- #4 - Proper texturing support in RTG Editor - 5 September 2026
One month passed already from the last post, so here are news from RTG development. Just for context: game is done gameplay-wise, story-wise, puzzle-wise. It's playable from intro to ending credits. However, look of the game is not reaching engine potential, there's a lot what can be enhanced visually. But I was missing proper editor to spice up graphics (my old editor in which I made the whole game had severe limitations). That's why, even when I had all levels already playable, I started arduous journey of creating new editor, just to have better tool for enhancing visuals of the game. To not break game puzzles and game logic, editor is quite flexible, so when running in context of existing RTG levels, it does not allow to edit gameplay sensitive parts. Example: you can add decorative non-collidable geometries, retexture existing walls, tweak light colours or intensities or even add n…
- Post #3 - Crunching on editor - 31 July 2026
Hello! One month has passed since the last post and I want to keep-up with my promise to post some news about RTG development with at least monthly cadence. Editor crunch: There was not much done on game itself (because gameplay-wise, the game is done), however, it doesn't mean I was not doing anything. My current goal is to have usable editor for the game, which will be at least bit ergonomic. I want that it will be possible to either edit existing levels (so potential modders can re-skin existing game) and later I want that it will be possible to create full new levels. The latter task is a bit harder, because apart from just adding/editing boxes/lights, it must be possible to define/edit puzzle logic elements (as game is puzzle/platformer). I'm discussing editor ergonomics with my friend which is game artist/modeler and works a lot with Blender and have history of working with simila…
- Post #2 - Protagonist has an eye! - 27 June 2026
Hello Everyone! Here's update about what was done in past month on the game. The Eye: First and foremost, as thumbnail of this post suggests, I added a bit of personality to the actor. Even if game's plot is inside abstract world, I wanted to make main protagonist bit more adorable than just "blue stick", but at the same time, I wanted to "keep it simple". Thus, I added one big eye to main protagonist, which do wink-wink time to time. Moreover, the eye is bit wobbly, it floats slightly on vertical speed change. I attached very subtle light to the eye, which also change intensity with winking. I hope, this will make main protagonist more attractive and more fun to play with. Also, actor is no more super-rigid block. On vertical speed gain, his body gets slightly thinner and longer, and it scales back to normal form when hitting the ground. Just small detail. The Editor: Apart from that,…
- First RTG Steam post - 15 May 2026
Thank you!First and foremost, I'd like to thank you for wishlisting RTG. If narrative sci-fi puzzler is your cup of coffee, you'll not be disappointed. RTG state of developmentFirst thing which I'd like to clarify is that game is practically done. What's being developed now is new internal editor for possible game's visual enhancements. Moreover, that editor can be possibly released publicly as well. Making such editor is not a small task, which is also main reason for my first Steam post delay. Anyway, from now on, I plan to inform you here about RTG development progress more often. What can you expect from RTGRTG is narrative sci-fi puzzle/platformer. It means, besides puzzles solving and some platforming sequences, there's deeper story behind which uncover itself as player progresses. Puzzles difficulty spans from "piece of cake" up to "very challenging". There will be players which…
