  • Update 2.7.1 - 9 September 2026

Fixes On PCs with a single screen, or a laptop set to show on only one screen, the whole desktop could turn black the moment RuneClick opened, with only the character and menus showing, and stay that way until you alt-tabbed to another window. The see-through overlay window was exactly the size of the screen, and while it had focus some graphics drivers treated it as a fullscreen game and stopped blending it with the desktop. The window now sits one pixel short of the screen, which keeps it out of that fullscreen path. If you added the launch option from the bug report thread as a workaround, you can take it back out on 2.7.1. The six benches you build with Construction now finish on their carved final frame. The last build stopped one stage short and showed the plain bench twice. Under the hood The startup log now records the screen layout the game saw, so any black-screen report can b…

  • Update 2.7.0 - Construction & Slayer - 19 August 2026

New skill: Construction Construction is the twentieth skill. You build furniture for your Holding, the plot of land beside your character, and the building itself is the reward: no item is minted, the experience is the product. It is also the first real use planks have ever had, alongside two new Smithing products, nails and gold leaf, Fifty repeatable pieces run from an oak chair at level 1 to an elder throne at 99, in six wood tiers, and each one assembles on screen stage by stage as you work. Bigger pieces take longer and cost more, but every piece in a tier earns at the same rate, so what you build is a matter of taste and pacing rather than efficiency. The Holding's permanent works Thirteen one-time builds are the reason to keep going. They are large projects, hundreds of inputs each, and they change how the rest of the game plays. Restoration Spring, four tiers: every kill restore…

  • Update 2.6.3 - 6 August 2026

FixesDuring Magic combat, equipped jewellery stuck on one pose for more than half of each idle loop, and the robe's sway visibly jumped partway through. Both animate smoothly again. Same root cause as the melee armour fix in the last update. The jewellery art was drawn against the shorter idle sway, and against the longer one it kept landing on the wrong frame. Magic goes back to the shorter sway too. Long hover text now wraps into a compact box instead of stretching across the screen in a single line. The settings rows and the leaderboard filter buttons were the worst offenders. During Farming's batch identify, the item names that fly off the table could be cut off at the top of the drawn area if the skill readout was collapsed. They now show in full. — Vosk

  • Update 2.6.2 - 30 July 2026

Fixes Hover text and dropdown menus no longer get their right edge cut off where they run past the overlay's clickable area. This one kept coming back, because the hover text Windows draws is not something the game holds on to, so it could never be added to the list of things the overlay checks. It is now handled for every tooltip and every dropdown at once, including any added later. Melee combat no longer shows a bare arm through the gap in the chest plate. The armor was only ever drawn against the shorter idle sway, so against the longer one (Added in v2.4.0) it lined up with the wrong pose for three frames out of seven. Melee goes back to the shorter sway, and the plates sit correctly again. Equipped jewelry keeps animating properly in melee combat as part of the same change. One cause of the overlay locking up On every frame, RuneClick was asking Windows whether a Fullscreen progra…

  • Update 2.6.1 - 28 July 2026

Leaderboards The Global board now opens on Autoclickers hidden. All scores is one click away, and whichever view you pick is remembered between sessions. This hides accounts that have been flagged. It does not check the ones that are left, so unflagged does not mean verified. Auto-input is still allowed. No scores were reset or rolled back. Ranked below the top 100? Your own row is now pinned under the list with your real rank. You are never hidden from your own board, and the panel now tells you if your account is flagged. Total Experience past 2.1 billion Leaderboard scores are stored as a 32-bit number, so Total Experience stopped counting at 2,147,483,647. It is now stored divided by 10 and multiplied back for display. The in-game panel shows the true number as it always has. The Steam Community leaderboard page and the Steam overlay read the stored value directly, so they show Tota…

  • Update 2.6.0 - Firemaking - 26 July 2026

New skill: Firemaking Firemaking is a new production skill. Each input burns one log for experience and produces that log's own ash. The recipe ladder matches Woodcutting, so any log you can chop you can burn: oak at level 1, willow 15, maple 30, yew 45, magic 60, elder 80. Burning a log gives 1.5x the experience cutting it gave, which makes it the largest use Woodcutting has ever had. Each tier has its own animated bonfire in its wood's colour, and the character has a new burn animation with all seven jewellery overlays drawn for it. Firemaking is the 19th skill that can reach level 99. Ash and compost Oak, willow and maple ash upgrade compost into Supercompost. Yew, magic and elder ash make Ultracompost. Higher-tier ash needs fewer units: 6, 4 or 2 per bucket. Supercompost: disease chance x0.2, +3 harvest lives, 10% chance of an extra item per pull. Ultracompost: disease chance x0.1,…

  • Update 2.5.0 - Herblore and Farming - 11 July 2026

New skill: HerbloreHerblore is a new production skill built around brewing combat potions. Herbs come out of the ground unidentified, so the first step is sorting them: grind a pile of mystery leaves and each one resolves into a random clean herb, the rarest showing up about once in eighty thousand sifts. From there you brew, one clean herb plus an empty vial plus a secondary ingredient into a finished potion, with a four-ingredient super mix at the very top. There are nineteen potions to learn, and a gold-sink apothecary bench you upgrade across three tiers to squeeze more experience out of every brew. You can also crush spare gems into dust for the trickier recipes, and the higher the gem the more dust it yields (the ultra-rare onyx is deliberately left out so a stray click can never destroy one). The nineteen potions: Attack, Strength, and Defence Potions, plus their Super versions,…

  • Hotfix 2.4.1 - 25 June 2026

The Lumber Stall, back in line The Lumber Stall had been slipping you Bird's Nests, and its rarest logs, far more often than it ever should, well past the rate you would turn them up out woodcutting. That is corrected now. The nest goes back to being the prize it was meant to be, and the top-tier logs keep their worth, so neither one gets undercut by a low-level stall. In your language The Prayer and Thieving leaderboards now show their names in your language instead of dropping back to English, and the gold amounts on what you steal read properly in Japanese and Korean. Small gaps left from the last update, now closed. The rest Re-selecting the mark you are already working no longer wipes the "caught" cooldown after a failed steal, so a botched lift costs you the same beat it always should. A round of quiet housekeeping behind the scenes. — Vosk

  • Update 2.4.0 - Prayer and Thieving - 16 June 2026

Prayer A brand new skill joins the lineup. Bury the bones your enemies drop to train Prayer, anything from common bones up to dragon and abyssal bones, with the rarer drops worth far more experience. Unlock altars as you climb, a gold sink that multiplies the experience every bone gives you. There are three altars to work toward, each a steeper investment than the last. In combat your prayers draw from a points pool that drains as you fight and refills with every enemy you put down. Twenty-two prayers fill the book. Raise an overhead ward to block an incoming melee, ranged, or magic blow outright, or call on the offensive and defensive prayers to sharpen your accuracy, hit harder, and soak more damage, all the way up to a handful of elite prayers that roll several boosts into one. Select an enemy and the book tells you exactly which ward stops its attack style.Thieving The second new sk…

  • Update 2.3.0 - 7 June 2026

Smithing, rebuilt The midgame Smithing grind was the worst offender in the game, and this update tears it down. Metal bars no longer need logs as fuel. You smelt with ore, plus coal from steel on up, and nothing else. Forging tools, weapons, and armor no longer needs planks at all. If you want a chestplate, you need bars, full stop. No side trips through Woodcutting and Crafting just to start smithing. On top of that, smelting a bar is now a single action and grants far more experience, so it is finally worth doing on its own. Start to finish, the smelt and forge loop is several times faster than before. Faster across the board Cooking, Crafting, and Woodcutting all had their experience rates raised to sit in line with the rest of the skills, so no single skill feels like a slog next to its neighbors. Cooking also burns less food while you are still learning a new fish, so more of your…

  • Update 2.2.0 - 2 June 2026

Play in your language RuneClick is now fully translated into Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Pick your language in Settings and the whole game switches over live, no restart needed. Every skill, item, enemy, menu, and tooltip reads in your language. Cosmetic tool finishes A new way to spend your hard-earned gold at the top of the game. Unlock the Gilded and Void finishes in the shop and apply them to your axe, pickaxe, and fishing rod. They carry no stats and change nothing about how you gather. They are pure prestige, a way to make your tools look like yours. New pets and rare finds Woodcutting, Mining, and Fishing each have their own mega-rare pet to chase now: the Beaver, the Rock Golem, and the Baby Kraken. Woodcutting can also turn up a Bird's Nest, which you open at the bank for seeds or a piece of jewelry, and if you are absurdly lucky…

  • Update 2.1.0 - 29 May 2026

XP rates adjusted Gathering and production grant more XP per action than they did in v2.0. Your existing XP and levels carry over, with the same effort credited under the new rates. Steam no longer blacks out The Steam client stays responsive when RuneClick launches and when you alt-tab between them. Big thanks to Mr. Vorx & Kaptain Kuddles for the bug report! Always-on-top sticks RuneClick stays on top through alt-tab, Win+D, and focus-stealing apps. No more falling behind the taskbar. Bank sell quantities The QTY bar now reads 1 / 10 / 50 / 100 / 500 / 1000 / All. Loadout hotkeys default off The number-key gear swap shortcut is opt-in on fresh installs. Existing preferences are honored. New app icon The taskbar and Alt+Tab thumbnail show the new v2.0 icon. — Vosk

  • Update 2.0.3 - 26 May 2026

Level-up fireworks Hitting a new level used to ping a one-line notification and that was it. Your character now gets framed with a burst of fireworks whenever a level pops. The fireworks fan out across the upper canvas in a staggered burst over about a second and a half, varied colors per pop. Level up several times in one big XP gain and you get one celebration per level. Shop reset timer The general store has been scaling prices up 5% per recent purchase since v1.0 launch. Each scaling tick decays back to base five minutes after that purchase, but there was no visible feedback for when the price would actually normalize. Every shop item with active scaling now shows "Resets in m:ss" right under the price. Buy ten logs, watch the timer count down, come back when the price is back to normal. Collection log icon grid The Collection tab in the Stats menu used to be a wall of item names yo…

  • Update 2.0.2 - 25 May 2026

The in-game guide A new Guide button on the menu opens a full in-game reference. Skills tab shows every resource, recipe, and piece of gear for the selected skill, with their level requirements. Runecraft has its own breakpoint table so you can see exactly when each rune starts doubling and tripling. Right-click any skill icon to jump straight to its guide page. Monsters tab shows enemy stats and drop tables, sorted by combat level. Items you haven't looted yet show as "???" — the drop slot is there, you just don't know what fills it yet. Killing things should reveal them. Loadout hotkeys Number keys 1, 2, 3, 4 swap your gear preset mid-action — Skilling, Melee, Ranged, Magic by default. Pressing the hotkey instantly switches both your active skill and the gear loadout for that skill. Customize the bindings or turn the whole system off in the Equipment panel. Mid-fight gear swapping is…

  • RuneClick 2.0.1 Hotfix - 24 May 2026

Steam navigation freeze The Steam client UI would freeze while RuneClick was running. The 2.0 canvas spans the entire virtual desktop so multi-monitor character dragging works, and Steam's "fullscreen game running" heuristic was classifying that as a fullscreen game and suppressing its own UI rendering. The game's window now flags itself as a tool window so Steam doesn't make that mistake. You can browse Steam normally with RuneClick open. Armor-set achievements Iron-Plated, Soft Step, and The Robed weren't unlocking even with a full set on. The check was looking at the wrong slot name and never matching. Fixed. The check now requires the three armor pieces (helmet, chest, legs) of the matching family — equip a full set in any of the three combat presets and the achievement fires immediately. Fletching early game Oak shortbow recipes now unlock at Fletching level 1 instead of level 5. N…

  • RuneClick 2.0 — The Combat Update - 24 May 2026

RuneClick 2.0 is live. The Combat Update is in your client on next Steam restart. If you came to RuneClick for chopping trees and mining ore, all of that still works exactly the same. Combat is optional. If you came for something bigger, this is what you've been waiting for. Three combat styles Melee, Ranged, and Magic each show up in the active-skill row alongside the existing six gathering and production skills. Pick one and every keystroke and click becomes a swing, a shot, or a cast. The same way every other skill in RuneClick has always worked. No timers, no auto-attack ticks. Your real input is your damage. A stance picker sits next to the skill row and routes XP. Melee has four stances: Accurate, Aggressive, Defensive, and Shared. Ranged and Magic each have two. Hitpoints gains XP from every damage tick across all three styles. Combat has its own active state. While you're attack…

  • RuneClick 2.0 sneak peek - 15 May 2026

Hey everyone, quick update on what I've been working on since 1.0.4 shipped. I've been busy. RuneClick 2.0 is almost here. I've been calling it the Combat Update internally and that's still the right name. It's by a wide margin the biggest update the game has ever had. The screenshot above is a real shot from the current dev branch. Here's what you're looking at. What's in the screenshot Stats panel on the left: the expanded skill list. 14 skills now, the 6 originals plus the 8 new ones from The Combat Update: Attack, Strength, Defence, Hitpoints, Ranged, Magic, Fletching, Runecraft. (Melee adds a ninth icon to the skill row as the umbrella combat style but doesn't have its own level. More on that another time.) Bank in the middle: reorganised with category tabs and an icon grid. You can see the new mining materials (Coal, Mithril, Adamantite, the proper Runite), the new endgame Magic L…

  • Update 1.0.4 - 30 April 2026

Settings now shows your leaderboard status A new Leaderboards section in Settings shows whether your account is Clean, Verified, Filtered, or Submitted for review. Filtered means the autoclicker filter has flagged you, and players who turn the filter on won't see your scores. Clean and Verified both mean your scores show up normally. If you've been filtered and you don't actually use autoclicker software, you can submit a review request from the Settings panel. I'll look at your account personally and decide whether to clear the flag. You stay filtered while you wait. Reviews are usually completed within a few days. The classifier itself got better at the same time. Friends leaderboard rank fix The Friends view now shows your position among friends instead of your global rank. Previously a player who was #1 among their friends would still see their global rank in the Friends view, which…

  • Update 1.0.3 - 26 April 2026

Filter autoclickers on leaderboard Some accounts have been posting leaderboard scores at rates only possible through 24/7 automated input. The most common complaint since launch is that those scores discourage players going at a real pace. The leaderboard panel now has a checkbox: "Filter autoclickers." Off by default. When you turn it on, accounts the server has flagged are hidden, and the visible ranks renumber 1, 2, 3 from the top. Autoclickers can keep doing what they're doing. Their scores still post, they still appear on the unfiltered view, no scores are reset or rolled back. The toggle is a viewing preference for players who'd rather not see those entries. Detection isn't perfect. If you think someone's incorrectly flagged or missing, email [email protected]. — Vosk

  • Hotfix 1.0.2 - 25 April 2026

Workshop upload fix If you used the in-game "Upload to Workshop" button on Windows, the resulting Workshop item came out empty (zero files, "Build for workshop item has no content" in the Steam log). Cause: Godot was passing forward-slash paths to Steam's UGC content scanner, which uses Win32 file APIs that can't enumerate folders given Unix-style separators on Windows. Steam silently produced an empty manifest and reported back a generic Fail. Now fixed: paths are converted to native Windows separators before the SDK call, with an existence check that fails loudly instead of silently if anything's off. Reported by Sellyme on launch day in the Mod Policy thread. SteamCMD uploads were never affected; this only impacted the in-game button. — Vosk
