Hello all, Big Fat Alien has recently taken back control of Rogue Islands. Our partnership with Keystone was not a successful one. We made the decision to revert the game back to as it was before they took control. We are sorry for the misleading information and false promises made over the past year and a half. Truly very sorry. Starting today a 75% off sale will run for two weeks, along with the new permanent discounted price. I know this does not make up for the shady behavior but I hope it helps. Thanks guys for your comments – we appreciate it can be frustrating not hearing anything so we are sorry for the radio silence. The commercial reality is that we have had to switch our focus to a console version of the game. The PC market has been very tough for everyone over the last 6 months – it has been very difficult to get visibility and sales. So we have decided to concentrate future development onto console. New developments that we build into the new console version will be reworked into this PC version where it's feasible. The PC game on sale here is still a complete and fully playable game in the current format. In terms of entertainment we believe that’s a lot of hours of fun (or death depending on how you’re getting on) for your money.

Guys, With Halloween upon us we are about to start pushing out some key updates. The primary item on the list is we are laying groundwork for multiplayer! Yep, multiplayer is coming to Rogue Islands very soon, with a number of team and competitive modes including capture the flag and deathmatch modes and some very special custom game styles! Roguelikes and roguelikelikes are not my thing. I get bored, I get frustrated, I absolutely hate the idea of starting all over again when I’ve finally had a good run and it goes sour, I hate Spelunky’s bats, I hate FTL’s fights and I would happily push Don’t Starve’s bees into a volcano. However, after making a video of the game last week , I have spent 15 entirely voluntary hours of my weekend in Rogue Islands , a roguelikelike where you roam across a set of Minecrafty-looking procedural island levels deactivating demon portals and walloping hell bats. I popped into Rogue Islands to take a look around the fantasy action-FPS thinking “this isn’t my thing at all but the monsters look really cute”. It’s nearly four hours later and I had forgotten I had started this news story at all, so that felt like a nice surprise! I’ve made a video of the super early stage so you can get a feel for the game, but it’s a Minecrafty-looking world with a sort of roguelikelike mage gnome adventure sitting on top. What is included:- We are delighted that the incredibly talented actress Becky Wright has provided voice-over for the entire game. We feel that Becky adds a great deal to the experience. We are grateful for her support and so thrilled to have such a talented actress in the game, with numerous stage, screen and radio credits! check her out on IMDB guys! We have balanced gameplay further across all game modes. Explorer mode has been made MUCH more accessible. Let us know what you think! Monsters can now randomly drop health orbs which will automatically boost your health by a further 25% Creature spawn rates and aggressiveness has been toned down in explorer mode. Don't worry all other game modes still offer a challenge too! Updated the amount of food available on each island. This i…

Guys, As promised I want to discuss something of the future of Rogue Islands. We are absolutely committed to creating an on-going gaming experience with Rogue Islands. When you buy the game you are buying the base pack. Although a great game in itself, the base pack will be used as a springboard for launching fresh content on a long term ongoing basis. So what do we have in mind:- We will be releasing regular DLC (downloadable content) for the game, including special themed islands, new monsters and new encounters. There will be a constant stream of new content from a dedicated team of developers, working full time on Rogue Islands. (look out for some special seasonal islands too over holiday times!) Work is already in progress on a special multiplayer pack where you can play against your friends with a whole host of gameplay modes, including custom skins for your character! This includ…
