input the password or not use the terminal, in case the player doesnt have the password yet
