- v0.5.5 to v0.5.8 - QoL and better light configurations. - 6 September 2026
FluxWerks v0.5.8 - 06-09-2026 New Features Light Block - A one-block lamp that attaches to any solid block, walls and ceilings included, with the Light Post's color, brightness and night-only settings. Researched with Illumination, under Decoration in the build menu. Light Palette - Sixteen swatches shared by every lamp in the save, each storing a color, strength and always-on setting. Link a lamp to a swatch and it follows it, so one edit changes every linked lamp. Work Orders Panel - Lists every nanobot work order and construction plan in the world, grouped by kind, with a cancel button per row. Press N, or click the queued count at the top of the materials bar. Improvements Light Color Wheel - Lamps pick their color on a hue and saturation wheel instead of three sliders. Settings Paste - Alt+LMB pastes a Light Post's color and brightness onto a Light Block, and the other way round. S…

FluxWerks v0.5.4 - 02-09-2026 New Features Named Worlds - New worlds get a name, and the load screen now groups every save under its world, with autosaves kept per world. Older saves keep working and ask for a name the next time you save. Continue - The main menu now has a Continue button that loads your most recent save. Steam Cloud - Save files and blueprints now sync through Steam Cloud across your machines. Achievements - Added twelve Steam achievements. Cancel Plans - The area select box can now cancel every ticked plan inside it, planned terrain work included. Clear Work - The area select box can now cancel every nanobot work order inside it, like B hotkey but only inside the area box. Farm Areas Overlay - A new overlay button outlines the working area of every Planter and Harvester at once. Gold outlines are Harvester zones, green are Planter zones. Belt Flip - Press F over a bel…

- v0.4.0 - So many things - 1 August 2026
This became a HUGE update with a lot of QoL features like blueprints, a lot more later tech content (not in demo), complete tech tree rebalance, but also major visual updates and behind the scenes stability and performance improvements and bug fixes. Thank you to everyone who helped to test out and hammer those bugs down, I couldn't had done it without you! FluxWerks v0.4.0 - 01-08-2026 New Features Saves - Saves from before v0.4.0 will not load. To continue an old game, install the v0.3 branch from the Steam Betas tab. Area Copy and Blueprints - Mark part of your factory with the new Area Select tool (Alt+7), then stamp it anywhere as construction plans. Tick what comes along, buildings keep their settings and the ground itself can be copied, and hold Ctrl while stamping to clear whatever is in the way. Save a marked area as a blueprint from the Blueprints button on the build bar and p…
- v0.3.3 - Maintenance & Visuals - 8 July 2026
This is a bigger patch with new maintenance mechanic and a ton of visual immersion improvements, with the distant horizons that makes the render distance up to 4km (old one was 512m max), ambient life and better fluid flow rendering. FluxWerks v0.3.3 - 08-07-2026 New Features Machine Maintenance - Machines now wear down over time and need repairs to keep running. Wear speed depends on the biome, and harsh weather wears exposed machines much faster, so sheltering machines from the elements now pays off. Below 50% condition a machine runs slower, and at 0% it stops until repaired. New alerts warn you when machines are wearing down, and the wiki's new Maintenance page has the full biome and weather details. Repair Packs - Two new craftable items restore machine condition: the Basic Repair Pack (also hand-craftable) and the Advanced Repair Pack for higher-tier machines (assembly only). Your…
- v0.3.1 - New World - 4 July 2026
FluxWerks v0.3.1 - 04-07-2026 New Features New World Generator - The terrain generator has been rebuilt from the ground up. It is several times faster and produces real overhangs, mountain shelves and recessed cliffs that the old terrain could never form. Old save games work, but you will see disconnected/ugly seams between newly generated and saved areas due to the large amount of changes on the algorithm. Rivers Through Mountains - Rivers carve proper channels with natural banks, and where they meet high terrain they bore through it as tunnels under real connected stone instead of splitting the landscape open. New Cave System - Caves are now large underground caverns linked by wide tunnels that reach the surface. Caves are also much more detailed (if the details are enabled from graphics settings). Landmark Structures - Various structures now generate around the world, from ruins and…
- v0.3.0 - The Big One - 1 July 2026
Larger update with lots of goodies in it! Biggest mechanic change is that heat simulation was completely overhauled so it is now properly energy conserving and based on actual energy values coming from building waste heat. Also different solid materials have different heat conductivity values so you can use insulating materials to trap heat and direct it via copper blocks for examle to recoupe the heat by heat sinks and re-using for steam power. Old saves from 0.2.X work but due to big balance changes old builds might need re-adjusting. One critical change is that old computers must be demolished and re-built to get the building ports under them for the water input/output. FluxWerks v0.3.0 - 01-07-2026 New Features Music - The game now has music tracks by JustWall, with an in-game music player to control playback. Hear more of his work at https://justwallmusic.bandcamp.com/ Computer Coo…
- Plan mode and other things! - 24 June 2026
Plan mode is here! Buildings can now be placed down as plan holograms without spending materials. In the explicit plan mode all buildings are placed as plans so you can easily try out different placements to see how they fit and finally use the new Toggle tool to build them. When not in plan mode all buildings you place, but have no materials for are also placed down as plans so you are not interrupted when running out of materials. The materials bar shows at glance what materials you are missing from existing plans and if auto build is enabled, any nearby plans turn into active constructions as soon as you have enough materials in your inventory. This was a necessary pre-work to make saveable blueprints possible and I'm planning (hehe) to have blueprints at latest for the Early Access release, but probably sooner already for the demo too. FluxWerks v0.2.24 - 24-06-2026 New Features Pla…
- Updates 0.2.20 - 0.2.23 - 21 June 2026
FluxWerks v0.2.23 - 21-06-2026 New Features Building Notes - Write your own freeform text above any building from its inspector panel, with optional colors and inline item icons. The in-game guide lists the tags. Improvements Building Overlays - The floating overlay above buildings (toggled with U) now shows each building's inputs and outputs and your notes, and can be displayed as either icons or text. New Settings options let you choose what is shown and adjust text size, icon size, view distance and background. Bug Fixes Fixed the text cursor being nearly invisible while typing in text fields. Fixed quick insert/take, the pipette, and recipe copy/paste no longer working after leaving belt or pipe building with Escape or when switching directly to another tool. FluxWerks v0.2.22 - 20-06-2026 Bug Fixes Fixed clicking a slider, checkbox, or other panel control sometimes leaving movement…
- Updates 0.2.16 - 0.2.19 - 19 June 2026
FluxWerks v0.2.19 - 19-06-2026 New Features Clickable notifications - alerts now include links: location alerts (like a depleted extractor) open the map and drop a pin at the spot, while others link to the relevant help page or the statistics panel. Improvements Map follow mode - the map's Center button now locks the view to follow the player. Single power alert - low power and a full power outage now show as one alert that updates in place, instead of two separate notifications that could flicker back and forth. Computing shortage warning - you now get an alert when your factory needs more computing than it has. Map pins - the pins panel now resizes to fit pin names without a scrollbar, lines coordinates up in a column, and shows the full name on hover. Bug Fixes Fixed a rare crash when demolishing a fluid extractor or fluid output. Fixed nanobots getting stuck until manually cancelled…
- Updates 0.2.13 - 0.2.15 - 16 June 2026
FluxWerks v0.2.15 - 16-06-2026 New Features Bricks Research Brick Processing to fire clay into bricks, a new decorative building block (no functional use yet). Improvements Keybinding overhaul You can now rebind almost any action, keyboard keys, mouse buttons, the scroll wheel, and modifier combinations. NOTE: YOUR KEYBINDINGS HAVE BEEN RESET TO DEFAULTS because the keybinding system was completely rebuilt. Field of View New field of view slider in the Display & Graphics settings. Bug Fixes Fixed overflow inventory being lost when saving the game. Fixed continuing a belt around a corner while sloping up or down breaking the flow. Fixed belt router priority outputs not getting filled first properly in certain cases. Fixed the building inspector panel cutting off its content for some buildings instead of resizing to fit properly. Fixed placed glass and other see-through blocks being invis…
- v0.2.12 - 14 June 2026
FluxWerks v0.2.12 - 14-06-2026 New Features Wind Turbine Mk1 - A new wind-powered electricity generator. Improvements Manual Belt & Pipe Building - Belt and pipe placement is now fully manual and predictable: lay a run, toggle mode for sloped belts or vertical pipes, and each section chains onto the last so you can route in one continuous flow. Build Tool Options - Added an Auto-Chain toggle for belt and pipe placement, and a Drag Build Delay setting that stops a quick click from accidentally laying a second parallel line of belts, pipes, or buildings. Demolish Belts & Pipes - The Demolish tool now removes belts and pipes alongside buildings: click removes a single tile (drag to sweep), Ctrl removes the whole connected line, and area demolish clears every tile in the box. The separate Remove Belt and Remove Pipe tools have been removed; the Shift/Ctrl quick-delete while building still w…
- Update v0.2.10 - 12 June 2026
FluxWerks v0.2.10 - 12-06-2026 New Features Drag to Build - hold the place button and drag to build a whole row or field of the selected building at once. Configure the building first (rotation, elevator height, inserter reach, …) and every copy matches it; Q/E adjusts the spacing between buildings while dragging. Parallel belt and pipe lines - aim a belt or pipe line as usual, then hold the confirm click and drag sideways to stamp up to 8 identical parallel lines; Q/E adjusts the gap between them while dragging. Statistics panel - replaces the old Power panel. Graphs now persist with your save game and track per building data for power, computing and pollution. Fluid Storage - new tank building (unlocked by Fluid Handling) for buffering fluids, filled and drained with fluid pumps. Item storages no longer accept fluids. Stack Size research - new repeatable bot upgrade (9 levels) that in…
- More updates - 10 June 2026
FluxWerks v0.2.9 — 10-06-2026 New Features Elevator — a new logistics building that moves items vertically. Building-to-building transfer — inserters and fluid pumps can now move items and fluids directly between two adjacent buildings. Placing an inserter between two buildings automatically connects them. Fluid pumps connect automatically to adjacent buildings or pipes. Improvements Repeat Fill/Replace — a new hotkey (default Z) and toolbar button re-activate your last fill or replace with the same material and settings, skipping the material picker. Quick insert and quick take (Ctrl+Left/Right-click on buildings) can now be held — sweep the cursor across a row of buildings to fill or empty them all without clicking each one. Hold both buttons at once to do both in one pass, e.g. refilling a row of foundries while pulling their finished output. Mining-designation nanobots now work the…
- Demo updates - 7 June 2026
FluxWerks — Updates v0.2.1 to v0.2.5 Summary of everything that has changed across the last five updates. v0.2.5 — 07-06-2026 New Features Cooler MK 1 — A new active electric cooler that pumps water through to aggressively remove heat from the surrounding area. Requires power and water. Target temperature is adjustable via the thermostat. Unlocked through the new Active Cooling research. Improvements Heat Simulation — Heat spread is now more linear across a wider area, preventing extreme temperature spikes from forming inside buildings. Extractor Auto-Select — When placing an extractor over a deposit with only one available ore type, it is now automatically selected. Slider Input Fix — Movement keys (WASD) no longer accidentally adjust slider…
- Demo is out! - 4 June 2026
FluxWerks demo is out! What terrifying and exciting feeling, putting the game finally publicly playable. The demo has roughly 6-10 hours of content to play through depending on how familiar you are with the factory building genre. Game is still in early development so if you encounter any bugs or other annoying issues please let me know on the Steam discussion forum or join the FluxWerks discord at https://discord.gg/b2aagDukBj Thanks for trying out the demo!
- Stress testing belts and buildings - 17 May 2026
Greetings! My first post is here finally. Have been hard at work making the game demo ready for the Steam Next Fest and it is shaping up to be playable and running well already. The game has some technically demanding features, so it has been quite an effort optimizing and having the architecture in place for everything to work out and run well. - Fluid simulation: There is no usual voxel game "fake" water that just stays still or magically spreads few blocks, but instead all fluid is fully simulated and mass preserved. - Temperature simulation: Biomes have different base temperatures, but machines also generate heat, which needs to be managed. For example tightly packed computer clusters (bonuses if built adjacent to each other) generate a lot of heat which needs to be dealt with by heat sinks or active coolers as overheating reduces building's efficiency or can even destroy them at ex…
