- New Actual Difficulty Options - 29 May 2026
When starting a new game, you may select from Wanderer, Marauder, and Bard modes. Marauder Mode: This is hard mode. It is unchanged from the classic difficulty. Wanderer Mode: This is medium mode. Bosses have less health and enemies are generally slower and attack less often. You start with 2 extra hearts. Added damage in the Necro Pits is halved. Bard Mode: This is easy mode. You get a bunch of free items like before, bosses have even less health, and enemies are even slower and attack much less often. Enemy attack power is halved. There is no added damage on deeper floors of the Necro Pits. You can't change the difficulty once you start the game. For those who have save files already, your difficulty will be set automatically when you load the game. Bard Mode will be easy and Marauder Mode will be hard. To try out Wanderer Mode, you'll have to start a new game.

A demo for Johnny Lionface, the next game from MTC, has been released and we're celebrating with a week-long sale on Zeran's Folly and Leowald! Johnny Lionface is a twisted action RPG with deep build and character customization. The humor and feel will be more along the lines of Zeran's Folly instead of Leowald--crass, yet lovable. The story follows Johnny as he sword-and-boards his way across the land to become a true gladiator. Zeran's Folly Update Notes The second half of Pukamake Grotto is now completely optional. Use the Whisper Stone at the bottom to teleport. Slightly changed the room picker algorithm for the Necro Pits. If you get an outfit or talent reward for completing the depth in the Necro Pits, you will now also get the Necro Tokens. Cold Hearts are now half as expensive.

There's a new update to Zeran's Folly! Anne's Ride Service Ever wanted to fast travel around the world, not just around dungeons? Recruit Anne and she'll take you to a few places in her cruiser! She'll also pick you up from any Whisper Stone in the world and bring you back to the Hideout. Big Dialogue Box In the Graphics options there's a new setting for Big Dialogue Box which makes the dialogue box 25% bigger. World Map Jeasel now has a map of the area. He'll even let you see it for free! What a bargain! Abby's "Nightie" Outfit For those of you who have witnessed the Finale, switch to Abby and look under her bed. You may find something! Unfortunately this isn't retroactive so you may need to watch the finale again. Faster frames are here! Thanks to recent improvements to SFML, the game now has increased performance. Preliminary tests show a 100% increase in frame rate. The change isn't official yet though so let me know in the forums if anything explodes.

- New Update: The Necro Pits and the Finale - 8 February 2018
The Necro Pits are here! Slaughter undead and brave the depths in the new roguelite-inspired dungeon located at the bottom of the Bellycutter Hideout. The Necro Pits has its own unique currency (Necro Tokens) which can be traded for new rings and outfits. Along with the Necro Pits comes Penelope, the seventh and final playable character. She's a vampire with big ...eyes that specializes in shadow magic. Complete Rank A of the Necro Pits to recruit her. Finally, there is also now a Finale cutscene which gives some closure on the adventure. To see it, recruit Anne and Marco and reach Rank S+ in the Necro Pits, then talk to Abby in her room as Lone in the Epilogue. Happy delving!
