  Chapter Two:Sneaking Around the Grand Gala In Chapter 2, we expanded upon the existing mechanics by introducing stealth elements. Players must carefully plan their routes to avoid enemy line of sight or be defeated. The gameplay in this chapter is heavily inspired by stealth games such as Assassin’s Creed, Metal Gear, and Mark of the Ninja. In particular, Mark of the Ninja provided many valuable ideas for designing mechanics and interactions within a 2D stealth framework.The VentsThe first half of chapter two is within the Vents, inspired by the levels from Mark of the Ninja. The early levels have the player sneaking into the Gala, and we’ve developed some mechanics to showcase this action.   The art style of Magnet Agent was inspired by a platform adventure game I absolutely love — Pikuniku (10/10，highly recommended).It’s extremely minimal, yet incredibly lively.Clean visuals, playful shapes, and full of comedic tension.At the time, I thought:“This style would be PERFECT for a ridiculous, absurd comedy game like Magnet Agent.”Hehehe… (villainous scheming laughter)And then I fell straight into the pit. 1. The War of Colors Magnetism is the core mechanic of this game.Since it’s all about opposing poles, I immediately chose red and blue as the main colors — the most intuitive representation of magnetic polarity.But that was only the beginning of the real challenge.   At the very beginning of development, Magnet Agent retained a strong Game Jam spirit: simple and fun. At that time, we didn’t have a complete framework for the game—we just wanted to create a light, casual experience with five or six levels. This mindset gave birth to the core items in the first two chapters: magnets and converters. Back then, magnets only exerted force in the vertical direction, and mechanics such as wall jumps and climbing did not yet exist. During the Game Jam, this content was more than sufficient. However, once we decided to move into full production, problems gradually began to surface. The first issue was that magnets only worked vertically, which greatly limited the possible combinations when placing them.   Hello everyone! We are Lulubear Studio, a team of four game enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds. We’re excited to share the development journey of our latest title, Magnet Agent.Magnet Agent is Lulubear Studio’s third game. The project originated from an idea we explored during the Winter 2024 Melon Game Jam, whose theme was “Polarity.” At the time, we brainstormed many concepts related to magnetic poles and electric charges, and considered gameplay styles such as platforming and spatial puzzles. However, none of these ideas felt concrete or truly feasible—until our designer, Bridge, proposed:“What if we make a 2D adventure game where the player doesn’t directly control the character, similar to Good Night Mr. Snoozleberg?”*This idea led to the birth of the prototype, Super Magnet Boy, the early version of Magnet Agent.
