  • v1.1.3 — House Rules: the deck stops lying to you - 23 August 2026

A player asked a fair question about the Mirror Shard relic. Its text read "When your Block fully eats an enemy hit, the attacker takes 3."Three WHAT? Damage? Corruption? Some status building up?Fair. That relic now reads "the attacker takes 3 Damage (ignores Block)" — and so does everything else in the game. Plus: THE GAMBLER finally gets a full deck, and a keyword of its own.EVERY NUMBER SAYS WHAT IT COUNTSWe swept every card, relic and anomaly in the game and gave every bare number its unit.- Mirror Shard, First Strike, Zero Cool, Opening Gambit and Rubber Gasket all told you a number and left you guessing. They don't now.- "dmg" is gone; it's Damage everywhere. Stray lowercase "block" and "energy" are gone too. Healing says HP.- Multi-hit attacks used to be written five different ways — "twice", "3 times", "two times", ", 4 times" — and none of them showed the total. They now all re…

  • v1.1.2 — Second Signal: the wire answers back - 19 July 2026

1.1.0 was for the parties. 1.1.2 is for the replayers. A new operator, new finales, new horrors, new noise — and a new way to hunt. THE GAMBLER — A FIFTH OPERATOR Risk & payoff. Double or Nothing flips a coin for 10 damage or for nothing. Loaded Dice spins a wheel from zero to double. All In bets your own corruption on one 30-damage flip. And the house never tilts against THE GAMBLER at the Jackpot — every paid pull rides first-pull odds. Unlocks after clearing the campaign as THE OPERATOR. THREE WARDENS PER CHAPTER Every act's boss used to be a fixed appointment. Now each chapter draws its finale from a pool of three. The Outer Net might end in The First Worm or Handshake; the Deep Stack in Stack Smasher or The Collector; and so on down to The Root and Origin waiting at the Source. The map's boss intel always names the warden you'll actually face, every co-op client sees the same one,…

  • v1.1.0 — Party Line: co-op gets tougher, fairer, and unbreakable - 19 July 2026

Playtesters — this build is all about co-op. You told us it could soft-lock, stall, and steamroll. We think all three are dead. Now we need you to try to prove us wrong. PLEASE TRY TO BREAK THESE Disconnects. Drop a player mid-fight (close the game, pull wifi, alt-F4). Their operator should go idle (-- OFFLINE -- on the rail), the fight should carry on without them, and every vote / shop / victory screen should only wait on the people actually present. If you ever hit a ready-up that can never complete, that's the bug — grab a screenshot. Reconnects. After you drop, relaunch and rejoin the same run. You should land on a RECONNECTED screen and drop back in at the next junction with your full deck, relics, and HP. Tell us if anything comes back wrong. Card plays under crossfire. Have everyone spam cards at the same time. Your selection should survive a teammate acting at the same moment.…

  • v1.0.9 — Bad Sector: cleaner signal, a meaner descent, and something in the stat - 16 July 2026

More of your playtest reports, folded in — thank you. This one sands down the rough UI edges you flagged, makes the endless descent dangerous again, and buries something new in the wire. Your reports, fixed The music stops misbehaving. Battle music no longer creeps in on its own while you sit on a menu, or follows you back to the main menu. Tracks now belong to the screen that asked for them — and start promptly instead of arriving late. No more □ in the text. Those blank boxes in reward and relic descriptions (and the SALVAGED screen) are gone — every character the terminal font couldn't draw was swapped for one it can. Descriptions read clean. The Warez Dealer's whole shelf is reachable. Trading a relic used to show only the first eight with no way to scroll. Now the full list scrolls on mouse, keyboard, and controller alike. And if the dealer has nothing left you don't already own, t…

  • v1.0.8 — Root Access: the UI fixes you called in (and the hood comes off) - 16 July 2026

Smaller than the last drop on the surface — bigger than it looks underneath. This one is the interface papercuts you reported on the wire, fixed, plus a ground-up rebuild of the game's guts that makes every update from here faster and safer. The fixes you called in The highlight that ate the screen. Selecting an operator, a relic, or a menu row used to throw a big bright box that didn't line up with what it was highlighting. Gone. The focused row now simply inverts — dark text on a bright bar with a clean ► marker — so what's selected is always obvious, and it never overshoots the panel. Boxes that ballooned. Some picker lists stretched their last row to fill the screen, leaving one giant panel above a wall of empty space. The layout now shares the room evenly and caps how tall any single row can grow. Blank squares in the text. A handful of card and relic descriptions were rendering □…

  • v1.0.7 — Clear Signal: CHAPTER 5, a Five-Phase Final Boss, +30 of Everything - 15 July 2026

Straight from your reports on the wire — thank you. This one turned into the biggest update the game has ever had: a whole new chapter, a true final boss, a full content expansion, all-out boss cinematics, a balance pass, and a stack of fixes. CHAPTER 5 — THE SOURCE The campaign goes one level deeper. Below the Dark Web, below everything, there's a place where the wire began — cold-white phosphor, dead-quiet music, enemy packs built from the deadliest things you've met, and elites that hunt in PAIRS. The descent choice now waits below the NULL OPERATOR: hang up and take your win… or follow the hum all the way down. THE WIRE — five lives, five forms The true final boss. It sheds a form every time you kill it: THE WIRE → BARE COPPER → LIVE CURRENT → GROUND FAULT → SIGNAL ETERNAL. Five sculptures, 26 moves, 310 base HP — the longest fight in the game, with its own achievement (CUT THE WIRE…

  • v1.0.6 — Daily Dial-In: Leaderboards, New Modes & a Fat Stack of QoL - 12 July 2026

One wire. One day. Everyone on it — and now, so many more ways to run it. The wire hardens — everywhere Difficulty was rebalanced around one idea: the deeper you go, the harder it gets, and it never resets. Enemies now grow steadily stronger with every fight instead of softening at each new chapter — and the climb keeps compounding all the way down into DEAD AIR. Chapter 1 still eases you in; by the end it's a real fight, and the map shows a THREAT reading so you can watch it rise. Co-op scales the same way. And co-op can now KEEP LISTENING too: clear the Chapter 4 warden together and the host can lead the party into the endless descent, just like solo. Everything single-player can do, multiplayer can now do. THE JACKPOT — press your luck A new node haunts the map: a slot machine with real 3D reels. Gamble your GOLD (win doubles it, three-of-a-kind JACKPOT triples it, lose the lot), fee…

  • Linux & SteamOS support is coming — Deck testers wanted - 11 July 2026

Good news for the penguins and the handhelds: The Drawn Hour is adding native Linux and SteamOS support. No Proton, no workarounds — a real Linux build of the haunted BBS, same cursed wire, same co-op, same everything. Playtest first. The Linux build lands in The Drawn Hour Playtest first, so Linux desktop and Steam Deck players can help us shake it down before it goes wide. If you're in the playtest on Linux or a Deck, just update — Steam will hand you the native build automatically. This pairs with everything v1.0.5 is bringing: full controller support on every screen, button glyphs that switch live when you pick up a pad, and an on-screen keypad so a Deck never needs a keyboard. The couch was always the right place to answer the wire. Found something broken on Linux or Deck? Tell us in the discussions — font weirdness, controller hiccups, co-op trouble, anything. That's exactly what…

  • v1.0.5 — Hands On the Wire: Full Controller & Steam Deck Support + a 3D UI - 11 July 2026

The wire goes fully hands-on. This update rebuilds how the whole game feels to navigate — and how it looks doing it. And something new is trading out on the back channels... The Warez Dealer A new node on the map (~). A shady trader offers exactly ONE trade per visit: hand over a card and get a random card of HIGHER rarity back, or swap a relic for a different random relic. No refunds. No receipts. Works in co-op too — everyone makes their own deal. Viral Strains From Chapter 2 on, some enemies spawn MUTATED. «ARMORED» starts the fight plated in Block. «VOLATILE» detonates when it dies. «LEECHING» heals off every hit it lands. «REPLICANT» splits into a weaker copy the moment you put it down. The strain shows right in the enemy's name — read the room, plan your kill order. Full controller & Steam Deck support Every screen in the game — menus, map, combat, shop, codex, co-op lobby, all of…

  • v1.0.4 — Make Your Mark: Titles & a Thank-You to Playtesters - 9 July 2026

Small update, big personality. This one is about identity. TITLES Pick an epithet to wear beside your handle. You earn titles by earning achievements — silence MOTHER, climb the Ascensions, claim the MOST WANTED bounties — and each one becomes selectable in the new IDENTITY screen (hub → ). Whatever you choose shows on the hub, in the co-op lobby, and in combat, so the whole party knows who they're diving with. A thank-you to our playtesters If you dialed in during the playtest — before launch — you keep something no one else can get, even after full release: an exclusive title, an amber-gold handle color, an "amber phosphor" screen theme, and a Founders badge in the Codex. It's all cosmetic — no gameplay edge, ever — and it's yours to keep for good. In co-op, a ◆ founder mark rides beside your name so the party can see it. Corruption is a weapon now You told us Corruption felt like a t…

  • Playtest Update v1.0.3 — The Wire Opens - 8 July 2026

Everything that's changed since 1.0.2 — a huge one, shaped by your feedback. And a couple of things I'll let you find on your own. MOST WANTED — the bounty board A whole new mode beside the campaign: five legendary side bosses — STUXNET, ZEUS, CRYPTOLOCKER, MIRAI, and NOTPETYA — each with two forms and a signature dirty trick. STUXNET sabotages your energy. ZEUS raises botnets mid-fight. CRYPTOLOCKER encrypts the cards out of your hand. Pick a target, draft a loadout (5 cards + 2 relics on top of your starter deck), and duel. Win and the poster joins your trophy wall — forever. MOST WANTED is co-op Bring the party. In the co-op lobby the host can set the next dive to a duel against any of the five legends — draft your loadouts together, fight the legend together, and hang the poster on everyone's wall. Their summoned swarms sync across every screen in real time. PUBLIC GAMES — play with…

  • Playtest Update v1.0.2 - 7 July 2026

Bosses now die twice (MOTHER dies three times)Every boss collapses when its health hits zero... then reassembles into a fiercer second form: a fresh health bar, a new shape, new attacks, and a new name. The final boss walks through THREE forms — and all bosses pack +25% total health, split across their lives, because... Sectors run deeperMaps are roughly 50% longer: more fights, more anomalies, more safe nodes — and every chapter now GUARANTEES a Black Market in its first half AND its second half. No more runs where the RNG starves you of a shop. A real difficulty curveFights near the entry node are ~20% softer; the closer you crawl to the boss, the harder the processes hit (up to ~20% tougher). Ease in, gear up, then earn it. Chapter completion means something nowClear a chapter and you're patched to FULL health (your Corruption, however, stays with you...) and offered a guaranteed pic…
