- Patch 1.1.5.0 Brute Force and Backstab crash at the beginning of battle - 16 April 2026
I've noticed a very tricky bug at the start of a battle which caused a crash. This patch should fix this specific case. I would like to say sorry to affected players (today I saw this crash for only one player). I hope this fix will help; if not, please contact me on the forum or any other way. My apologies )

- Patch 1.0.9.0 – Healing - 18 December 2025
A couple of recent patches introduced a new mechanic — the Damage Multiplier. It allows battles to be sped up and, at higher values, can significantly change tactical combat gameplay. This parameter can be adjusted at any time outside of battles. Another notable improvement is Shrines. They are scattered across all lands, but discovering them may require better party transport equipment. Shrines grant a 2-day buff that increases the party’s regeneration speed on the global map, but have a 3-week cooldown. Additionally, the base healing rate in the fortress has been doubled. Together, these changes should reduce the time spent waiting for healing in the fortress and increase the overall pacing and dynamism of both global and tactical gameplay. Thank you for your feedback and continued support.
- Patch 1.0.8.10 – Fixes - 14 December 2025
I missed that the previous patch broke the run → idle transition for creatures. This issue has now been fixed.Additionally, I am experimenting with battle mechanics, and crouching now affects visibility. A crouched character is 30% less visible.Thank you for your understanding ))
- Patch 1.0.8.9 – Animation Adjustments - 13 December 2025

- Patch 1.0.8.6 — Face Adjustments - 4 December 2025
In this patch I continued improving the overall quality of character models. All faces across all races have been recreated or tweaked, and skin tones have been balanced to appear more natural. Other changes:Updated the enemy-turn message for hidden enemies to “Hidden enemy movement” to better reflect what is actually happening. The camera now moves to an enemy character at the beginning of its turn, but only if that enemy has already been revealed.Thank you for your continued support and feedback!
- Path notes 1.0.8.5 Human female faces - 22 November 2025
In this patch I’ve tried to slightly improve human female faces, as some of them were really not great. From my point of view, most faces now look better. I’m sorry if someone had already created a custom face for a companion and now needs to adjust it again. Bug FixesAncient Blueprint Fragment should no longer appear as dungeon loot once a dungeon is completed. Any excess fragments can be destroyed after the mission is finished.Thank you for your continued support and feedback!

- Patch 1.0.7.0 – New Skills and Updates - 28 September 2025
This patch introduces a new type of skill: Heroic Skills. Heroic Skills are free to use, affect allies or enemies in a wide radius, and can be cast only once per battle. However, no more than two Heroic Skills may be used in a single battle in total.New Heroic Skills Blessing of Flame – Once per battle, bestows a blessing on all allies within 12m, reducing the cost of their next attack by 2 AP and 4 MP. Power of Frost – Once per battle, afflicts all enemies within 12m with Slow, Chill, Frostbite, and both Magic and Physical Vulnerability. Grace of Recovery – Once per battle, restores half of lost HP and AP (rounded down) to all allies within 12m. - Patch 1.0.6.10 — Keybinding Support & Mod Support Enhancements - 18 September 2025
This patch introduces a common feature that I had previously missed: keybinding. Although it may seem like a small addition, a lot of underlying code was refactored and changed, so new bugs may appear. Please report any you encounter. Another noticeable change is the addition of new entities to support mods. Now it’s possible to tweak or create character features such as buffs/debuffs, perks, and skills. Custom research can also be created. It is now possible to design your own items with unique skills or perks and integrate them smoothly into the game. Thank you for your continued feedback and support — it really helps improve the game!
- Patch 1.0.6.8 – Armor Dyeing - 9 September 2025
1) This patch introduces the ability to dye armor, making it easier to identify characters on the battlefield or distinguish workers by type in your castle. Existing characters will start without a specified color, but it can be changed in the inventory screen. New companions will be assigned a randomly generated color, which can also be customized. 2) Another important change in this patch: the default middle mouse action has been changed to camera rotation, while double-clicking the middle mouse button now controls camera movement. You can revert these settings to the original behavior in the game options.3) The default renderer has been changed to Vulkan for improved stability. If you prefer to use DX12 for potentially higher performance:Go to your Steam Library.Find Shards of the Realm, then click Properties.Under the General tab, locate Launch Options.Add: -dx12Several minor bugs h…
- Patch 1.0.6.7 – Settlement Raids - 3 September 2025
This patch introduces a new type of battle: Settlement Raids. To attack villages, you only need a hostile reputation with faction, but raiding towns requires a specific item additionally. Village raids are designed for mid-game difficulty and primarily focused on increasing reputation, while town raids are end-game encounters with valuable rewards. I’ve also added a Level-Up History feature. You’ll now see a new button in the UI that displays all your choices for a character (except attributes). An issue with Enhanced Auras was fixed. They were mistakenly flagged as removable after battle, causing them to disappear after the next fight. Unfortunately, there is no way to restore them, so a respec is required if you selected an Enhanced Aura for a character. Newly chosen Enhanced Auras should now work as expected. I’ve also fixed and implemented various small improvements mentioned recent…
- Patch 1.0.6.4 – Vulkan Support - 18 August 2025
I’ve added Vulkan as an optional renderer in this update (DX12 is still default). While it may deliver slightly lower performance compared to DirectX 12 (on modern PCs the difference should be minimal), Vulkan offers much greater stability. How to enable Vulkan: Go to your Steam Library. Find Shards of the Realm, then click Properties. Under the General tab, locate Launch Options. Add: -vulkan To switch back to DirectX 12, simply remove the launch option. Thank you for playing and supporting the game! Your feedback helps us make the game better with every update.
- Patch 1.0.3 Improvements - 12 August 2025
This patch addresses various issues identified by our growing community, introducing important changes and additions to enhance gameplay. It includes two major features: improved movement controls in proximity to enemies and enhancements to weapon mastery functionality.Previously, weapon mastery simply unlocked access to weapons of the corresponding subclass. With this patch, players can now acquire subclass-specific support skills after picking up weapon mastery. For instance, a Berserker can first acquire Sword and Shield Mastery and later unlock the Taunt skill—something that wasn't possible before. This change introduces flexibility and significantly increases the variety of interesting builds available.List of Changes:Movement improvements for melee characters: Reaching enemies is now much easier as the cursor no longer disappears, and the closest viable location is automatically s…
- Patch 1.0.2.0 Balance Update - 10 August 2025
After release, I watched some new videos and noticed where players seem to struggle the most. This patch is aimed at slightly simplifying the early game and improving clarity in tooltips. Here’s the list of changes: Reduced the speed of early-game enemy parties. This change will make traveling easier in the early game and allow players to avoid some combats. It will take effect approximately one in-game week after parties are refreshed. Lowered HP of starting enemies. Decreased the cost of hiring new companions by 10 (this change will apply when available companions are refreshed or in a new game). Reduced the MP cost of Taunt and added one additional usage per turn. Increased ammo for Fire Staff, Light Priest Staff, and Bow at higher tiers (this won't affect starting equipment). Added a description to the crouch button. Added a tooltip when hovering over gold in settlements to display…
- Shards of the Realm — now fully released! - 8 August 2025
I’m happy to announce that Shards of the Realm has officially left Early Access and received a full release!Huge thanks to everyone who supported the project along the way — gave feedback, tested builds, shared ideas, or simply believed in it. Thanks to you, the game has become much better. The full release brings several improvements and added challenges:The early-game income system has been reworked. All factions now provide the player with a small daily income, hoping for future help in return. While this may be a bit unrealistic, it helps solve some onboarding issues for new players and gives more breathing room to adapt :) That said, completing the main questline is still highly recommended, as it reveals advanced mechanics, unlocks additional opportunities, and influences your starting economy.Faster enemy patrols have been added in the mid and late game. This adds extra tension an…
- Patch 0.10.4.0 – Bug Fixes and Balance Changes - 26 July 2025
As I prepare for the upcoming release in a couple of weeks, I continue working on improving game quality and fixing remaining bugs. Here’s what’s changed in this patch: Since localization assets are still broken on the UE side, I’ve implemented a custom solution — voicelines should now work as expected. Fixed the post-battle screen to correctly display all 9 party members. Rifts and sieges now grant more reputation if the battle takes place on a faction's territory (×2.5 and ×4 respectively). Increased the rotation range of the battle camera, allowing it to get closer to the ground. Slowed down the rate at which party members gain proficiency. Fixed a bug where human towns could hire units of any race. Implemented diminishing returns for building multiple laboratories. The second lab is still a good option, but no longer overpowered. Thank you for your continued support!
