- Balance Fixes and Other Stuffs - 20 August 2026
Hey everyone! We spent the last few days shortening runs, cutting down boss health, and removing upgrades that had no business showing up for your build. Shorter runs: Danger levels 1 to 5 now end on waves 7, 10, 12, 14, and 15.Fairer bosses: Midbosses and final bosses have a lot less health. They can still kill you. They just will not take forever doing it.Weapon buffs: Sword, Volley, Shuriken, Fire Staff, and Lightning Staff now deal more damage. Weaker weapons are also more likely to roll useful damage upgrades.Better items: Final Cut is cheaper, Crowd Surge has a much smaller armor penalty, and Dragon Staff can gain additional projectiles.Fewer useless upgrades: Duration and Projectile Speed will no longer appear when your current loadout cannot use them.Smoother difficulty: We adjusted enemy scaling, wave healing, gold rewards, and boss pacing across every Danger level.Combat polis…
- Update: Balancing, New Arena, New Weapon, New Enemies and lots of Bug fixes - 16 August 2026
Hey everyone! New Bonki D Bonk update is out. New biome, new weapon, three new enemies, a Night Lord rework with better balancing stats. New arena: Cemetery A foggy night graveyard with lanterns, tombstones and bones everywhere. Shows up from Danger 2 on. Three new enemies: Gravewalker, a slow heavy undead brawler. Commits hard to every swing, so give it room. Gloomwing, a small fast bat. Arrives in fives. Gorewing, the blood red big brother. Slower, tankier, hits much harder, comes in threes. New weapon: Soul Staff Souls circle you, breathing in and out, gnawing on anything they sweep through. The ring doesn't sit still. It expands and contracts, so it sweeps a whole band around you instead of one thin circle. It also lies flat on the ground and passes behind and in front of you, so you can always tell where it is. Better Balancing The Wave 5 midboss on Danger 3+ was a wall. It now has…
- Update: New Enemies, Items, and Weapons - 14 August 2026
Hey everyone! A new Bonki D Bonk demo update is live. This is one of our bigger updates, with ten new regular enemies, a new boss, Dragon’s Staff, 13 new items, tougher encounters, combat improvements, and a proper introduction to Sir Oofalot. New enemies Golem and Ancient Golem use heavy ground slams that send damaging shockwaves across the arena. Pot Creature hops into close combat and throws arcing orbs with marked landing spots. Quartz fires crystals across three separate damage lanes, so positioning matters. Thwack is a close-range club fighter with a powerful charge attack. Goblin Fighter attacks with a continuous two-hit spinning combo. Ribsy is a fast close-range charger found in Wasteland and Island. Mutant Rat can rush you down or throw bubbles that leave poison clouds behind. Green and Purple Skitters join the Grassland roster as quick ranged attackers. Zhaevor has also joine…
- Update: 6 New Enemies, 13 New Items - 1 August 2026
New enemies Golem uses a powerful ground slam that sends out a red-and-black shockwave before the creature collapses. The shockwave itself deals the damage, so you won’t get accidentally hit twice when standing close to it. Ancient Golem is a second stone variant with the same heavy slam and shockwave mechanics. Up to six Golems can appear at once across both variants. Pot Creature hops toward players for close-range attacks and can throw an arcing orb. The landing spot is marked before the orb bursts, giving you a moment to move out of the way. It can appear in Wasteland and Island. Quartz fires a crystal spread across three separate lanes. Each lane deals damage independently, so watch your positioning. It can appear in Grassland, Wasteland and Highlands. Thwack is a close-range club fighter with a clearly telegraphed charge attack and audio that lines up more closely with its animati…
- Update: 9 New Weapons, 6 New Items - 27 July 2026
New weapons Tempest Bow shoots arrow in the sky and rains on the enemies. Any kill summons a tornado to finish the job off to blast other enemies besides them. Holy Sword forms blades overhead and launches them. Hits have a 20% chance to call down a Holy Judgment blast. Aegis Shield damages enemies inside its field. Sustained hits charge an overload that slows. Reaper targets whoever is closest to death. Bonus damage below a HP threshold, larger against bosses, and direct kills refund cooldown. Rift Punch opens a rift and summons a giant fist. Cometfall summons burning comets over nearby enemies. They explode on impact and ignite survivors. Bubble Gun fires drifting bubbles that slow enemies on contact. Energy Beam channels a focused beam that scorches everything in its path. Moist Sword summons a sword beneath a target. Ice Staff rework. It now drops an ice crystal that strikes and fre…
- Update: New Items, UI & Bugs fixes - 21 July 2026
Hey everyone! I spent the last two days heads-down on polish. This update brings a batch of new items, a rework of the end-of-wave shop, and fixes for some of the most annoying visual bugs in the game. Here is what changed. New Items Thunder Clap, a crackling orb that ricochets through the crowd. Martyr's Cross, a holy cross that answers a well-timed dodge with a detonation. Comes with its own summon and blast sounds. Kick Start (and its Split Volley upgrade), for players who want to hit the ground running at the start of every wave. Whetstone, Weak Point, Grudge, Warpath, new tools for sharpening your damage, punishing weak spots, and rewarding aggression. The Vows (Fury, Greed, Stone, Storm), high-commitment picks for players who like their builds with an edge. New icons for all of the above, and a new on-hit Slow status with its own swirl visual so you can see exactly who you have cr…
- Update: New Weapons, Items and Shrines - 18 July 2026
Hey Bonkers! We've been heads-down and this one's a big one. New weapons, a whole new arena event, a chunky balance shake-up, and a mountain of fixes. Thanks for sticking with us and for every bit of feedback, it genuinely shapes what we build. Grab a snack, here's everything. New Toys Shock Gun — the old Shotgun traded its buckshot for lightning. It now fires a bolt that bursts into a crackling field and zaps anything standing in it. Smoke Gun (was the Revolver) — puffs out fat, slow-drifting smoke rounds instead of tiny bullets, so they hit a touch softer but are way easier to track. No more white streak: real smoke now rolls off the muzzle, through the air, and on impact, with a punchier crack when you fire. And its signature ricochet got a big buff — every hit now has a 50% chance to bounce to a fresh target. Bloody Staff — a new staff that summons wing-flapping blood bats to bite e…
- Big Update - 16 July 2026
Hey everyone,We’ve been working on a pretty big update. There’s now a new Island arena, new enemies like Anubis, Mummy, Cyclops, Hexguard and Warden, plus new weapons including Portal Fist, PoisonFlask and Volley. We removed the old Item Tree and added Challenge Shrines. If you activate one, you’ll have todefeat a group of elite enemies before the timer runs out. Beat them in time and you’ll get abonus chest. Most of our time went into finishing and polishing the core game loop. Waves flow better, theshop is easier to use, enemy groups have more variety, and buying, locking, banning andrerolling items feels much better. The character Rank system is also finished. Each character now earns ranks and titles based onkills, with a proper rank-up screen and Rank 100 Mastery to work toward. There are also plenty of smaller improvements to bosses, UI, audio, controller support andgeneral game fee…
- You gave our demo a mountain of feedback. - 11 July 2026
Hey everyone,we've got tons of feedback from reddit for the free demo of our arena survivor Bonki D Bonk and we went through every comment, turned the whole thing into a task list, and have been shipping it since. The updated demo is live now. Here's everything that changed, roughly ordered by impact:You can't get one-shot from high HP anymore. The top complaint. If you're above 50% health, a single hit can't kill you. You survive at 1 HP with a brief mercy window to react. Dying is part of the genre, dying with no chance to respond isn't.Exploding enemies play fair now. A few of them had no explosion visual or sound at all, they just deleted you. They actually explode now, visibly and audibly. The warning circle also pauses when you stun or knock the enemy back, so the blast can never land after the warning already vanished.Night Lord got a full rework. His "any enemy hit kills you ins…
- New Update: Clearer Combat, Better Runs - 8 July 2026
Hey everyone,New updates are coming in quickly as we get closer to release. Here’s what’s new:Better Item Tree structureImproved hitboxes and hurtboxes to make combat feel fairer and clearer. Some players mentioned they were not always sure what hit them, so this should make damage much easier to understand.Added a death portrait that shows the enemy that killed you during your run, making it even clearer what ended the run.Added a global Steam leaderboard that resets every 180 hours, tracking the highest kill counts. There is also a separate friends leaderboard so you can compare your best runs with your friends.Added several bug fixes and UI improvements for extra polish as we move closer to the release date.As always, let me know what you think and what else I can improve.
