- Ikea made a Skyrim mod starring Matt Berry as a sentient shelf named Kallax Storageborn - 9 September 2026
The brands are at it again but this time I'm inclined to let it slide, because it's so nonsensical (which is a nice way of saying dumb ) that I can't help but be charmed. - I'm not saying Bethesda are trolling me specifically, but Fallout 4 and Skyrim updates are imminent just as I've modded up the latter for the first time in ages - 17 August 2026
Right, just a couple more location overhauls and there we go. A fresh Skyrim load order created for my first modded toe-dip into Tamriel for quite a while, outside of grabbing the odd article image. Phew, now to relax and sink another 50 hou-wait. Fallout 4 and Skyrim updates are inbound, say Bethesda? Well, that would be my luck, wouldn't it? Read more

A couple of months on from pushing to make some vital veteran additions to their team in order to get their massive Oblivion remake mod over the line, Skyblivion 's developers are once again appealing for volunteers to aid in overcoming some "final roadblocks" standing the way of its release. Meanwhile, it sounds like the chances of another statistical breakdown from the modders running down exactly what's left to be done are low, with Skyblivion's implementation lead asserting that the mod's so close to the finish line such data's no longer "a super relevant way of displaying our remaining work". We've been going back through the PC Gamer vault looking for stories to revisit, reassess, or just have an honest "weren't we naive?" chuckle about, and few have ticked all three boxes as much as our February 2012 "Armchair Designer" column, "Ten things we want to see in Elder Scrolls 6.".. - Skyrim now runs on Fallout 4's Pip-Boy and computer terminals, as modder delivers the one port Bethesda haven't thought of yet - 18 May 2026
It had to happen. After getting the original Fallout and Morrowind running as a holotape on Fallout 4 's Pip-Boy and terminals, the same modder has now made Skyrim playable within the game about a frozen snack finding their son and being nagged about settlements. I can only assume Fallout 4 becoming playable in Fallout 4 is mere days away. Read more
- Rebuilding Morrowind inside Skyrim, huge fan project Skywind now looks like the best way to play - 8 May 2026
There's still no end date yet, but I'm really starting to believe. A new Skywind video just gave us a fresh look at the fan project rebuilding the entirety of The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind inside the modern Skyrim engine. Inspired by the "creative risks" of the Bethesda original, which was made as a last-ditch effort but won enough acclaim to springboard the series into Oblivion and Skyrim, it imagines how the groundbreaking RPG might have looked if it was built using the technology of the latest installment. As the first full progress check-in since its 2024 reveals, it's come a very long way. - Morrowind helped Bethesda to "stay in business" but Skyrim was the "holy sh*t" moment, says former boss - 13 April 2026
When you think about Bethesda games, Skyrim is probably one of the first that comes to mind. Perhaps you've been playing the new Starfield update, or fondly recall your childhood favorite, but Skyrim was something else. The sprawling open-world game defined the genre for a decade after release, and probably spawned more mods than any other game. But, according to Bethesda's former head of publishing, Pete Hines, it was the developer's first "holy shit" moment, and allowed it complete freedom going forward. Read the rest of the story... - Skyblivion isn't "dead in the water", the Oblivion remake mod's lead says, a recent call for extra hands is about maintaining "good momentum" - 2 April 2026
Earlier this week the team behind Oblivion remake mod Skyblivion put out a call for some "final" and "vital" veteran help to get their work over the line in 2026. Given the mod's delay late last year and the fairly lengthy list of roles the post on Nexus Mods cited the Skyblivion crew as looking to fill, you'd be forgiven for wondering what this recruiting push might mean in terms of how work on the mod's going. However, Skyblivion's project lead Kyle 'Rebelzize' Rebel says it's not a sign that the project's "dead in the water", but instead a team who have been "stretched thin" for a long time trying to take advantage of "good momentum" they currently have as they work to tie up remaining loose ends.
